Please know you are not alone. This Forum has really helped me! I''m on day 9 off FENTANYL & day 3 off Darvocet. I used the Darvocet to help with the Fentanyl WD's. Fentanyl is waaaay stronger than Morphine! Anyway, I'm feeling better today. I woke up with a little bit of a craving for the Darvocet, but what I did was EAT! I lost 19 pounds in 2 months on the Fentanyl. I look bad! But, i don't care. Just make the leap & get started!
im scared to have mine done ince it looks like its gonna be a big surgery since hernia so large it sticks out if it were alittle lower i would look like im pregnant. also, my doctor worned me already after surery i will be in the most pain of my life. however, i questioned that because i had a 22cm cancerious tumor and it burst in my stomach so if he wants to talk about pain that was terrible.
Many people have sliding ones that will eventually drop. How long does it usually take to feel relief? If I do not feel relief, what are suggested next steps? Please help! P.S. I am already following a diet for acid reflux, sleep with a wedge pillow and do not go to sleep until 3 hours after eating.
I don't feel as though I'm in any immediate danger. It does not feel as though it is getting worse as long as I take it easy but! I need to be physically active in my line of work which demands lifting and moving things on a fairly regular basis. Any insight into this matter would be appreciated.
I am concerned about the recovery from the operation. How long does it normally take for a generally healthy adult? I have heard a fairly wide range of time frames. Also, although I have heard many different opinions....from those who are familiar with this....is the immediate effects from the surgery and subsequent recovery as painful and difficult to endure as I have learned? What can one do to make the recovery less difficult?
If you are still having symptoms and it is due to the hiatal hernia, then surgery would be the next consideration. In general, surgery has excellent outcomes and is dependent on the type of hernia and the experience of the surgeon. It is possible that surgery would be a permanent cure, but this is dependent on the patient. My immediate recommendation would be to obtain a surgical opinion. Followup with your personal physician is essential.
I think that the kind of hernia surgery you are looking at it is a relatively simple surgery, as far as surgery goes. I don't think the dog will have to be put under deep anaesthesia, the procedure is something that is done close to the surface, and it is a fairly quick operation. I would expect a healthy dog to recover well. Your boy might have some activity restrictions while he is recovering, to keep him from pulling the stitches loose and undoing the procedure.
Well, the hernia felt like a lump .. so I was relieved when the CT/PET showed a hernia versus "mass". Having said that, it does bulge out some and it only hurts it I lean against the counter, sit-up quickly from lying on the couch, etc. We decided to do the hernia repair as an avenue to have my insides scoped looking for cancer. My CA is up from December (from 20 - 54) and the only visible site on the PET is the lymph node.
Has anybody experienced anything like this? Does it sound like a Hiatal Hernia? This is so hard to go through, I would like to know that I am not alone!
2 hours later, they finally come and get me, while the guy was pushing me down, he was telling me this lady came in the ER with pain, she had apendecitis, and while removing the apendix, they discovered her fallopian tube was bursted, so they remove that, and then she needed her gallbladder removed. So seeing as how it was a life threatening emergency she went first, okay that is reasonable to be late. No worries.
If you do too much too soon, you can increase your chances of getting a hernia. A hernia post-surgery often results in the need for another surgery which sets you back far longer than it would to have waited. My opinion is that I would not push and wait a couple more weeks before riding again. I think you should also call your doctor to let him know of this change. He may want to recheck you sooner if your pain does not subside in a couple of days.
I am suffering so much and I just wonder how many others are out there like me. It is really starting to take a toll on me!
Find the most experienced bariatric surgeon you can find and make sure he does a loose wrap. The surgery is great if you have a great dr and it is done by lapro. It is a horror if done wrong.
I reset coolers and move full end-caps, help unload trucks many days, and noone even suspected I had just had surgery....anyway, I have no way of knowing why you might not want to have surgery if you need it but I thought this might help......Good Luck...............
Even though it did not rupture I still had cancer cells in the washings. I am not sure how much difference it would have made if it did rupture. I know you are worried and I hope everything turns out to be fine. I will definitely be thinking of you.
My question is if that is normal once it has been removed and how long does it last. I had it in for over a year but wanted it removed because my husband and I are planning for another baby. So I have one more question, how long could it take to conceive once it is removed? and is it safe to try the first month that it has been removed?
And wonder why, before stitching me closed, that there was no effort to eliminate at least some of it !? It cannot be passed either orally or rectally since it is in the body cavity.. So how does one get rid of it?? Don't know how much more of this pain. I can take. My stomach looks like I'm 9 months pregnant!
there was a time i wouldda ripped somebodys head off for those. so...........take it from one of the worsed addicts around..it does go away. it really does. i love you bunch a junkies.......
I also have two hernias to be removed while under anesthesia for gallbladder removal. I am scared and middle aged. Does anyone know how long the recovery time would be for all of this combined?
HI Jess honestly I'm not sure if a hernia can effect his sperm count. I just wanted to tell you my RE office usually can get the results within 2 days unless they require me to come in for a consult. Then they tell me at our appointment.
Can you gently push and ease the intestines back through the opening in the muscles? Then it is almost certainly a hernia. It does look a bit large, I would run the kitten to the vet and see what they say about the risk of the intestine twisting off and getting necrotic. If the risk is high, they might suggest surgery now. If the opening into the abdominal cavity is large there is actually less risk than if it is just a tiny opening.
where you awake? How long did it take you to wake and back to normal?). I go Monday for this procedure and I'm scared to death. I also have panic attacks so this condition does not help much.
Dr Di does the endoscopy PFD......it is less invasive, quicker to heal...ect..... I would suggest u take a pad and pen and if the dr says something u do not understand ask him to write it down, or spell it. No worries...
Then there is alka selzer but it contains sodium. I have found when Gas X does not work, alka selzer does?? there is also eating a red delicious apple every day. But more important is that you have to watch what you eat,if you plan on a big meal with dairy or heavy meat, spice and grease ,chocolate, peppermint, tomato based product, take a nexium or prevacid one hour before meal.
I wondered if anyone has actually been diagnosed with a hiatal hernia and how was it diagnosed. Can they fix it. Also I believe if I do have one it could have been caused by excessive vomiting during pregnancy, did anyone else have difficult pregnancies? I have been thouroughly checked by a cardiologist. I have had several EKG's and worn a Holter monitor 2 times. Sometimes I don't have the palps during the EKG.
I had left inguinal and umbilical hernia surgery at the same time, and on day 5 post-op, I couldn't stand it anymore and had to masturbate. It burned slightly immediately before and during ejaculation. I waited 2 more days, tried it again and everything was fine. I would say if you feel up to it, go for it!!
The steroids you would be taking would be corticosteroids and if your doctor managed it correctly, it should be hydrocortisone which should have little if no impact on your stomach (you can always eat with it) and it is a replacement to what your body does not make, not a dose like people with asthma take that is large - so it should be small, taken several times a day (bulk in morning) and should help you to feel better.
Chiari symptoms cycle so, it can feel like it went away or stopped when it is just dormant and it can depend on you, what your activities are and how stressed out you are as to when another flare will happen...or how long it will last...so do try and relax the best you can and avoid activities that make you feel worse afterward. Keep in mind Chiari is a condition not an illness...so it is life altering and there is no cure,....but you can get to a better lifestyle....
I would like for you to explain to me one more time how and when you take your break from the meds. Is it every 5 weeks? Is it cold turkey? Just how do you do it? I want to give it a shot but with the bottle of oxy's within reach I don't know if I can go 6 hours much less 6 days. I wonder if I should try it at the end of the month when I am running out but know I can get a refill if I can't make it. Then theres the pain. Do I just gut it out for the 5 or 6 days?
