Common Questions and Answers about Heavy period surgery

period

Avatar f tn I have had to have a partial Hysterectomy and i was able to keep my cervix and 1 ovary. It has been since 1992 that i had this done. Tonight I noticed that I was having a period just as I use to have before my surgery. I'm scared, it's been a very long time ago and I thought that the surgery had taken care of that. and I thought I would not do this anymore. What could be wrong with me??
Avatar n tn Hi, I'm 47 and i having problems like yours. For the 2-3cycles my bleeding period last for 22days.I was worried and went to my Gyne.I told him all my symptoms and was controlled, had paptest plus transvaginal ultransound and found out that my uterine wall is 27mm thick. Endometrial hyperplasia is the right term for uterine thickening.hearing those complicated medical terms..I went panicking and had crying crisis. My fear is too high coz my mom died of breast cancer.
Avatar m tn my g/f has also benn complaining of having a very heavy period and im wondering now if that would be a symptom of an std, please and thanks for info

Avatar f tn right now though im on my period, the first 2 days were really light with hardly any cramps (didnt need to take tylenol or anything) and now its the 3rd day and its really heavy (well, heavy for me, so heavier than it normally is even the first day or two) but i still have no cramps... is it normal that its heavier on the 3rd day? and is it normal that i usually have cramps but this time i hardly feel them even though my period is heavier?
Avatar m tn Having a heavy period is normal, drink lots of water, try walking for 30 min everyday and just remember to change when you need to
Avatar f tn doc said see me in a year.
Avatar n tn I just started my period 3 days ago on time and it has been bright red. It usually is not this color. It isn't heavy and seems to be normal, its just the color that worries me. I had surgery on my foot in the past week. I am on birth control and it is not possible that I'm pregnant because I have had many blood tests and such done because of the surgery. Maybe having surgery has something to do with it?
2188227 tn?1341879548 I have always had issues with my menstrual cycle; extra long, heavy flow, debilitating cramps, increased sensitivity, ect. I bled for about 2 years with very short breaks spread out. The doctors assumed I had endometriosis. I had a laporoscapy on Sept. 11, 2012 only to find out it's not endometriosis and they weren't sure if they fixed the problem.
Avatar n tn I thought it was gonna get heavy but it was only light. Never progressed to a heavy period like it normally does. TMI, at first it had red blood with small & few strands of clots (strands, not the circle clots). After dinner, around 6pm,i decided to change pads as it was already 3hrs, nothing was on my pad except brown strands of clots with reddish tint. I thought of wearing a liner but didn't.
Avatar f tn Then the nausea comes and lack of appetite, pressure to the cervix, severe bloating and minor lack of energy compared to that I have during my period. In the beginning of my period I have to go to the toilet 2 times a day (almost diarrhea) but later sometimes one everey 2 days. Then I also have some nausea days and days that I have pains in my abdomen (in the pelvic area) dont need painkillers but it interrupts me.
Avatar m tn I was put on as a kid due to my heavy periods. Last year my doctor suggested I get off the pill and I did. I just got my first period last week and it was extremely heavy. Going through a super tampon every 20 mins to an hour and lasted for 7 days. Although I was hoping it was because it was the first one in quite some time. I woke this morning to a bloody mess and on the same track as last week. This is exactly how I remember my periods from years ago. Is this normal?
4268628 tn?1375041176 So I have heard the first period will be super heavy n painful. I stopped bleeding a couple days ago finally and started bleeding again, this time bright red blood. But no cramps and fairly light. Should I assume its my period or be worried? I go in next week to check the fibroid and figure out about the surgery plan to remove it. Not sure if that changea anything.
Avatar m tn Hi, I know that you are emotional after your surgery. This must be your first period after surgery and hence it may be a heavy one because of pelvic congestion. Birth control pills do not seem to be helping and hence you will need other medicines to control the bleeding. These can be haemostatic agents and progestins. Also it is necessary to rule out infection. Hence you will need to consult a Doctor. You may also seek a second opinion. Take care and good luck.
Avatar f tn t come out it snapped and went back inside me so I had to go to surgery straight away and have it removed, the first months I had a period for couple days and in the last 2 months I've had a period even day and I am taking the pill some days it's heavy some days I spot but I'm not getting any period pains and I know this is not normal and can't get into my doctors for a whole month???
Avatar n tn 5 weeks ago I tested that I am pregnant but after a week I got heavy bleeding and miscarriage. Went to ER they asked me to follow up with my dr with ultrasound 3 weeks later to see if teverything is clean. Last Monday I got my ultrasound done and they found a 7cm complex cyst in my right ovary. At first the obgyn won't be able to see me until early Dec.
582963 tn?1483452520 Having a heavy period and clots are normal after a myomectomy surgery. I had my myomectomy done on Dec 8, 2008 and after I left the hospital three days after the surgery my period started on December 17, 2008 and lasted 13 days. I passed massive clots, and like you I was alarmed by the amount of blood I was loosing, but that was all normal and I'm doing fine. I look forward to getting pregnant in February of 2009.
1577171 tn?1296158758 I had no bleeding at all after the op but a week later on Mon 24th my period started, a week earlier than it would normally be. It is still just as heavy now, 4 days later, bright red blood. I have no cramping tho. Would like to know if this is normal or if I have pulled or damaged something inside!

Avatar f tn I'm having heavy vaginal bleeding. I was told it would be light and minimal. I had surgery 4 days ago. Shpuld i call the doctor or is this normal. I haven't had a period before surgery in 3months. Could it just be a period?
551683 tn?1220656108 Is it normal to have a fairly heavy period about 3 wks after a D&C and thermal ablation? My last period was actually going on when I had surgery on Aug. 11. I have had the normal watery discharge since surgery, but yesterday, it seems like a full blown period w/ cramping and all. I just wondered if this is just likely a normal period or something that is normal after this type surgery.
Avatar m tn I started my period the 13 of June and it has been so heavy i couldn't go 45 minutes without going to the bathroom. i am still on it but its not as heavy, but still not normal..I am 19 a virgin and my periods are normally only 5-7 days..
Avatar f tn Hello, my period was between 4 and 5 days late this month and is super heavy for me. I haven't been nauseous, or noticed any breasts pain but felt a little dizzy/foggy for a day. I also noticed a drop or two of clear liquid from my breast if they are squeezed and I have never had any breast discharge. I have had some uncomfortable cramping but not anything terrible. Could I be pregnant? Or what is going on?
Avatar f tn My periods are regular, but very heavy. Last period was different however, only two days long. Pain and cramps worsening, as well as radiating pain down left leg, that feels like leg is heating up from the inside. Transvaginal ultrasound showed a thick uterus during 3rd day of period and exam showed uterus has moved to left side of abdomen. I often suffer from low back pain and pressure in lower abdomen. I am forty years old, 5'5" weight is 245.
Avatar f tn I'm 44 and a mother of 12 and 8. had my right thyroid removed 7 years ago because there was nodule and after the surgery the lab said it was benign. After the surgery, my doctor didn't give any medicine because he said I still have my left thyroid...About one year ahead -up till now- my period became irregular- long period, bleeding after sex, bleeding in the middle of cycle. My ob gyn told me that I have hormone imbalance.
