Avatar m tn My husband suffered heat exhaustion a few days ago. He ran a fever of 101 all night w/ sweating off and on. Thinking he would be in the a/c he went back to work the next day and had to be outside to fix a part on the equipment he was running which set him off to a severe headache, he quit sweating, dry and hot, his muscles were starting to cramp and he said he felt like he could vomit, but never did. He had all the symptoms of a stroke, but didn't lose consciousness.
Avatar f tn Dehydration can cause nausea and lead to a vicious cycle where the dehydration and heat do lead to heat exhaustion because the nausea prevents the intake of fluids which just adds to the dehydration and leads to the body getting hotter and hotter.
Avatar m tn You might be losing too many salts due to sweating and on that exhaustion episode might have lost minerals in salts. You have to rehydreate yourself with water and salts. Measure your blood pressure and keep it in normal range and go for testing of your minerals. Take care!
Avatar f tn A year ago I believe I suffered some heat exhaustion/stroke and since then, when i start getting hot during activities, i get chills up and down my spine, arms and legs. My calf muscle on my left side will tingle/becomes numb, i get dizzy , my face gets red, i can feel my heart pounding in my head and my breathing is rapid but shallow and i have trouble regulating it for a few minutes. It scares me.
Avatar f tn My husband is 32 yo and has been laying brick off and on his whole teen-adult life. He has always gotten sick before doing anything high stress. Before work in the morning he throws up every time almost. We chalked that up to possible anxiety, but here more often lately even on mornings with no sickness, he gets out to work and we aren't sure if he gets too hot or what, but he starts vomiting and getting almost like chills or trembles and has to come back home.

Avatar m tn It has really interfered with my ability to think clearly and lucidly. Is it possible that these car naps caused me to have some sort of heat exhaustion damage to my brain? Even if I were extremely exhausted, would my body be alerted out of sleep when the temperature or CO2 level gets too high before any damage to my nervous system begins? I have been to a neurologist several years ago and he says that eventually the headaches will go away.
910699 tn?1242769468 No she is not pregnet she has never gone into heat yeat and she does not go around other dogs.
Avatar f tn m constantly exhausted and too tired to do anything, i have pre-menstrual symptoms (usually feel a bit flu-like and a lot more nauseous), i have polycystic ovaries (though no other signs of PCOS- i am normal weight), and i apparently have gastritis, thought that diagnosis was made after a gastroscopy 2 years ago and i never got it properly treated, I cannot tolerate the normal estrogen pill, it makes me vomit for hours after taking it- even the low dose ones make me incredibly nauseous.
268698 tn?1222553884 What a relief! I'm so glad you made the call. :-) Sorry if I sounded curt in my initial response. My only excuse is that (1) I was just leaving the house; and (2) so many times we have obviously serious emergencies posted here because the posters only want to avoid paying for vet treatment. I try not to get angry because I understand when people hit hard times - I've been there more times than I can count myself.
Avatar f tn Hi, It is good that you are feeling better already. Heat-related illness such as heat exhaustion occurs when your body gets too hot. This can be caused by physical exercise or hot weather. It can present with heavy sweating, feeling weak, dizziness, nausea, headache, fast heartbeat and dark-colored urine, which indicates dehydration. It is important that you get out of the heat quickly. Drink plenty of water or other fluids.
Avatar f tn I don't know about early labor but you could easily get heat exhaustion or heat stroke so take extra care and make sure you are staying hydrated and do anything you can to try and keep yourself cool.

Avatar f tn I had heat exhaustion yesterday. I had all the classic symptons. What are the after effects of heat exhausttion? Thank you.
Avatar m tn I have Type 2 Chiari Malformation and have had two surgeries for it, one and 14 to remove part of my skull. c1 and c2. The second at 16 was to put a metal plate in my neck after my spinal cord began being pinched. I used to get bad headaches, swallowing problems, asthma, my eye turned in, balance issues. Most problems were fixed, but now I am in constant joint pain, lactose and tolerant, allergic to shrimp, stomach problems, sleeping problems, I am unable to throw up.
6730215 tn?1384203877 I vomit once to two times a day everyday. There is usually blood in my vomit. Some days i will not vomit but i will have severe nausea. I've gotten several tests done like: Blood tests, ultra sounds, Upper GI, and I got scoped. On all of my tests there was nothing abnormal. In the beginning they said it was acid reflux, then gastritis. The prescribed me prevacid, then added zofran to help nausea, and now antibiotics.
927213 tn?1270011366 t know. Did she have any symptoms of heat exhaustion going alongside this weakness in her legs? (Such as: heavy panting/breathing TOO deeply/salivation/distress of any kind?).....[later stages include: dry gums as the heat prostration progresses, weakness, confusion or inattention, vomiting or diarrhea and sometimes bleeding. As the condition progresses towards heat prostration or heat stroke there may be obvious paleness or graying to the gums.
Avatar m tn I have had 2 heart attacks (age 46 and 48) from clots in a tiny artery, branch of a branch of LAD and ever since have issues breathing when it's humid outside. I am working for 1 month in a carpenter shop with no A/C, only fans and it has been as high as 99. I think I've gotten heat exhaustion twice now, missed 2 days of work. This is not my career, only a 1 month learning experience and I'm considering going to half days, early mornings only.
Avatar f tn My mother and I attributed his symptoms to that of heat exhaustion due to his occupation (warehouse work/no air conditioning/Texas heat). This day in particular, we brought him home, cooled him down, made sure he had plenty of fluids, and his symptoms seemed to subside. A few days passed and he still didn't seem himself but he wasn't complaining about anything in particular. Yesterday, he phoned my mom while at work complaining of the same symptoms.
Avatar f tn It turned out to be heat exhaustion. I live in Florida with all the wonderful humidity. Turns out someone cut the wires to our outside air conditioning unit. I feel loads better now though :) even better than normal.
Avatar n tn It sounds like your dog is suffering from heat exhaustion, so make sure she has access to plenty of fresh water. Heat exhaustion can quickly go to full-blown heat stroke which can be fatal if not treated. Hosing her down with the water hose in the heat of the day or after a walk will help. I recall my boss from several years ago who had an Italian Greyhound who nearly died of heat stroke here in Texas.
