I'm a 33-year-old male. Recently I've had a couple of flare-ups that I haven't had since I was in my late-teens and early 20's. It starts with a slight tingling sensation at the center of my forehead. Later a red, itchy rash develops on my forehead. After a day or so, the rash usually "scabs" over with crusty, flaky skin. Eventually, after a few days, I can wash the "dead" skin away, apply a moisturizer and the skin returns to normal.
Hi, This sounds like a heat rash or milaria , though nothing can be said with surety without having a look at the lesions. 'Miliaria (miliaria rubra, sweat rash or prickly heat) is a skin disease marked by small and itchy rashes. Miliaria is a common ailment in hot and humid conditions, such as in the tropics and during the summer season. ' 'The prevention and treatment of miliaria primarily consists of controlling heat and humidity so that sweating is not stimulated.
I slept on my right side and on that side(chest/arm wise) the rash seems to be larger. Is this a heat rash? or some kind of allergic reaction? I haven't used any new skin products or new laundry stuff. I've had a hypoallergenic cat for months now. Help?
Mentioned it was worse coming out of the shower and although I couldn't find anything on hot showers causing heat rash ... figured why not try. So no more lotrimin on the feet and cold showers. Cleared a little over the next two days and now five days later my forehead is completely clear. Coicidence after a couple months? I don't know. But appreciate the help and if it comes back will most certainly see a dermatologist.
My 9 year old daughter suddenly presented with a red pimply like rash on her forehead. I have no idea how or why it came about and how to treat it.
Some have suggested it could be prickly heat, but I have always lived in a hot, dry climate, and I haven't heard of heat rash lasting over 2 months. Any ideas?
like the others said, lots of viral infections end with a rash. i suspect fifths. if he has been around anyone who is pregnant i would take him to the ped for a diagnosis just so you could warn them. it can be dangerous for pregnant women. it's also miserable for any adult to get it so hopefully you had it as a child. otherwise, you can probably let him go a bit or just call the dr for a consultation.
represent a disease, much less a continuation of the original problem? Lots of people have mild facial otbreaks (heat rashes, folliculitis, whatever) which they just ignore and watch disappear. You go on: "- slight itch in buttock area - comes and goes. Always better after a night sleep. - Shaving aggravates sometimes" What does that add? Not a whole lot.
I had a rash on my hand ,bubbles & redness . my pcp said "poison ivy" . reading this site ,made my think .probably was NOT and was due to meds & heat . " riba rash " Ive heard people call it ! although the benydrl & cortizone cream ,he prescribed helped . hope your [[[[[[[ itch ]]]]]]]] goes away !
ABOUT 3 WEEKS AGO I USED AN OIL FREE ACNE WASH- A COUPLE OF DAYS LATER I NOTICED WHAT SEEMED TO BE SMALL BUMPS OR A RASH ON MY FOREHEAD, THE T ZONE AND CHIN. IT HAS BEEN 3 WEEKS AND I HAVE SEEN LITTLE IMPROVEMENT. IT SEEMS THAT HOT LIQUIDS AND SWEATING SEEM TO AGGRAVATE IT. ONE WEEK PRIOR I HAD A FEVER SORE AND NOW I MIGHT HAVE UVETIS IN MY RIGHT EAR. CAN YOU GIVE ME SOME INSIGHT???
My four yr old came home with what looks like heat rash the first day on her nexk, back of ears. Eye lids, and forehead. It wasn't blochy until the next morning and I noticed it was inside and around her ears. She's not complaining of it itching or burning doesn't have a fever and is eating like a horse. The advice nurse told me kids just get rashes and not to worry. Should I be worried its been 3 days and its not going away.
but on top of that I have chronic hives..which is whole another story. i think the heat rash it some sort of hives actually....i've had the form you have all my life. it's just how your body is built. i have pretty sensitive skin and just driving in the heat brings out red blotchy on my chest. when i take really hot showers i get them where my skin is thin. if your itchiness is really bad try putting really thick lotion on. i know it's frustrating to hear that you have to live with it...
I wonder whether this fine redness and burning on my face and neck is part of the heat rash or maybe something else? Any advice what to do more? I will appreciate your help. Thank you.
Hello, It sounds like heat rash or sweat dermatitis. Heat rash is a skin irritation caused by excessive sweating during hot, humid weather. Keep the affected area dry. Dusting powder may be used to increase comfort, but avoid using ointments or creams.Calamine lotion will help in providing soothness. Also keep away from the sun during the peak hours. Hope it helps.Take care and pls do keep me posted if you have any additional doubts.
I have the same identical problem. You described it perfectly. I would add that whether I use sunscreen or not does not impact it. I never had it until I turned 40. I am fair skinned too. I don't have to get burned to get it. I noticed it when cutting wood, mowing, golfing ... anything that makes me sweat. I am not a big sweater either. I try to wash my face soon after coming in. I don't know if that helps. The bumps are more like surface pustule which are really tight and "crisp".
Hello-- I get a red rash on my forehead and into my hairline when I sweat, am hot, in the sun, after a hot shower, or if i am lying on my side sleeping and my head/face is pressed against the pillow. I also suffer from dermographia and allergies. Does anyone know if this is a type of heat rash?
Sounds like a heat rash. Try wearing the 80's bandana or sweatband. Shower or wash your face as soon as possible. You can try using an astringent or oil absorbing sheets ( available at some drug stores ). These may help considerably.
I have discovered a recent rash like spots on my forehead. They don't look like a group of pimples i normally get. These are reddish tone, and when i wash my face, it breaks the scab and liquid comes out. and they crust over... at my job, i sweat a lot and wear a hair net. Is the band from the hair net causing this? could this just be a heat rash? it seems to be spreading. I also have a life history with serious eczema, but never on my face.
No common theme on when it starts that I know of. What it looks like? Most people describe the "average" riba rash as a light red, dry rash usually with raised little bumps all over. But again, everyone is different, this is just what I've heard described and what I personally experienced with the so called riba rash. Speaking for myself, there were other facets of it though. Although much of what I went through was also either directly or indirectly tied into a telaprevir rash.
i frequently experience heat not quite a fever, but if i put a cool hand to my forehead, feel that it is there kind of warmth that is also tied to the days i get the frontal headaches. which can vary from dibilitating to annoying but manageable with daily activities. sometims cold wet washcloth, or ice pack or just the cold hand to forhead feels comforting.
I try not to scratch them with my nails. They aren't really too itchy, but I have wondered if this is a form of riba rash? The little bumps are not together like a rash would typically be, just a random bump here and there with a scab on it. I am using Vit E now & every kind of moisturizer I can get my hands on. But the bumps keep showing up here and there. Any input? Thanks!
Hello, From the symptoms rosacea needs to be ruled out. Rosacea is a cutaneous disorder primarily of the central part of the face , such as forehead; cheeks ;nose; and chin. The basic process seems to involve dilation of the small blood vessels of the face. Treatment options vary from antibiotic creams, antihistaminics, sun screens to laser treatment. A dermatologist’s evaluation will be the best.
I have had urticaria in the past from heat rash and the rash did not have little white heads. It is likely that you are sweating more and the pores are getting blocked up hence the little white heads. It also looks from the photo that you have an oily skin, and these type of spots are quite common on that type of skin. Have you noticed at all apart from the sun, whether this is linked to round the time of your period?
Until recently I have had a beard, but due to some weird rash I have shaven it off, hoping that would help, I however keep getting it, most of the time it's not noticeable itchy or such but.... it keeps coming back and even gets a lot of weird little bumps in the rash.... I have tried extra daily washing with anti bacterial soap, peroxide and even rubbing alcohol, while the alcohol and peroxide sting like hell, it doesn't seem to put a stop to this, just keeps coming back.....
I think its just some type of dry skin or from the humidity. It could also be a heat rash. I just put lotion on mine, it has not gone away completly and I have had it for 5 months or so now. It probably is just some type of dermititis. Try aveeno lotion, or something with out chemicals. That could be drying it out even worse. Also, some baby wipes can cause irritation as well, if you use them on his face.
Basically, when ever I'm out in heat, I start to get these sharp, needle like pain all over my top area of my back and on my forehead, which also causes my scalp to start itching. In addition I can see sometime little rash like redness on my forehead when this pain starts to occur, which could also be on my back, but I've never been able to check. When it gets really bad, sometimes it get engulf my whole back and can even start to feel it on my front belly/chest area.
I had the exact opposite thing happen to me with heat. The hotter I got, the worse the rash, hives, itching, psoriasis got. Also sun, I accidentally got in the sun (and heat) for a short time one day and the psoriasis went wild. The psoriasis is interferon induced (autoimmune disorder). While I hope yours will clear up soon with appropriate treatment, it is quite possible it will stay with you throughout the duration of treatment and even afterwards until the drugs are out of your system.
It starts out as a tingling feeling that develops into a red rash on my forehead, cheeks. and neck (some areas on my face will have one or two small raised marks that appear to look like scratches). I will also have a red mark in the middle of my chest. This rash will last up to 20 to 30 minutes and then dissapear. It starts out as a tingling feeling that ends up itching and burning(like a sun burn). It is also not a uniform rash.
