Avatar f tn My four yr old came home with what looks like heat rash the first day on her nexk, back of ears. Eye lids, and forehead. It wasn't blochy until the next morning and I noticed it was inside and around her ears. She's not complaining of it itching or burning doesn't have a fever and is eating like a horse. The advice nurse told me kids just get rashes and not to worry. Should I be worried its been 3 days and its not going away.
427258 tn?1266445242 and she told his he has a viral infection. Now he has broken out in this pinkish/red rash all over his body. Some are raised and some are not. My mother said she believes it to be roseola. Any one else go through this with thier child? Should I be concerned? Any remedies for it or does it just run its course?
Avatar f tn It sounds odd but is very common in children and adults.Hydration is important. The rash is most likely a sudden heat rash..but without proper testing to rule out other more serious conditions it is hard to make an educated guess. Good luck and be well.
Avatar n tn My question, can a heat rash last for this long? Its been in the same place and has never spread. Its definately gets worse in the heat, it itches like crazy.

Avatar n tn hives are itchy irregular raise patches of redness and heat can heighten an allergic reaction if your son has been out in the heat when the rash came. it may also be heat rash, but the benedryl and bactine would do him no harm if you give them and they are not what is needed. a cold wash cloth works well on hives and heat rash.
Avatar m tn I have not changed anything in my diet or soap. One DR. said folliculitis from trimming, the other heat induced folliculiits - no rash or bumps - does get alittle red after I have my shirt on from rubbing - and only happens when my shirt is on as well. Any thoughts? I just want to make sure its not due to HIV even though all my Dr.s say no way after 9 months. I am just running out of ideas.
Avatar n tn How are you? Heat rash is also known as prickly heat and miliaria. This is usually seen in babies but it also affects up to a third of adults living in tropical climates or during hot, humid weather. This develops when your sweat ducts become blocked and perspiration is trapped under your skin. Heat rash looks like a red cluster of pimples or small blisters that maybe associated with itching.
Avatar n tn The most important thing is to not wear perfume in the first place. Trust me, as long as you don't smell bad, no one cares. And some of us much prefer it when people forgo the perfume (it burns my nose). I would not put neosporin on heat rash if it's not infected. You want the area to stay nice and dry, not all gooey, and there's no need for the antibiotics if you don't have open sores. I've never heard of baking soda being any good.
Avatar n tn Hi, I have suffered from chronic itching and skin rash for the last few years, I also suffer very badly when i am in the sun from what i assume is heat rash even though i have been on steroid tablets, steroid creams, anti hystamines and so on at the time that i go to a hot country, I go to spain once a year as my parents live there and each year i end up looking like im diseased when i come home.
Avatar f tn Staph infections, especially MRSA infections, are very common in children in that area. She should continue to follow up with the dermatologist as needed at this point since it's not unusual for staph infections of the skin to come back repeatedly.
Avatar f tn ve traveled twice--once to Mexico, once to China--and both times the rash has been out of control. When I was in China, the rash started just after waking up and got worse and worse as the day went on, and it was worse every subsequent day, eventually moving up past my elbows and later beginning around my ankles. My skin was never covered during these times, so it's not a "trapped heat" thing.
Avatar m tn no testing either unless the child gets an obvious cold sore to be cultured. the blood tests we currently have are not accurate in children under 14.
Avatar f tn Peanut butter, egg, fish, soy products etc are more commonly known to cause rash in children. See if anything was started recently. Some children are allergic to a particular kind of fiber. Please check if you have started using a new set of clothes or towel. Introduction of a new shampoo, soap, body lotion, cream, oil or other toiletries too can cause allergic reaction Please discuss these possibilities with your general physician and dermatologist.
Avatar n tn One should also contact a doctor if the rash seems worse and fever is present. In most cases, prickly heat will resolve within a few weeks without medical attention or intervention. Regards.
