Avatar f tn Just another thought. Why don't you repost your question but not titling it" organ damage". Use something like: "SHould I quit Norcos?" I think you will get more responses and they might be very helpful. Explain your situation like you did with me in your second post and see what people say. I am sure there are people out there in your same situation..
Avatar f tn hi my brother inlaw had a massive stroke yesterday. He is only 38. and ther doctor said lots of brian damiage. do you think he could live after this.
Avatar f tn The extreme loss of water while working out in that suit, can cause a person to experience symptoms related to heat stroke. Potential health risks include, dehydration, weakness, dizziness, fainting and muscle cramps. Extended use of sauna suits for the purposes of inducing quick weight loss can lead to serious health emergencies including organ failure due to extreme loss of electrolytes and even death related to heat stroke.
Avatar m tn Now, ever since then when its hot and sunny out even with a hat on and drinking water I feel so sensitive to heat. Hard to enjoy summer. Not sure If I suffered a heat stroke that day or any brain damage. But i will say i have felt slightly different ever since that. Especially, first week of school I had that time a huge panic attack which cause me anxiety which is a big story for another time. Recently this year I had a MRI on my brain for testing something.
Avatar n tn The past summer I noticed that I did not respond well to the summer heat. In fact, I would sweat very easily in the sun compared to everybody else and could not figure out what to do. I read online that diabetics are less accustomed to heat and therefore they do sweat more. I was wondering if there was anything I could do, b/c soon I am going to have to wear a suit to work everyday and I don't want to be sweating outside. Is there anything I can do other than stay very hydrated??
Avatar f tn An uncommon type of pain resulting from stroke is called central stroke pain or central pain syndrome (CPS). CPS results from damage to an area of the brain called the thalamus, which is involved with sensory perception and movement. The pain is a mixture of sensations, including heat and cold, burning, tingling, numbness, and sharp stabbing and underlying aching pain.
Avatar f tn I would say he needs to go to a veterinarian. It sounds like he has heat stroke and that can be remedied with access to water and keeping him inside but at this point he may have developed some kidney damage, maybe a urinary tract infection. Learn from this. Never leave a pet outside without access to shade and water.
Avatar f tn you could get sun poisoning or heat stroke.. and ive been told not to take too hot baths because it can over heat baby and cause brain damage.. idk how true that is but its probably the same for the sun but if you wear sun block, stay hydrated &; dont stay too long you should be fine.
Avatar n tn I have heard that once a person has had a heat stroke, they can not tolerate the heat anymore. It seems to do something to our body's chemistry. I have not had a heat stroke, but, I am extremely heat intolerant. I am always hot, and I must be in the A/C or I get short of breath, PVC's and feel horrible. I am even hot in the winter. One thing besides heat stroke that can cause heat intolerance is an over-active thyroid and also a lack of natural progesterone.
Avatar n tn It goes on over a period of time that can range from a few weeks to a few years. Every stroke is different and the extent of damage varies in each patient. Recovery does occur even if a part of the brain is damaged. The brain is a remarkable organ. When the blood supply to a part is cut off, new pathways can take over and supply blood to that damaged area. Interestingly, the brain can make compensations.
1452123 tn?1285037949 I have a blood disease called Factor 5 Leiden and also antiphospholipid syndrome. I have history of 1 Pulmonary embolism and 1 stroke. I am in and out of hospitals and sometimes they tell me I'm ok, I just have to go in and check because they aren't sure if my coumedin is working. I have a hard spot on my arm, it might be a tad bit swollen or it might be me seeing things. It's painful like my arm is just about to break. It doesn't itch but it has a weird sensation.
Avatar f tn A year ago I believe I suffered some heat exhaustion/stroke and since then, when i start getting hot during activities, i get chills up and down my spine, arms and legs. My calf muscle on my left side will tingle/becomes numb, i get dizzy , my face gets red, i can feel my heart pounding in my head and my breathing is rapid but shallow and i have trouble regulating it for a few minutes. It scares me.
Avatar m tn s actually someone like a real stroke but heat stroke or heat exhaustion affects the brain in a different way and the ongoing symptoms are related to the body's reaction to heat or sun. Not everyone experiences ongoing sensitivity, and yours may ease off. But in my case, it was permanent. I remember those two incidents very well to this day, man I was sick (unbelievable). So in a way I am not surprised.
Avatar f tn As with heart attack, ive heard your CK level can increase with stroke, in his case heat stroke, as well.. am i correct? Because i do believe that he may have had a heat stroke.. and i wonder if the doctors believed that as well since they ordered a CK test. While researching, i read that the test is ordered if patient had a heart attack, stroke, or something else. But, after seeing his CK level.. You would think the doctors would take further action..
Avatar f tn If you answered no to either of the questions above, I think it is important that you get the tests to check for potential damage from a stroke and talk with your doctor about starting blood pressure medication. The blood pressure medication may help your symptoms as from the info in your post, it seems that your symptoms are related to the increased blood pressure over the past 5 days. Please keep us updated on how you are feeling. Take care.
Avatar n tn A hot environment while doing any intense exercise, including yoga, on people’s health is harmful. ‘Hot yoga’ will lead to dehydration, heat exhaustion, heat stroke, heat cramps, and even heart failure. Avatar m tn i work in the heat and just recently started having bad headaches it feels like a bad ear infection what do you like it is Im a 29 year old female also very sensitive to sound and light too and they usually last all day
Avatar f tn for severe heat intolerance. However, many people with neurologic damage, like a stroke are more sensitive than the usual healthy person.
Avatar m tn The CAT Scans do not show any trace of a stroke and the EKG do not show signs of a heart attack. the doctors tell us that there is damage to the brain, but they won't know the extent until my father regains consciousness. He is non responsive to voices and the little movements that he makes that doctors tell us that those are just reflex actions. What can we expect from all this? should we get a second opinion?
Avatar n tn Angiograms are about the lowest you can get, but by law you have to be warned you could end up with a stroke or other organ damage if some plaque is knocked out of place. There is also the risk that the coronary artery being viewed can suddenly close up when 'tickled' by the catheter, but this is very rare indeed.
Avatar n tn Chinchilla's ears are very important to their thermoregulation. Since chinchilla's normal environment are the mountains of South America, they are resistant to cold and very susceptible to heat related issues, such as heat stroke. The chinchilla's ears function to expel excess body heat to keep the chinchilla cool.
