Heavy period reasons

Common Questions and Answers about Heavy period reasons

period

Avatar f tn it is just a weird period quirk like that. there is nothing wrong with you. your period is just drawn out for whatever reason. The brownish discharge is just older blood from tissues that were already broken down and just waiting to come out of the body. The most common reason is starting/changing birthcontrol. If you miss doses it can draw it out too. It throws the chemicals that regular the menstration out of whack. Stress can cause it too.
1416390 tn?1333901604 Since I was through having babies at that time, I went ahead and decided on a partial hysterectomy, sparing my ovaries. Of course, there are other reasons for heavy bleeding, but if you are still interested in having another baby, you may need to be on birth control pills for awhile. It really helps lighten the flow drastically. Good luck to you...
Avatar f tn I am 27 years old, relatively healthy diet. I eat plenty of fruits and veggies everyday I make conscious efforts to eat meat because my husband reminds me he's a meat eater lol otherwise I'd probably just eat seafood fruits & veggies. I am more of a tea drinker, a cup or two a day. I even drink apple cider vinegar yeck! But it curves my sugar tooth. I don't drink alcohol or any drugs not even birth control pills. I do take vitamin supplements though....

Avatar n tn im on my period and have a lot of heavy bleeding having to change my tampons every 15-20mins and i am very dizzy and have a huge migrane
Avatar f tn I have had similar periods such as the one that you are having or have had, there could be many reasons for this. I went to my OBGYN and they put me on medication to slow down or stop my period. My advice to you would be to at least call your OBGYN and speak with a nurse about this, If they were to put you on a medication such as the one that they put me on and it does not work you could have to have many tests done. When it happened to my mother she ended having cervical cancer.
Avatar n tn 30% of women will spot or have some bleeding during their first trimester. 50% of those will have normal pregnancies. So, the reality is, yes it could be a sign of impending miscarriage, or it could be normal. They don't really know for sure what causes it, but some reasons can be sex during pregnancy (doesn't cause miscarriage, just bleeding sometimes) as your cervix is more sensitive; your body getting rid of old blood, etc. It is always best to call your Dr. and let him/her know.
Avatar n tn I went through one cylce of IVF ($$$$$$) and I started bleeding monday night like a period. Cramps do not feel the same as normal period. Bleeding is clotted and red. Please can I have support and hear that I still could be prego!
Avatar f tn That period lasted for weeks and was very very heavy. After that I began having tingles or shivers. Sometimes it would be one leg or arm but never all over..just a part of my body. I've been to the doctor about my armpit soreness and she can't feel the lymph nodes....but it all feels like a bruise to me. This has been going on since February and I think my doctors thinks that this episode with my ex upset me so much...this is mental. I appreciate any response you may offer.

Avatar m tn I was put on as a kid due to my heavy periods. Last year my doctor suggested I get off the pill and I did. I just got my first period last week and it was extremely heavy. Going through a super tampon every 20 mins to an hour and lasted for 7 days. Although I was hoping it was because it was the first one in quite some time. I woke this morning to a bloody mess and on the same track as last week. This is exactly how I remember my periods from years ago. Is this normal?
Avatar n tn No period for three months, not sexually active, 18 years old. I was wondering if there was a reason for my missed periods and if not producing enough blood is a reason?

For the 2-3cycles my bleeding period last for 22days.I was worried and went to my Gyne.I told him all my symptoms and was controlled, had paptest plus transvaginal ultransound and found out that my uterine wall is 27mm thick. Endometrial hyperplasia is the right term for uterine thickening.hearing those complicated medical terms..I went panicking and had crying crisis. My fear is too high coz my mom died of breast cancer.

Avatar f tn right now though im on my period, the first 2 days were really light with hardly any cramps (didnt need to take tylenol or anything) and now its the 3rd day and its really heavy (well, heavy for me, so heavier than it normally is even the first day or two) but i still have no cramps... is it normal that its heavier on the 3rd day? and is it normal that i usually have cramps but this time i hardly feel them even though my period is heavier?
Avatar m tn Having a heavy period is normal, drink lots of water, try walking for 30 min everyday and just remember to change when you need to
1845665 tn?1318949368 Sure, it felt like a period, looked like a period, but I was pregnant...and my uterine lining was thick and sustaining my pregnancy. Women bleed in pregnancy for a number of reasons from SCH, infection, low hormone levels indicating a possible miscarriage, trauma to the cervix during intercourse, etc.
Avatar m tn I had unprotected sex twice the month of march, had a delayed period (normally my cycle is 26 days) arriving on CD 35. It was heavy enough for a tampon, but not my usual heavy cycle. It stopped on day 3. I tested twice on CD 26 and 31 with a HPT and negative result both times. Two days ago, CD 28, I began my next cycle. It was unusually light again, to the point I could have used only a single tampon or pad for the entire day. Today, CD 3, it has basically stopped.
Avatar f tn ) There are many reasons for very prolonged/heavy periods. It could be due to actual problems within the cavity or walls of the uterus or it could be caused by the type of birth control you're on. Def see your GYN and get checked out. Good luck and let us know how you make out...
