Avatar f tn My dr says that I have heat induced hives and put me on 24 Zyrtec and 25mg of Benedryl. It worked for about a month and now I'm breaking out in hives again when I exercise. I haven't had any allergy tests done yet. A fitness friend of mine thinks that I might have a build up of toxins and when i sweat the toxins are being released. I haven't talked with my dr about that yet. Is there any truth to this? I do drink a good bit of regular soda.
Avatar n tn Hello, Without examination it is difficult confirming a diagnosis but it can be heat urticaria or hives. In this hives develop 2 to 5 minutes after contact with a warm stimulus and it disappears after 1 hour or so. Heat urticaria is diagnosed by apply a test tube of warm water to the skin of the forearm. The characteristic hives should develop within minutes. Take some antihistaminic like Benadryl or Claritin and apply some calamine lotion on the rashes.
1055603 tn?1254235958 I think i may have hives, ive never been known to be allergic to something. This past week i began to get little bumps that at first looked like a mosquito bite, and because of the habit i began to scratch it. Within a few minutes the one bump became several and it swoll up and was red. I would stop scratching and they eventually jus disappear out of nowwhere and i couldn't even tell that they were there.
Avatar f tn Sounds like heat bumps.
Avatar m tn To confirm the diagnosis, apply a test tube of warm water to the skin of the forearm. If there is any development of hives after 10-15 minutes, then you are having heat urticaria. Treatment of this condition is by antihistaminics, allergy shots and desensitization techniques. I hope that helps. Take care and regards.
1444901 tn?1284749942 not individual bumps ya know... looks like heat rash pictures online, but nothing unusual as far as sweating. Kinda looked like hives too but my seems like nothing out of ordinary in life has changed to cause hives. Now the rash has jumped up to just behind my arm pits more towards my back. also on one arm in the bend of my elbow. so basically entire groin area stopping immediately where pants fit on hips, bend in elbow, and arm pits... VERY VERY itchy..
Avatar f tn Cold cloths on the hives (works for normal ones and especially heat ones) a cool bath or sjower may help before you get them to keep them away or even help cool you off and not get them. Drink lots of cold water. Other than that I don't know natural remedies but heat rash on childer I put cool cloths on it it helps.

Avatar f tn Hives is phenomena that happens when the environment suddenly becomes toxic to the person or the person goes through an unnatural level of stress within minutes. Depending on the stress levels, after the stress has subsided the body reacts with Hives. Hives is a sign of low immunity within the body and the person themselves needs to live a different life away from tension and fear. There is an inherent gripping fear of some kind and Hives is physical reaction to it.
Avatar n tn you can give him benedryl if you can get him to take it because it does taste nasty, but i use bactine for my daughters hives which is a topical clear liquid that is cooling and works fast. hives are itchy irregular raise patches of redness and heat can heighten an allergic reaction if your son has been out in the heat when the rash came. it may also be heat rash, but the benedryl and bactine would do him no harm if you give them and they are not what is needed.
Avatar m tn Hello, From the symptoms contact dermatitis, sweat dermatitis, folliculitis, hives and heat rash need to be ruled out. Take some antihistaminic like Benadryl or Claritin and apply some calamine lotion on the rash. Also wear cotton clothes and apply a mild steroid cream if the symptoms are severe. If the symptoms persist then please get it examined from a dermatologist.
1325531 tn?1274819105 Hello, From the symptoms it can be hives, sweat dermatitis or heat rash. Avoid using any lotions and creams for the meantime. Use a mild cleanser with moisturizing properties like Cetaphil. Try keeping the skin free of sweat as far as possible. If the symptoms still persist then you can apply mild steroid like dermacort. For the itching antihistaminics like Benadryl or Claritin can be taken. If there is any blister which scabs over, then get cold sores ruled out.
Avatar m tn The hives lasted well into the evening and still had a bit remaining the next morning. I took pictures of the hives and showed them to my family doctor who confirmed that I had definitely had an "allergic reaction to something" (confirmed allergic rash, as opposed to other types of rash).
Avatar f tn I know you can get heat rashes on your upper body and on your feet. But can you get them on your legs on areas such as inner thighs and shins? Everytime it's warm up or humid, I always get this rash looking thing on my legs. My legs start to break out so bad. And I have tried lotion, but it hurts or burns especially after i shave. And sometimes i would put lotion after i shave, and it hurts. But my question is why do i get strange rash looking things on my legs?
Avatar n tn that the doctor thinks is dermographisin (the doctor saw pictures I took). She has never had anything like this happen to her before. I WAS WITH HER THE WHOLE TIME (I even took pictures and video) while it was happening. It started all of a sudden, while she was naked and getting ready to take a bath. She WAS NOT ITCHING when it happened, and she NOT ONCE TOUCHED HER SKIN IN ANY WAY. She came to me crying saying that she felt as if someone scrathed her in the side of her buttock.
Avatar m tn Hello, first time poster here. So, I woke up this morning after sleeping on the floor (family over), and I was sweating. To think of it, I was sweating all night. I began to itch once I was awake and noticed a large hive/rash on both my inner thighs, inner arms, outer chest(near nipples), and on the inner elbow of one arm.I slept on my right side and on that side(chest/arm wise) the rash seems to be larger. Is this a heat rash? or some kind of allergic reaction?
Avatar n tn Dear Dr Aparna, Thank you for your detail explanation. He told me he ate alot of strawberries for the past 2 weeks. Is this the possible cause? Can anti-histamines be bought in drug stores or it has to be prescribed by doctors?
Avatar f tn If you put into your search engine, images of mild hives, pictures do look like yours (to me). However, we can look at what else it could be as well. They could also be contact dermatitis. https://www.webmd.com/skin-problems-and-treatments/contact-dermatitis#1 Eczema also can cause itchy raised bumps (treatable with over the counter creams but again, get diagnosed first).
Avatar m tn Some people get hives in response to too much heat or too much cold, or sometimes other triggers (my grandfather apparently gets it from water--my grandmother jokes he's the only boy allergic to soap and water). I don't think it's at all dangerous, just annoying, and the only thing I know of to do is avoid the trigger. Ask your doctor about it, they might be able to give you something for it (I just know it happens, not what to do for it other than avoid).
Avatar n tn My question is,what is it when i take a shower and i start to brake out in hives,or during the day my alergies at up and i start to get a rash all over my body.Been having this proublem for a long time.
Avatar m tn I have these red hives all over my body. The worst parts are my neck and shoulders lower and lsupper sides my buttox and lower back and around my genatitals. Was told by my gp it was prickely heat and i was given creams and antihistemines. I think my doc is a mile off. Any suggestions thanks?
Avatar f tn Hello, From the symptoms and picture,it looks like hives. Many cases of hives are "idiopathic," meaning no cause is known. Others may be triggered by viral infections or medications. The mainstay of treatment of hives is antihistamine which may be necessary for prolonged periods (in excess of 6 weeks). You can take non-sedating antihistamines such as Cetirizine(Zyrtec) or Loratadine(Claritin) to get symptom relief.
