Looking for a doctor in Columbus Ohio who does pain management. The last guy we went to treated my husband like a drug addict and was outright offensive. I need a doctor who does both medicine and procedures and apparently this is a hard thing to find. His pain medication dose is low, however, we just changed insurance and our new family doctor says he cannot write more than one script for pain medication because he is under contract.
I had a few umbilicar hernia operations, the last surgery a mesh was placed in my stomic. Years later I noticed my stomic is geting larger and larger and it is very hard, I was told i need two doctors one for the hernia and the other for the diastasis abd wall. My questions are - 1 would my insurance pay? 2- Do you know of a good Doctor. - Is it a diffacult operation?

I used to have extreme pain in the left lower abdomen area (groin area), which was the result of a hernia. I had surgery in July and that took all the pain away. Unfortunately, about two weeks ago, the same exact pain came back. For the past few days, Ive had extreme sharp pain in the same area. I went to the surgeon who fixed my hernia, and she proclaimed that "there is no way the pain is from the hernia".
Can you recommend me someone to see somewhere in the USA for the cataract surgery? I had my surgery for the retina attachement done in Cleveland Ohio but I am willing to travel for a better surgeon as I did for my hernia surgeries (which also have been hell). I have followups every few months for that eye I had the surery on, and I have one in February. We do the reading test, the dilation dots, then a doc looks me over and checks for a cataract. Last time he said there was one forming.
I think that the kind of hernia surgery you are looking at it is a relatively simple surgery, as far as surgery goes. I don't think the dog will have to be put under deep anaesthesia, the procedure is something that is done close to the surface, and it is a fairly quick operation. I would expect a healthy dog to recover well. Your boy might have some activity restrictions while he is recovering, to keep him from pulling the stitches loose and undoing the procedure.
I am glad to hear that your surgery has done good. That makes me feel good knowing if the surgery went good then a good chance this may last a good while. This is good news.

My vet charges a hundred dollars for spaying but I think it can be done much less expensively (there are a lot of spay-neuter coupons from humane organizations and other resources) and stitching up an opening that lets a hernia protrude can happen at that time for no added cost. So if you can wait until the kitten is ready to spay, you will be ahead financially. But you don't want her to have to have emergency surgery for a necrotic intestine in the meantime. So let the vet see it.
My husband had the surgery many years ago and he did just fine. You will have to take it easy for awhile though. Depending on how extensive the hernia is, I would'nt be too surprised if they do the surgery out patient. Of course you'll receive pains meds and the Dr will send you home with a script for pain meds.
