Common Questions and Answers about Heat rash photo

Avatar n tn I didn't look at the photo since 'diagnosing' from a photo is never a good idea. It's also hard to guess what a rash could be based off of a post stating the location of the rash and not much else. You really need a doctor to give you an in person exam and gather more of your medical history to tell you the cause of the rash. Get into your doctor- feel better soon!
Avatar n tn I did some research on the internet and it resembles a maculopapular rash. What could cause this type of rash? I could send a photo if you would like to see the rash itself, Could anxiety or stress cause this?
Avatar n tn It fits all the descriptions of a heat rash but it has been a week now and they are not on the neck, in the groin, under the breasts, or in elbow creases. Just on my arms and legs! I have tried hydrocortizone but as suspected, it was too moist for the area and made the rash feel worse. I am staying away from the New York City sun, no longer jogging at high noon but there is still no sign of improvement. I just got laid off and I am without medical insurance (can't afford Cobra).
Avatar f tn I have had urticaria in the past from heat rash and the rash did not have little white heads. It is likely that you are sweating more and the pores are getting blocked up hence the little white heads. It also looks from the photo that you have an oily skin, and these type of spots are quite common on that type of skin. Have you noticed at all apart from the sun, whether this is linked to round the time of your period?
Avatar f tn thank u Grace actually there is not pain just itching where my bikini line is it was a bit red but no red bumps just feels like a heat rash or its no where near my vagina at all so I'm really thinking its just a razor burn.
Avatar n tn I have been to an internal medicine, Derm, and allergist and no one can figure out what is going on with me. I had an outbreak of a pimple/blister like rash all over my arm and legs. I was put on a heavy dose of prednisone starting at 40mg then 60mg next round, steroid cream, benadryl, sarin lotion. Finally after months it went away. It now is back and on my neck and spreading on my cheeck and chest. Im going through the whole routine again but nothing is helping.
Avatar n tn Atopic dermatitis may be considered here.Your rash appears to be triggered by heat and the incidence reverts spontaneously after a few minutes once in a cooler environment. I suggest that you have this assessed by an allergologist or clinical immunologist. An atopic reaction has to be ruled out. At this point avoid exposure to extreme heat and take frequent baths to cool the body. You may use mild moisturizers with menthol and camphor for cooling effects .
Avatar m tn Hello, I cannot confirm anything without examination but it can be dermatitis skin, contact dermatitis or heat rash. Keep the area clean and apply some topical antiseptics. Also wear loose-fitting cotton clothing and use an antibacterial soap or mild soap like dove. Oral antiinflammatories like ibuprofen/acetaminophen are also helpful apart from steroid creams. If the symptoms are severe then it will be best to consult a dermatologist.
1063463 tn?1302274619 muscle weakness in legs, livedo reticularis(molting on skin), uveitis, hives when i get cold, severe vertigo(has lessened but is still there, extreme fatigue, and the newest being a rash when i go out in sun. The rash is only on my forearms and the v of my neck. I posted pictures on my profile. If you have any ideas of what could be causing this I would appreciate it. Thanks in advance.
2218251 tn?1339481747 Since you get these blotches only while travelling to hot climate, it can be a fungal infection, heat urticaria (rashes develop due to heat), contact dermatitis due to something your legs come in contact with (say while trekking). Do discuss this with your doctor and get yourself examined when you return with the rash. Take care!
Avatar n tn Since then I tried tolnaftate, and various other over-the-counter antifungal creams. I went to the doctor for a heat rash around the same time and I received a prescription for a giant toothpaste size tube of econazole. The doc told me that she could not identify my shin since the infection went chronic after I applied anti-fungals. She instructed me to try the econazole on my shin also and use up the whole tube. If it didn’t work I am to go to a dermatologist and get a biopsy.
Avatar m tn When the rash is at its peak, symptoms can range from mild itching to extreme and intense pain. The other possibilities are of heat rash, sweat dermatitis or folliculitis. My sincere advice would be to consult a dermatologist. It is very difficult to precisely confirm a diagnosis without examination and investigations and the answer is based on the medical information provided. For exact diagnosis, you are requested to consult your doctor. I sincerely hope that helps.
Avatar n tn Just wondering if anyone has found a remedy for the "hiker's rash" or the heat rash that develops above ankles when in hot and humid weather and on feet all day? I have seen 2 dermatologists and they are stumped. This discussion is related to Lower Leg Rash.
Avatar n tn Hello, Without examination, confirmation of a diagnosis is tough but it can be contact dermatitis, rash due to friction rub with clothes, folliculitis, dermatitis (atopic, contact, allergic), heat rash or excessive sweating causing sweat dermatitis. You may try calamine lotion on the rash. You should also maintain hygiene and try to keep the area clean and dry, wear loose-fitting cotton clothing. Also use an antibacterial soap or mild soap like dove.Avoid deodorant / cosmetics.
176741 tn?1295233989 Anyone have experience with photo-sensitivity? Basically a sun allergy that causes sun to react with chemicals in cosmetics, skin creams...even sunscreen? I am completely broken out in contact dermatitis. I was in the sun 7 days ago with sunscreen on. Anyplace I applied sunscreen and allowed sun to penetrate, I have a terribly bumpy rash. I've read that I should look for sunscreens using zinc oxide for future use. Have any of you dealt with this before? Rash is now on day 7...
Avatar n tn I have had a heat rash on my neck, beside the jawline now for 14 years. I have been to a few Dr's who have said "Its just a heat rash, nothing you can do about it". My question, can a heat rash last for this long? Its been in the same place and has never spread. Its definately gets worse in the heat, it itches like crazy.
Avatar n tn Until recently I have had a beard, but due to some weird rash I have shaven it off, hoping that would help, I however keep getting it, most of the time it's not noticeable itchy or such but.... it keeps coming back and even gets a lot of weird little bumps in the rash.... I have tried extra daily washing with anti bacterial soap, peroxide and even rubbing alcohol, while the alcohol and peroxide sting like hell, it doesn't seem to put a stop to this, just keeps coming back.....

Avatar n tn Hi, You have not described the nature of the rash nor is the photo available but nonetheless the most common causes for rash on the face would be allergy and acne. Azelaic acid (FINACEA Gel), 15%, is indicated for topical treatment of inflammatory papules and pustules of mild to moderate rosacea. Rosacea begins as erythema (flushing and redness) on the central face and across the cheeks, nose, or forehead.
Avatar f tn if you search online for bullseye rash pictures you will find lots of photos that have a remarkable variety of how red, how big, how circular, how disk-shaped, etc etc. There is not one single presentation of a bullseye rash, and if I got anything remotely looking like any of those shapes, I would take a photo of it and get myself and the photo to a Lyme doc asap, just in case, and the sooner the better.
