Avatar n tn i show up to every shift and qork hard, but when i asked for more hours so i could start saving up i went the opposite way and now only get 10hrs a week down from the 24-30 i usually do...its ridiculous but i can't really get a job anywhere else right now i suppose. i still have a long way to go in this pregnancy but i cant stand the job now. the downfall is that i also don't want to go onto Centrelink (government) payments if i quit and have nothing to do for the next 21weeks...

He always is mentally abusive and quite frankly i've been working for him for almost 3 years and i can't take it anymore. I am however looking for another job but is there any laws against this? This type of demonstration really exemplifies the difficulties of being employed by Wal-Mart and just how challenging life can be when trying to live on a disgracefully low wage.
Avatar f tn Yikes, this one is tough.... FMLA protects you if you need to take time off for medical purposes up to 12 weeks. But I've heard of people losing their job because they can no longer fulfill the job requirements.... is lifting 30+ lbs listed in the job description? I think employers are required to make reasonable accomadations when an employee is going through medical issues..... but all of this is for employers who have more than 50 employees...

At her job they were going through insurance agencies to find the best rates to accommodate me because my wife wanted to put me on during open enrollment because I had a tentative diagnosis of cancer.
