Avatar n tn Ohhh okay, yeah I just read something on google saying that Deli cold cuts can carry bacteria & when it's heated, it kills off the bacteria that may be present. Idk lol. I'm just cautious with everything!
Avatar f tn ve always heard to heat up the meat before eating so it kills off any bacteria. Subway was one of the few things I could ttolerate sometimes during my first trimester. I would always tell them to microwave the meat a little before toasting it or putting it on the sandwich. I still eat it though!
Avatar f tn Try to avoid fish high in mercury, make sure all meat thay you eat is fully cooked-same with eggs, they say to heat deli meat so it kills off bacteria but i eat it cold and i have no problems also avoid raw fish like sushi.
Avatar f tn you can but heat it up to a good temperature.
Avatar f tn No, HIV dries up really fast. Hepatitis can survive for 3 weeks on surfaces if it isn't cleaned off. Bacteria can't survive when dry. But they have strict requirements to clean in between people so I wouldn't worry about it.
Avatar f tn I would say this sounds like classic symptoms of a yeast infection. Post or pre surgery did you take antibiotics? This would be a common reaction to antibiotics as it kills the 'good bacteria' we all have in our vagina and throws the ph off. You can check in with your doctor since you are healing from surgery. Infection generally involves pain or heat. I use one day monostat ovule, put in at night, wear a pad and it clears up for me.

8464451 tn?1409883976 The way that ceviche is "cooked" is that the citrus breaks down the chemical bonds in raw fish, "cooking" it and therefore the taste and texture is just like cooked. A lot of people argue that because of the chemical reaction, it's "cooked". Personally I feel like because there is no heat in the cooking process, I don't see how it kills the bacteria that is supposedly bad in raw fish. It may taste and look like it's cooked but what about the bacteria?
Avatar f tn It kills bad bacteria but unfortunately it kills good bacteria also.
Avatar f tn You can have deli meats if you heat them up first. It kills the bacteria. You can also have soft cheeses as long as they're pasteurized. Never heard the "no smoked foods" rule before. Limiting tuna or high-murcury content fish like swordfish is a good one to follow. Same with avoiding raw or undercooked meats like sushi.
Avatar f tn Chicken liver big no no I think it has copious amounts of vitamin a in it ( I think) and can do something to babies pretty much all cheese is fine if your in the usa. The only kinds you need to look out for is soft cheeses that are unpasteurized...even if it's not you can still eat it but there's a small risk for containing nasty things cos it hasn't been heat treated to kill bacteria . I eat rare steak all the time.
Avatar f tn I was told not at all since it kills natural bacteria your body is building up to protect both you and baby during delivery.
362971 tn?1201987034 Probiotics are formed of bacteria and can be susceptible to heat. Prebiotics are made of fiber, not bacteria, and as such would not be influenced much from temperature except perhaps when exposed to prolonged, extreme heat which is not likely to occur if the inulin is dissolved in tea or warm water.
Avatar f tn You can eat it if u heat it in the microwave or on a skillet first
4540912 tn?1379630447 I was like that in my first trimester. I only had soy milk and didn't have deli meat. I was extremely careful...then one day i found some bacon and cooked it...my baby is still healthy lol. My nutritionist said as long as you microwave the sandwich meat you're fine. It's meat from the deli they worry about cause they don't really clean it.
Avatar f tn U can eat it as long as it's well cooked. Just stay away from cold cuts/deli (not cooked), raw stuff n unpasteurized stuff. N high mercury food. That's because a bacteria can live in it but cooking the mat b4 u eat it kills it so make sure u cook it well.
Avatar n tn Babies under one year can't have unpasteurized honey because of the risk of botulism, which is why pregnant women can't have it as well. If you look at the label you can see if its pasteurized or not. The bear honey is usually pasteurized so it's safe to eat. Botulism is a very hard bacteria to kill though which is why professional pasteurization is necessary. Heating raw honey at home won't kill it. It requires high heat and significant pressure....
Avatar f tn For a sore throat I recommend eating cold pineapple. The acidity in it kills bacteria and the coldness helps the sore part in my opinion. Also if u dont like that idea try gargling with salt water... make it as hot as you can stand it. The salt kills the bacteria. I have done both but personally prefer the pineapple method because its yummy and ur using it to help with the pain. I get strep throat very often and thIs really works for me.
Avatar m tn Keep dust down in the room and purchase an ultraviolet disinfectant unit. Ultraviolet light kills tb bacteria. That discovery won a Nobel prize in 1904. It pays to repaint your apartment. This was a standard thing to do in the 1920's to seal in bacteria that have ended up on the walls. Never dry mop. Always wet mop. Remember that bleach kills tb bacteria. That is why hospital whites were mandatory during the turn of the century.
Avatar n tn s a over growth of bacteria on the skin that gets exacerbated when you heat up down there and start to sweat. over time, the bacteria set up shop because the conditions are perfect for them to multiply and thrive (consistent sweating). deal with the sweating and bacteria, deal with the odor.
Avatar f tn you might want to have a sputum test done if the dr helping you hasn't done this you may be getting the wrong antibiotic .in wich case you will not get rid of your problem first you should try to identify the pathogen dr's can be wreckless throwing anibiotics around like chicklets.all bacteria have become resistant because of this .so if you don't know what your treating see if you can identify it first if not then try a fungal test they are a specific test that needs to be ordered .
5684059 tn?1374435322 the process of heating kills the bacteria. I use to heat it up and than place it in fridge to cool back down. That way the bacteria was dead and I didn't have to eat hot lunch meat.
