Avatar n tn I have abnormal vaginal bleeding on a daily basis. It is extremely heavy during a bowel movement and during sex. Why is this happening? My gynocologist did a pap smear and ultrasound, but cannot tell me why it is happening. She is suggesting a procedure that strips the lining of my uterus, but I would like to know if anyone knows why it is happening or if anyone has had this experience before?
Avatar n tn When my period would start, I would sometimes experience excruciating pain in my lower abdomen and the ovary areas and trying to have a bowel movement during my period would nearly cause me to pass out from the pain. I begain increasing my fiber intake over time and now take it faithfully everyday in cereals, etc. I have been pressure and ovary pain free for nearly 5 years now, by my having regualar bowel movements. I hope this helps. Have a great day.
Avatar f tn Break through bleeding??
Avatar f tn s also quite popular to find fibroids and attribute any heavy bleeding to them. But heavy periods in perimenopause are not as nearly as attributable to fibroids as some sources indicate - at least 50% of women get fibroids after 30-ish - and most are actually asymptomatic- (only certain types of fibroids actually bleed) and begin to shrink as menopause gets nearer.
Avatar m tn my last period was on 1/1/13 last for 5days then no period at all only spoting went to gynecology on the 19/3/13 have vaginia ultra sound he said all is fine maybe am stress or it because i have travell then had my period on the 26/3/13 very heavy and flowing for 5days then no period i started having spotting 2weeks after that and on the 2/5/13 i only had spotting only when i wipe for 2weeks now every other day i am having spotting no flowing period i know am going through some stress but can so
577395 tn?1277401364 Not unusual for your age. Cycles and periods scan run the gamut during perimenopause with bleeding being more frequent than not in some women. Lab work is not helpful since levels can swing from menopause to reproductive during this transition which can last years. Unfortunately, many women are lured into having a hysterectomy or endometrial ablation that causes many more problems than these procedures solve.
Avatar f tn I'm 44 and have been very irregular with my periods for the last few years. I'm on the pill (Yaz) and never miss any. I'm still irregular on the pill even though my GYN put me on it to try and regulate me. I sometimes get my period during the "active" pills and not during the "inactive" pills. My cycle would last anywhere from 3 days to 14 days and would be very light to severe. The last day of my last period was May 1st. I haven't had a period since then.
Avatar f tn I am also 42 and we are at the age where this is beginning for many of us, but chances are menopause is still a long way away. And yes, you still can conceive during perimenopause..many do. See your Dr. if you have any concerns, but I doubt it is anything to worry too much about.
Avatar m tn SO now im nervous again , worrying that this bleeding is abnormal, I know that periods become abnormal during perimenapause, but noone ever told me that we had to go through so many scary tests during perimenopause. I guess what i really want to know is has anyone ever experienced such abnormal bleeding? and is it uncommon to get the small amount of blood and discharge and then nothing? how accurate is the endo biopsy anyway?
Avatar n tn The erratic nature of periods during perimenopause wouldn't concern me, but the heavy flow/clotting is not normal for me, so that would spur me to call my doctor. Did you check in with your doc?
Avatar f tn 9 and i think my LH was about 22.  Last aug i had a light period that lasted 2 weeks and every since my periods have been normal in length but occurring every 2-3 months.  My last normal period was in June and them on Aug 2 i started with very light spotting (some pink and brown) none on pad just a scant amt when i wipe and this continues(on day 5)  My breasts and nipples have been very sore for bout 2 weeks and i have some light/mild cramping on tne right side.
Avatar m tn I am 50 yrs old have been in perimenopause for several months now. I had a period for 24 days then I was off for about 2 weeks and on again for 2 days then off again for a couple weeks. I started bleeding very heavily 2 days ago and passed a large amount of clots over those two days. The bleeding has now subsided but I am having some very uncomfortable pain. Is this normal?
Avatar f tn In January of 2016 just 2 months after having the blood test, I had a period that was very heavy. I then had another period in March that was normal. Now it has stopped again. My OBGYN is insisting I have an ultrasound and biopsy. I feel this is a bit much considering I never went a full year without a period. How accurate are the FSH tests? I still feel premenopausal. I am moody, tired, bloated, tired, and all of the symptoms that go along with being premenopausal.
Avatar n tn Im 43 years old ive had very heavy periods for the last 3 years, i had the depo injection to maybe stop them completely but they havent stopped at all for the last 3 mouths there not heavy just everyday a brown consistencey im so tierd and have no energy to do anything at all also my fingers and belly are very swollen any advice i keep phoning my doctors but cant ever get an appointment unless its urgent x
Avatar f tn But they are not accurate until you have gone a full year without a period because the levels can bounce around a lot during perimenopause. At one point, FSH may show menopause but a later test may show you are still fertile.
Avatar f tn I Did not go through any other symptoms before with peri menopause except one month of hot flashes which I think was from drinking a bit too heavy as I was off due to ptsd. Had anyone went into menopause with having no irregularities and just stopped periods? I took a pregnancy pee test just at the 2 months after last missed period and it was negative. Anyone just go into menopause at 46 from being regular to just having periods stop?
203342 tn?1328737207 I haven't seen a gynocologist yet. I wasn't able to make an appointment any time soon with them so I made an appointment with my general practitioner for tomorrow. I would have rather have gone to women's health but we'll see what he says. I'm on day 17 now with the bleeding. Just seems odd to me but maybe it really is just perimenopause or something, I don't know. It's not super heavy, just seems like a period that isn't stopping.
Avatar m tn However, if you are in perimenopause you absolutely can become pregnant, because you are still ovulating and getting a period, even though your periods may be very irregular. If you have not had a period in 2yrs, my guess would be the likelihood of becoming pregnant would not happen.
Avatar f tn I think that I am into my first year of Perimenopause that I have experiences with all Symptoms. Did anyone like me as the first year going through it? It seems aging has its price. I would like to exchange notes with people like me so perhaps we could share better tips to deal with it together. As Perimenopause may cause bone lost so I am trying to add in some Vitamin, did anyone take some Vitaman to prevent bone lost?
Avatar n tn I'm 47 and my period has always been pretty normal until I started having kids. They became heavier & a day or to longer. Now Sept had no period & Oct. November it has been heavy & two weeks long. For november it is going on day 15. No oder, discoloration & clots like in the past. No pain either.
Avatar f tn Irregular cycles are common during perimenopause, the years leading up to menopause (12 months of no periods). Heavy and prolonged bleeding can happen any time during this transition. Birth control pills will usually regulate the cycle. And then if you have menopausal symptoms once you go into menopause, you could switch to HRT.
Avatar n tn I am having lower back cramping, sharp pains in my stomach and now heavy discharge mostly light brown with some red. I had a period that was very light then heavy then light again (very strange) i feel bloated and im hormonal..I also feel like there are air bubbles in my stomach. I havent taken a test yet..should I?
Avatar n tn From then til last month, I have had a very heavy peiod accompanied with my breasts hurting extremely bad and lots of mood swings. Last month my period was late and it only lasted 5 days in comparison to my 7-10 day heavy ones of the past. This month I haven't gotten my period. I don't have any health insurance and am broke from the divorce so I am looking around on the web to see if this is perimenopause or stress.
