I was reading to that there is a post syndrome after a tubal (I had no idea) just today on a web site heavy bleeding is one symptom I sure have that!!!
Has anyone had a tubal ligation with serious side affects or really bad pms symptoms? I am considering after my 4th child is born and I have read about some really bad affects. Can anyone help?
i would be encouraging him to have a vasectomy as it's not as dangerous as a tubal ligation and it's easier to reverse if you do decide in the future you would like to have children.
I had tubal clamps put on in 2009 after the birth of my fifth child. Since then I have had heavy irregular periods with lots of cramping, and even when i'm not on my period I sometimes feel a "pulling" sensation around where my tubes would be. My doctor keeps telling me this is normal and that it will get better over time, but after reading your stories, I am severely doubtful. Not to mention that I have now gone 50 days without a period?!
I have had a neg preg test and been to the doctor, who advised me to wait and see. Did any of you ladies who have fallen pregnant after tubal ligation had similar experiences? Also, what method of ligation did u have?
Pregnacy after tubal ligation Topic Area: Pregnancy - Abnormal Forum: The Maternal and Child Health Forum Question Posted By: Tamm on Sunday, April 25, 1999 Posted by Tamm on April 25, 1999 at 14:03:41 I had a tubal ligation about 13 months ago..I recently went into see my dr with abnormal symtoms in my cycle ( server cramps, heavy bleeding large clots) He informed me that I was miscarring. Hello, I am 37 yrs old and I have had a tubal ligation when I turned 32. after my last child was born, I was just at the ER because I have had my period for about 3-4 weeks now and it wont stop Dr. at ER didn't find anything wrong with me. at the hospital I bleed a lot and a golf ball sized ball of what it looked like a clogged blood. he send me to go see a OBGYN to do follow up and he said he might do a Biopsy on me. I rather not go.
I had a tubal ligation 10 days ago. I am experiencing heavy bleeding which may be the early onset of my period (the bleeding began about 10 days prior to expected period begin date). However the amount of the bleeding seems very unsual to me .. I am not in severe pain but any lifting of my toddler for more than a short time has caused sharp abdominal pains, etc. and wears me out. I have since stopped doing that! However I am now bloated and bleeding bleeding bleeding.
i am 39 and have had five children, I had a tubal ligation done 9 years ago after my daughter was born. My periods have been pretty regular and about medium to heavy. Two weeks ago I had severe cramping, the worst I had ever had, I told my husband in tears I felt like I was having a baby. It took the whole day for the cramps to settle down and quite a bit of medication.
I am pregnant with baby #5, my youngest is 3 my oldest is 10, I wanted to tie my tubes after my last one but was terrified to after I heard what happened to half the women in my family. I was told things from, excessive heavy periods that hardly stop years after and continue into menopause, historectomy due to complications and my mom had one due to cervical cancer. My body does not handle hormones as it is just from b/c is there another option for me? Or am I just paranoid?
Horrible cramps, heavier periods, etc. But, I'm still doing it after I have this baby in April. I plan on going back on the pill as well to see if that'll help with the periods. I got pg a couple times on the pill, so I don't really trust it by itself. This is also my 3rd baby in 3 years. I know we can't afford any more, so I think it'll be worth it.
Wow, you poor thing. Did you hear about this PTLS from your doctor? Are you thinking of a reversal? I imagine if you got a reversal, then you're back at square one as far as preventing pregnancy. (I got my tubal at 38 due to my last baby being high-risk and it was suggested strongly that I was done. I probably would have had at least one more.) I guess if you had it reversed, you could ask your husband to get a vasectomy?? Those symptoms really run the gamut! And they sound awful.
Basically I've had heavy periods since after my youngest was born. For the past 5 years, they have become even heavier with large clotting. My doctor found a couple of small fibroids a couple of years ago and suggeted a D&C. After the D&C I had very light periods with no clotting for about a year and then gradually last year every month it seemed to get heavier. I'm now back to no tampons and fearful of when my heavy day or days will be because I basically cant go anywere.
I am now more concerned than ever that I may be pregnant after my c-section/tubal ligation surgery in March 2001. I just turned 36 last week, and I have 4 children the last of which are twins. The kids are ages 6,5, and 3.5...I realized yesterday that although I haven't reached day 28 of my current cycle that I am a couple of days late--for me...I tend to run 23-25 days on average and only *rarely* do I ever actually make 28 days... In fact my cycle previous to this one was only 20 days!
i had a tubal 5yrs ago after having my 4th child. my husband and i talk about reversal and ivf often but neither one are guaranteed.but I've missed my period the last three months spotted a lil once or twice. took several over the counter test and their all negative. but i feel this lump in my lower belly and after bearing four children, i kno what *flutters* are and i do believe i am about 16wks pregnant...
Stay encouraged all of you who are hoping to have another baby after a tubal ligation. MIRACLES DO HAPPEN!!! Walk the path of the righteous and watch how He opens up the heavens and blesses you. Psalms 37:4 says "Delight yourself in the Lord and He will give you the desires of your heart." I wanted to be married and have more children and I poured myself into living God's way and He blessed me over and above what I deserve. He could do the same for you.
Remar is spot on I agree 100%,,,there is no telling how the surgical menopause may effect you...a simple tubal ligation would be better in my opinion.
and I experience the cervical mucus that used to come with ovulation at least twice a month. I had a tubal ligation at 41 after my 6th child. Is the heavy bleeding normal at my age?
Post tubal ligation syndrome (PTLS or PTS) is an an iatrogenesis condition meaning doctor-caused or doctor produced. Many women suffer post tubal ligation syndrome after having a tubal ligation. Hi. I was wondering if anyone has experienced problems after a tubal ligation. I am 36 years old and had tubal ligation/cauterizatiion via laparoscopy about a year and a half ago. I have never had many problems with cramping or heavy periods, etc., but have had previous ovarian cysts. Everything went well with the operation, until about 3 months post op. I started experiencing severe pain on the left side where my ovary is right before and especially the first 1-3 days of my period.
