Avatar f tn A year ago I believe I suffered some heat exhaustion/stroke and since then, when i start getting hot during activities, i get chills up and down my spine, arms and legs. My calf muscle on my left side will tingle/becomes numb, i get dizzy , my face gets red, i can feel my heart pounding in my head and my breathing is rapid but shallow and i have trouble regulating it for a few minutes. It scares me.
Avatar f tn As a coach I have to be extremely careful with my players after any bout with the heat. They are more likely to experience another incident and the next time it is usually worse and takes even longer to recover from.
Avatar f tn Dehydration can cause nausea and lead to a vicious cycle where the dehydration and heat do lead to heat exhaustion because the nausea prevents the intake of fluids which just adds to the dehydration and leads to the body getting hotter and hotter.
Avatar m tn My husband suffered heat exhaustion a few days ago. He ran a fever of 101 all night w/ sweating off and on. Thinking he would be in the a/c he went back to work the next day and had to be outside to fix a part on the equipment he was running which set him off to a severe headache, he quit sweating, dry and hot, his muscles were starting to cramp and he said he felt like he could vomit, but never did. He had all the symptoms of a stroke, but didn't lose consciousness.
Avatar m tn You might be losing too many salts due to sweating and on that exhaustion episode might have lost minerals in salts. You have to rehydreate yourself with water and salts. Measure your blood pressure and keep it in normal range and go for testing of your minerals. Take care!
Avatar f tn Hi, It is good that you are feeling better already. Heat-related illness such as heat exhaustion occurs when your body gets too hot. This can be caused by physical exercise or hot weather. It can present with heavy sweating, feeling weak, dizziness, nausea, headache, fast heartbeat and dark-colored urine, which indicates dehydration. It is important that you get out of the heat quickly. Drink plenty of water or other fluids.
Avatar f tn Some days he has no problem with the heat more so than anyone else, but quite often lately he has been showing signs of heat exhaustion, when he was younger he suffered a heat stroke, we are pretty sure that's what it was, my question is does it seem more likely that this is an intolerance to the heat, or seem like an anxiety issue?
Avatar f tn s important to know the signs/symptoms of heat exhaustion and heat stroke and steps you can take to prevent them. Medications can also affect the body's ability to regulate temperature, so it might be worth asking your pharmacist some questions on this topic. It was brutal here yesterday with the temperature hitting 101 and the heat index registering 116. Hope everybody stays cool and has a great weekend.
384150 tn?1399904816 Yes, I had chills like I had a fever. It only lasted a week or so, then I was always hot!
Avatar m tn It may or may not be heat exhaustion. You need to check with your doctor, have a thorough assessment dose. Do you have a history of anxiety? How do you manage that?
Avatar m tn It has really interfered with my ability to think clearly and lucidly. Is it possible that these car naps caused me to have some sort of heat exhaustion damage to my brain? Even if I were extremely exhausted, would my body be alerted out of sleep when the temperature or CO2 level gets too high before any damage to my nervous system begins? I have been to a neurologist several years ago and he says that eventually the headaches will go away.
576875 tn?1217987525 Since beginning Lotrel in 2007 I have had a recurrence of severe muscle pain and weakness. I also suffered heat exhaustion in 2006 and now cannot tolerate more than 6 hours in, 90degree plus, heat. I sometimes have night sweats, and chills. My feet are so painful that I take Advil to sleep. My doctor tells me that it is just aging. This is not accurate because otherwise I am perfectly healthy mentally and physically.
Avatar f tn When I was 5-9 weeks, I was shivering all the time... Even while bundled up and even with heat on. It got old... Real fast. Thank goodness THAT symptom went away.
Avatar f tn I could not control the chills and nothing would make me warm. The episode lasted about 30 mins. Then the chills came back again during the day while I was at work.. and di not stop until much later that afternoon. I had to go home and put several layers of clothing on me until it stopped. Of course, when it stopped I realized I was very hot and sweeaty. I kept going from feeling very cold to feeling very hot all night and even today.
Avatar m tn i was walking in the sun for probably 3 hours it was very hot 46 c this day, suddenly i felt my heart is racing and beating so fast with 3 ectopic beats in very few second, i stopped and put my hand on my heart it was beating too fast and strong, i cooled myself down and drank some fluids it all went back to normal(but the ectopic beats lasted for a week), went to a cardiologist he said i'm fine and it's just heat exhaustion, is it AFib or just palpitations with heat exhaustion?

927213 tn?1270011366 t know. Did she have any symptoms of heat exhaustion going alongside this weakness in her legs? (Such as: heavy panting/breathing TOO deeply/salivation/distress of any kind?).....[later stages include: dry gums as the heat prostration progresses, weakness, confusion or inattention, vomiting or diarrhea and sometimes bleeding. Avatar m tn The story: I'm a self employed artist, very active, now on wk 10 of the triple treatment. The first 6 weeks were OK, and I was able to to keep the 'routine' going: 5 mile morning walk, 6hrs of fixing up the house (it's what an artist does these days..), and several hours of productive studio time when it became too hot to work outside. The noticable, but tolerable effects were less 'oomph', and a shortage of breath.
