heat

Avatar f tn He said it was very common and only certain antibiotics will cure it. The hives came from the type of bacterial infection... Once you get it cleared up, it shouldn't come back.
Avatar f tn My dr says that I have heat induced hives and put me on 24 Zyrtec and 25mg of Benedryl. It worked for about a month and now I'm breaking out in hives again when I exercise. I haven't had any allergy tests done yet. A fitness friend of mine thinks that I might have a build up of toxins and when i sweat the toxins are being released. I haven't talked with my dr about that yet. Is there any truth to this? I do drink a good bit of regular soda.
Avatar f tn The sudden spike in histamine levels can cause an outbreak of hives in the upper layers of the skin. Hives are often caused by a hypersensitivity to: •Foods (commonly eggs, shellfish, nuts, berries, dyes, or other additives) •Drugs (any drug can touch off an allergic reaction, although allergies to penicillin, sulfa, and aspirin are especially common) •Pollens and plants (nettles, poison ivy, poison oak, and so on) •Animal fur •Insect bites or stings •Exposure to heat, cold, or sunshine.
Avatar m tn Taken together they did cure my hives...but when I tried to go off of them, my body went into shock and so much histamine was released that I was a swollen walking hive from head to toe. ouch. but I refused to drug myself that much each day (and it cost $100 a month for me to afford the meds...so, I had to stop). The good news was that by my taking Synthroid for my thyroid disease, my hives became a very mute issue within 3 months. My body was back in balace and the hives stayed at bay.
Avatar m tn Hello, From the symptoms it can be hives, sweat dermatitis or heat rash. Avoid using any lotions and creams for the meantime. Use a mild cleanser with moisturizing properties like Cetaphil. Also use cotton clothes and change the clothes twice if there is any increased sweating. Try keeping the skin free of sweat as far as possible. If the symptoms still persist then you can apply mild steroid like dermacort. For the itching antihistaminics like Benadryl or Claritin can be taken.
Avatar f tn Sounds like heat bumps.
Avatar m tn To confirm the diagnosis, apply a test tube of warm water to the skin of the forearm. If there is any development of hives after 10-15 minutes, then you are having heat urticaria. Treatment of this condition is by antihistaminics, allergy shots and desensitization techniques. I hope that helps. Take care and regards.
Avatar f tn Cold cloths on the hives (works for normal ones and especially heat ones) a cool bath or sjower may help before you get them to keep them away or even help cool you off and not get them. Drink lots of cold water. Other than that I don't know natural remedies but heat rash on childer I put cool cloths on it it helps.

Avatar f tn Hives is phenomena that happens when the environment suddenly becomes toxic to the person or the person goes through an unnatural level of stress within minutes. Depending on the stress levels, after the stress has subsided the body reacts with Hives. Hives is a sign of low immunity within the body and the person themselves needs to live a different life away from tension and fear. There is an inherent gripping fear of some kind and Hives is physical reaction to it.
Avatar n tn you can give him benedryl if you can get him to take it because it does taste nasty, but i use bactine for my daughters hives which is a topical clear liquid that is cooling and works fast. hives are itchy irregular raise patches of redness and heat can heighten an allergic reaction if your son has been out in the heat when the rash came. it may also be heat rash, but the benedryl and bactine would do him no harm if you give them and they are not what is needed.
Avatar n tn My young son has small rash patches that almst look like small hives, with redness around the raised welts and warm almost hot to the touch. The stange thing is that these patches appear suddenly, and then disappear just as suddenly, generally in under 30 minutes. The patches appear on his face, arms, legs, and torso, even a couple on his scalp. This has been going on for 48 hours, and there does not seem to be any discernible trigger. No new soaps of foods.
Avatar n tn s impossible to find out exactly why hives have formed. The most common foods that cause hives are nuts, chocolate, fish, tomatoes, eggs, fresh berries, and milk. Certain food additives and preservatives may also be to blame. Hives caused by direct physical stimulation of the skin -- for example, cold, heat, sun exposure, vibration, pressure, sweating, and exercise is called physical urticaria. The hives usually occur right where the skin was stimulated and rarely appear elsewhere.
Avatar f tn I know you can get heat rashes on your upper body and on your feet. But can you get them on your legs on areas such as inner thighs and shins? Everytime it's warm up or humid, I always get this rash looking thing on my legs. My legs start to break out so bad. And I have tried lotion, but it hurts or burns especially after i shave. And sometimes i would put lotion after i shave, and it hurts. But my question is why do i get strange rash looking things on my legs?
Avatar m tn Hello, first time poster here. So, I woke up this morning after sleeping on the floor (family over), and I was sweating. To think of it, I was sweating all night. I began to itch once I was awake and noticed a large hive/rash on both my inner thighs, inner arms, outer chest(near nipples), and on the inner elbow of one arm.I slept on my right side and on that side(chest/arm wise) the rash seems to be larger. Is this a heat rash? or some kind of allergic reaction?
Avatar n tn Dear Dr Aparna, Thank you for your detail explanation. He told me he ate alot of strawberries for the past 2 weeks. Is this the possible cause? Can anti-histamines be bought in drug stores or it has to be prescribed by doctors?
Avatar n tn It fits all the descriptions of a heat rash but it has been a week now and they are not on the neck, in the groin, under the breasts, or in elbow creases. Just on my arms and legs! I have tried hydrocortizone but as suspected, it was too moist for the area and made the rash feel worse. I am staying away from the New York City sun, no longer jogging at high noon but there is still no sign of improvement. I just got laid off and I am without medical insurance (can't afford Cobra).
Avatar n tn Hello, Without examination it is difficult confirming a diagnosis but it can be heat urticaria or hives. In this hives develop 2 to 5 minutes after contact with a warm stimulus and it disappears after 1 hour or so. Heat urticaria is diagnosed by apply a test tube of warm water to the skin of the forearm. The characteristic hives should develop within minutes. Take some antihistaminic like Benadryl or Claritin and apply some calamine lotion on the rashes.
Avatar f tn I have recently suffered from what the doctor's called hives. I was having a terrible itch started on my feet then once itched spread to my entire body. From the itching i would developed large welts, everywhere i itched. They gave me a cocktail they called it. Then said i was having a allergic reaction to something??? The question is What. Still do not know. How ever it has been 4 weeks and i am still suffering. They say hives take time to go away. Really!
Avatar m tn Some people get hives in response to too much heat or too much cold, or sometimes other triggers (my grandfather apparently gets it from water--my grandmother jokes he's the only boy allergic to soap and water). I don't think it's at all dangerous, just annoying, and the only thing I know of to do is avoid the trigger. Ask your doctor about it, they might be able to give you something for it (I just know it happens, not what to do for it other than avoid).
Avatar n tn My question is,what is it when i take a shower and i start to brake out in hives,or during the day my alergies at up and i start to get a rash all over my body.Been having this proublem for a long time.
