Common Questions and Answers about Heat rash treatment for babies

heat

Avatar f tn The really hot days stay inside. Your baby might get heat rash, diaper rash and baby acne because of the heat. Babies are made to survive so just keep an eye out and watch for cues.
Avatar m tn from what i could make of it it was just prickly heat but I have tried all the suggested treatments for prickly heat and it still has not gone away. has been about 7 weeks since i first noticed it. any suggestions as to what this may be or how to more suitably treat it?
Avatar n tn I have had a heat rash on my neck, beside the jawline now for 14 years. I have been to a few Dr's who have said "Its just a heat rash, nothing you can do about it". My question, can a heat rash last for this long? Its been in the same place and has never spread. Its definately gets worse in the heat, it itches like crazy.
Avatar n tn Most often, heat rash goes away on its own. Severe forms of heat rash may need medical care, but the best way to relieve symptoms is to cool your skin and prevent sweating. Keep the affected area dry. Dusting powder may be used to increase comfort.

Avatar n tn I read on a google search this can make the rash go away but not sure it. For now, getting rid of the rash would be good enough for me. Something to note is that the rash did expand a very short bit down my thigh but for the past 5 months or so it hasn't expanded rather stay the same. It also appears to almost rub off when I try off with a towel or apply alcohol to it with a dry rag. Both patchs are around 4 inches long and wide.
Avatar n tn heat rash, contact dermatitis, dry skin, infection or folliculitis. Try to use mild soap and refrain from using strong deodorants. If this is folliculitits or inflammation of the hair follicles, this will resolve on its own after a few days. Warm compress may also help. If it persists, it would be best to have this evaluated by your doctor. Take care and regards.
338963 tn?1253660822 IT SHOULD GO AWAY ON ITS OWN AND COULD BE HEAT RASH BECAUSE BABIES DONT REGULATE HEAT OR COLD THE WAY WE DO SO EVEN THOUGH YOU MAY THINK HE IS NOT IN THE HEAT JUST YOU HOLDING HIM OR SWADDLING HIM IN A BLANKET COULD BE THE CAUSE.
1027005 tn?1300050172 Hi, I'm just wondering if anyone has experienced a rash that starts on their belly and travels up. I was in the doctors office for it and also the hospital for heart problems and they said they don't know what it is. The nurse said it could be a heat rash, I live in Michigan how in the world could I have a heat rash at this time of year? Also, it's getting worse as the days go by it's been a week since I've seen a doctor and they said it would go away when I called yesterday.
Avatar m tn A heat rash is a yeast rash (prickly heat). Use Desitin. It should clear up quickly.
Avatar n tn As much as I can tell from the photos, this looks like heat rash or possibly a viral rash. There are plenty of summer viruses besides HIV, though. I suggest that if the rash persists for another 2 weeks, show it to a doctor. Meantime, there isn't any specific treatment you need to do. Best. Dr.
15311409 tn?1439780092 I'm not sure what kind of rash this is, but if it's all over as you describe then it's probably a reaction to something externally. If the rash develops into open pimples or blisters or wounds, they will undoubtedly get infected very quickly, so I would get her to a vet for a full assessment and treatment.
Avatar f tn I have had the rash since I started treatment (I'm completing week 15 I think). i take 1 benadryl at night, sometimes 2 and use a prescription strength hydrocortozone (2.5%). Stay out of the sun, it makes it worse. Cool showers and tell your doctor before it gets out of control.
Avatar n tn I have been off treatment for over a year and half and this rash drives me nutts.. Hurts like hell...
Avatar m tn I think probably most of your health issues have to do with the Arizona heat. The rash and your higher body temperature, that's probably from the heat. Use mild soaps with laundry & bathing and rinse well, generally wear clothes that are 100 percent cotton, and use a little baby powder at the neck, to minimize chaffing. A lot of Southwesterners wear a bandana to soak up neck heat and wipe off their brow. But heat alone will sometimes cause a rash.
Avatar f tn Ok so I'm confused, I've heard from some people that you shouldn't put on heaters so much for babies because then if you go out of the room and it's cold or you go out somewhere and it's cold they are more likely to get sick so you you should just cover them up well with the weather.

Avatar f tn I'm from California n this 90-100ยค weather is giving me a heat rash it's down my thighs and ice packs help...anyone else get rashes?
Avatar m tn I've posted here before, but it was because of my paranoia of treatment failure (pharyngeal gonorrhea). 5 days ago, I developed a mysterious rash on my chest. It was weird because I did not have a rash in the morning. My parents think it's a heat rash because I wore all black, and the sun was out. The rash was kinda stung when I showered the following morning. My risk: I gave oral sex to a man, and I am also a man.
