heat

Avatar f tn Does anyone else notice when they are suffering from anxiety that they cannot tolerate the heat? When I come out of my home or work and it is very hot I feel as if I am thrown into a panic attack. Even if it is only for short periods of time? I start to feel dizzy, short of breath, heart rate increases, off balance.
Avatar f tn If you think you are experiencing either a stroke and or a heart attack, you should go right to the ER.

Avatar f tn While researching, i read that the test is ordered if patient had a heart attack, stroke, or something else. But, after seeing his CK level.. You would think the doctors would take further action.. instead of sending him back to his bunk on light duty. I do not understand the army. Soldiers are not super heros. & mine may not be valuable to them but he is very valuable & irreplacable to his wife and two daughters. And to samanthauriza..
Avatar n tn I was officially diagnosed as having had a stroke a month or so after the attack, but only after my doctor decided it couldn't be anything else. But personally, I'm not so sure it was a stroke or TIA. Basically... I was hanging out with my boyfriend enjoying the day. We got ready to go to his mom's for dinner when we lightly knocked heads {barely hurt}. But I immediately started to feel funny... light headed and fuzzy, hard to describe.
Avatar f tn It may not have been a heart attack, but it could have been an insufficient supply of blood to heart cells with exertion of going up a stairway. Sometimes that can cause heart cell damage so you should see a doctor to have an exam to rule out out anthing serious which appears you have already done. It is difficult to know whether you should wait or have an immediate evaluation...I would call the dotor's office and ask for advice.

Avatar f tn If this happens often at all you need to worry, heat stroke (unlike heat exhaustion) can atually kill a person becuase it messes with the hypathalmes (aka body heat control central). But because you said she was cold and numb, she could have been in the late stages of heat exhaustion so you caught it in the transtion. Make sure she's drinking plenty of water all day before meets. I'm a cross country runner myself and it's very very important.
Avatar m tn s actually someone like a real stroke but heat stroke or heat exhaustion affects the brain in a different way and the ongoing symptoms are related to the body's reaction to heat or sun. Not everyone experiences ongoing sensitivity, and yours may ease off. But in my case, it was permanent. I remember those two incidents very well to this day, man I was sick (unbelievable). So in a way I am not surprised.
Avatar m tn Guess it is the 'Soldiers heart'(Panic attack) allover .But then it wont be a bad idea to get a medical checkup.
Avatar f tn I am on Plavix for my Heart Attack and my husband is on Coumadin for a blood clot he had 3 years ago 1 month after he had broken his ankle and had to have surgery. I say he should be off the Coumadin already. He went back to work full time after the broken ankle and also lost 60 lbs. He says the Plavix is just as bad.
5283093 tn?1379164447 a burning of the skin or scalp or a feeling of extreme heat or cold on skin or scalp; in rare cases sudden blindness in one or both eyes or even seeing double for a day or two. A sudden pain shooting down through the chest is surely cause to suspect a stroke if there is no shortness of breath or heart difficulty when walking. Sudden brief attacks of nausea and vomiting may be little strokes. There are so many other symptoms too numerous to mention.
Avatar n tn A stroke in dogs can also be a pre-warning of various heart conditions, including a heart attack. If treatment can begin early enough, further strokes and heart attack can be prevented.
Avatar m tn Hi, its difficult to tell the exact prognosis. As the post stroke swelling subsides she may recover function. But now all depends on if her vitals are stable or not. As she is improving and if the "stroke" is stabilized, and there is no further bleeding or clotting I would remain optimistic. Regards.
Avatar f tn This could be a migraine and could be a transient ischemic attack. this is an episode in which one has stroke like symptoms upto 1-2 hours. It usually occurs due a clot In the artery to brain or travelled clot to brain from other parts, narrowing of artery. It is usually a warning sign of a true stroke if preventive action is not taken. This is caused by temporary brain blood supply to an area of brain leading to a neurological deficit.
Avatar m tn Now, as for it being a little stroke or some neurological problem in your head, it is possible, but the neurologist can have a go at both when he sees you Friday. I do not think this is MS from the symptoms you give, usually it shows itself as loss in vision and dropping things all over the place, but the neuro will know that too. But keep in mind getting overheated can really do a number on a person, look up dehydration, I don't care what the ER said.
Avatar m tn Hi there. The symptoms of dizziness or hypotension, bradycardia and shortness of breath do not make you more prone for a heat stroke. Though you may have dehydration due to heat stroke which can cause dizziness. You need a cardiac assessment for conditions like heart blocks where the heart rate is decreased causing hypotension as a result. Anemia could also be a cause for dizziness and shortness of breath on walking but there should be accompanying tachycardia in that case.
Avatar f tn A year ago I believe I suffered some heat exhaustion/stroke and since then, when i start getting hot during activities, i get chills up and down my spine, arms and legs. My calf muscle on my left side will tingle/becomes numb, i get dizzy , my face gets red, i can feel my heart pounding in my head and my breathing is rapid but shallow and i have trouble regulating it for a few minutes. It scares me.
