Avatar f tn If you mean the new virus originating in China, currently it is believed to mainly be spread the same way as other corona viruses such as the common cold, which is getting coughed on or coming in close contact with someone who is infected. Because it takes about 14 days, they think, for symptoms to show up, it is possible to get it from sex not because it's sexually transmitted but because the person you're having sex with has it and you're in close contact.
Avatar m tn hi guys im just a little bit confuse about what doctor said that boiling has no effect on stability of HCV outside the body but this article said heat have a drastic effect on HCV life so that means boiling can kill HCV ( http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC2834657/ ) HCVcc in culture medium was found to survive 37°C and room temperature (RT, 25 ± 2°C) for 2 and 16 days, respectively, while the virus was relatively stable at 4°C without drastic loss of infectivity for at least 6 weeks.

Avatar f tn you might want to have a sputum test done if the dr helping you hasn't done this you may be getting the wrong antibiotic .in wich case you will not get rid of your problem first you should try to identify the pathogen dr's can be wreckless throwing anibiotics around like chicklets.all bacteria have become resistant because of this .so if you don't know what your treating see if you can identify it first if not then try a fungal test they are a specific test that needs to be ordered .

7758733 tn?1402589420 At the end of the day, my back kills me so I'll lay in bed with a heating pad to my back. And my baby moves alot, does she feel the heat? Maybe a dumb question but it is safe to use right?
461838 tn?1255790216 It's the heat for me, regardless whether it's sunny or overcast. I went through most of my tx in the hottest summer NZ has had for years and I felt so sick and uncomfortable when ever I was exposed to the heat. Weird cos I've always been a heat lover... The brightness of the sun just increased my discomfort. Once we got in to autumn where we still had bright sun but not as much heat or humidity I found I could actually enjoy the sunlight for a while.
Avatar f tn The heat kills me too. I'm in Washington DC where it gets hot and humid. During summer months we do a lot of field trips with my students. I would be ok with that in 'normal' circumstances but I'm 25 weeks preggo and I don't enjoy taking 20 kids out in the city! It's physically demanding and I'm not in the best shape of my life right now. I guess, I'm venting since you've touched the subject ;) I honestly don't have a recipe for surviving the heat.
1760800 tn?1406753451 I handled 106 better than this stuff - Who else out there is feeling the humidity more than the heat we had. My legs feel like lead weights when I am outside. In the AC much better. Never wished for fall and winter more! LOL!!!
Avatar f tn I'm 25+5and I have that same thing. My lower left side of back kills as well as my hips.

Avatar f tn Some antibiotics and some herbals work by lowering the microvermin's ability to withstand heat by inhibiting their heat shock proteins. Penetrating heat could push some of them over the edge of their tolerance, or it could just make them dig deeper to get away from the source.
7987584 tn?1409244036 You don't have to give it up just heat your meat up! The heat kills any bacteria that could be there! That's what I do!
Avatar f tn does it depend on how many viruses u hav to fight while on tx too, like flues, gastro, ear infections?i think white cells fight every germ virus etc from what i remember reading and hearing but i do forget an aweful lot, so thats my theory on why its low hope my chances aint worse cos of low wbc,i will hate flue viruses soooooooooo bad if im right.
Avatar m tn Despite that, environmental exposure quickly kills all the viruses you mention quickly and they become non-infectious substantially before they die. Despite these small biological differences between the two viruses however, years of experience has also taught us that, short of direct injection of infectious material DEEP into tissue, environmental exposure is simply NOT a meaningful source of infection for any other the viruses you mention - HIV, hepatitis B, or hepatitis C.
