Avatar f tn Hello, I used to have extreme pain in the left lower abdomen area (groin area), which was the result of a hernia. I had surgery in July and that took all the pain away. Unfortunately, about two weeks ago, the same exact pain came back. For the past few days, Ive had extreme sharp pain in the same area. I went to the surgeon who fixed my hernia, and she proclaimed that "there is no way the pain is from the hernia".
1169557 tn?1263270893 Although she got what she wanted and lost over 200 pounds, she is now left looking pregnant with her hernia and is still in and out of hospitals to this day. There are days she cannot keep food down and gets sick. She is on very strong pain medication as perscribed by her doctor. Just before christmas, she went in the hospital again. She had lost 8 bags worth of blood through her bowels, and doctors say she was half an hour away from cardiac arrest.
Avatar f tn I shall try to get more information about hernia if it is umbilical or something else. He lives in Pakistan where there is no health care insurance. Finding a donor of liver and then the cost of transplant is out of reach of a person. It could be in millions of Rupees and impossible for an ordinary family. Some people say that if hernia explodes inside the body, it will kill the person. Is there any way to contain the Hepatitis C and reduce the bulge of swollen hernia?
Avatar m tn It seems that there is a strange link between my left testicle with the area, and around the area, of my hernia repair incision. This link starts from the back side of my testicle. From the research I've done, it seems that the Vas deferens or spermatic cord have a discomforting link with the area around the hernia repair wound. This is not painful but it is discomforting to say the least.
Avatar n tn And I have to be frank with you. If your dentist said you had 2 small cavities that would cost $400, and then the hygienist said you didnt need them done, then something is wrong in that office. If the hygienist is right, then the dentist may be trying to stretch things a bit to keep his schedule full. If the hygienist is wrong and you do need he work done, then the dentist has a staff-related problem. Actually, he has a staff-related problem either way.
Avatar f tn Most hospitals work with patients with payments. Doctors, it depends. There is pre op tests done before surgery, too. I'm going for my first Dec 21. Doctor wanted her payment first so. I will be finding out soon what the hospital asks for this.
789572 tn?1334424879 How do you get treated in this USofA with no insurance? I went to see my primary a couple of weeks ago to see about trying the new drugs, they can't find a GI doctor willing to take me on...
494672 tn?1254152672 Terry - I had no idea that the surgery would cost that much! I went into the surgery knowing that most of it would be covered - then to find out that all of it was - what an awesome bonus. It is something to celebrate for sure. Janette Q - sending you some Christmas cheer your way!
Avatar f tn t having any of this pain as I do now. Dr said that as long as I have no problems then surgery can be put off. I still sleep on my stomach and have no pain as long as I do not try to turn.......who ever sleeps in the same position all night. I definitely don't. I don't have any medical insurance and have to pay for everything out of pocket.
14789551 tn?1436522262 I found some online for my mother, one is called No Ins. Surgery in Las Vegas someone said online they paid $5000. for a hernia repair. I have no claims to this clinic and no prior appointment so I definitely would do more research before getting into anything before you go there. Because there claim to fame is a no mesh repair, which is supposed to be less risky, according to them not me.
Avatar f tn For example heart surgery in CA might cost $75,000 while the same surgery could cost $5,000 in MS. It also depends on what insurance company you have. Each insurer creates separate contracts at different price points for the same provider/facility. So a prenatal appointment with Dr X might cost $100 with Blue Cross Blue Shield but cost $200 with United. It is so stupid. In the next few years the federal government is pushing to make costs more even across the board.
Avatar f tn I have been diagnosed with myopic degeneration and receive the intraocular injection which is very effective. My insurance carrier will not cover the cost of the injection (medicine and surgery). If I had a diagnosis of macular degeneration it would be fully covered. I am looking for suggestions as to how to make my case with the insurance carrier that this is not a one time event but a chronic condition that if not treated would result in a loss of vision.
Avatar n tn I'm having a total thyroidectomy next Tuesday, February 5th. I will have two surgeons performing the surgery and their fee is $3,800. I'm having my surgery at a surgery center affiliated with a hospital in and staying overnight. They told me their estimated cost would be $10,000 - $12,000. And, the bills for the anestesiologist and the pathologist (because my thyroid is coming out for cancer suspicion) will come separate. I'm guessing that will be another $1,000 or two.
Avatar f tn I have no medical insurance and I have an agressive cataract in my right eye that has made me legally blind in that eye. Does anyone know what the range of actual cost of cataract surgery sans insurance payments is. It would be mono focal and only the one eye. Any information would be appreciated.
Avatar f tn Find a clinical trial and work at a company with group insurance. You can find clinical trials on clinicaltrials.gov. they will supply the medications at no cost if you want to try to clear the virus. Hep C is pre-existing condition for any individual policy, however on group insurance it is not. So if you get insurance through a comapny even after being diagnosed you should be okay.
1180136 tn?1264810891 ve read about seems to have insurance that pays for all of the transplant, but they need help with the meds, or their insurance covers some but not all. No one seems to have to raise the whole thing. I am game to try and raise the money and I know my family and friends would help but that is really a huge commitment and a whole lot of money.
Avatar f tn Are the risks less with the implant and the latissimis with implants than witht the diep. No one discussed anything with me but diep. It was like.. the plastic surgeon took one liook and said.. You need diep to be happy with the results. They also want their part up front. I have to pay twenty thousand just to get things started because it is considered elective. Probably will end up costing me forty thousand with the nipple replacement and reduction and lift and followup.. Maybe fifty.
Avatar f tn My insurance covered it with just my copay at our doctors office. I would call your insurance to see if they cover it or even partly cover it.
4706518 tn?1358198536 I also have had mesh surgery as of February this year. Since surgery I have had pain in my stomach everyday and cant work in my job. In hide site I have found a Dr. that will remove the mesh as he is specialized in this field. The downfall is he is in Las Vegas and he doesn't except insurance. He has financing. Its Dr. Kevin Peterson. He has NIS group. NO INSURANCE SURGERY GROUP. Good luck I'll be interested if anyone has this removal. I would like to know the out come.
1036535 tn?1278502599 ) I had laparoscopic surgery w/ DaVinci robot (very high tech) with an unplanned overnight stay that only cost about $40,000. Insurance still hasn't paid (done in Dec.). I hope it's an honest input error. I work at a (different) hospital, and I know those things happen. However, I am a little suspicious that this hospital might be trying to get more money since most of their patients are Medicaid or uninsured ,which translates to very little revenue of course.
Avatar f tn I'm 17 weeks and have not seen a doctor yet. I've applied for medical but have been given the run around since September. I've been to the ER twice and have horrible sickness. I didn't have insurance with my first til 5 month because I didn't know and my son came out perfect. My second I had insurance by two months. I guess I'm a little worried cause this pregnancy is so different.
Avatar n tn Because the cost varies from insurance company to insurance company and Medicare the costs are discussed with insurance specialists and not the physicians/surgeons.
Avatar f tn I think you should do your best to find a low or no cost clinic and get it checked. You can call your local health department and they should have some information. It is common to have irregularities, but anything over a couple of months should be checked.
Avatar m tn I can not get travel insurance in relation to hernia surgery. Wondering what the risk is of complications post surgery? Do I go or not go?
