Avatar f tn Dehydration can cause nausea and lead to a vicious cycle where the dehydration and heat do lead to heat exhaustion because the nausea prevents the intake of fluids which just adds to the dehydration and leads to the body getting hotter and hotter.
Avatar f tn Hi, It is good that you are feeling better already. Heat-related illness such as heat exhaustion occurs when your body gets too hot. This can be caused by physical exercise or hot weather. It can present with heavy sweating, feeling weak, dizziness, nausea, headache, fast heartbeat and dark-colored urine, which indicates dehydration. It is important that you get out of the heat quickly. Drink plenty of water or other fluids.
Avatar f tn I'm a golfer playing in Missouri now in temperatures in mid to high 90's and with heat index over 100. We call it "Survival Gold". All sorts of usual symptoms occur to people from thermal (heat) stress leading to heat exhaustion, heat prostration and the potentially fatal "heat stroke". If this only occurs playing golf in hot weather and in the sun and no other times then it likely is a part of heat stress for you.
Avatar m tn You might be losing too many salts due to sweating and on that exhaustion episode might have lost minerals in salts. You have to rehydreate yourself with water and salts. Measure your blood pressure and keep it in normal range and go for testing of your minerals. Take care!
Avatar f tn To me what you are describing whilst exercising (running), wouldn't actually be unexpected, if you are also getting hot and sweating more readily even when your not running. You'd be hitting heat exhaustion/heat stroke territory a lot faster than normal, if your body already isn't cooling through your skin properly, the addition of running would be demanding oxygen goes to the muscles in your legs and away from your skin.
Avatar f tn A year ago I believe I suffered some heat exhaustion/stroke and since then, when i start getting hot during activities, i get chills up and down my spine, arms and legs. My calf muscle on my left side will tingle/becomes numb, i get dizzy , my face gets red, i can feel my heart pounding in my head and my breathing is rapid but shallow and i have trouble regulating it for a few minutes. It scares me.
Avatar n tn I got heat exhaustion (Or similar) while at work during wed/thursday last week, and I still can't handle any semblence of heat, my eyesight is goofy, and my mind sluggish. I have a terrible sense of balance and I have trouble typing properly, I sometimes have to type the same word over ten to fifteen times to spell it right. Even if it's something simple like 'the'.
Avatar n tn My husband has had a severe headache (mainly at the top of his head) for three days. He did cut trees in the sun so we thought it might be heat exhaustion. He has tried tylenol, aspirin, and decongestants. The only relief has been when he holds a towel with ice on the top of his head. We don't have insurance but now I'm getting worried since the headache hasn't eased up.

402504 tn?1241996524 t heard of with MS. It is typical of somebody with heat stroke or heat exhaustion, however. When somebody first gets heatstroke, or just extremely overheated, they'll get nauseous. I don't usually recommend Gatorade, as it's such a high-calorie drink, but try half-and-half Gatorade and water. It'll help rehydrate you and replenish some salts. I live in Texas too, and on Saturday it was so hot and humid, I seriously considered moving.
Avatar m tn It has really interfered with my ability to think clearly and lucidly. Is it possible that these car naps caused me to have some sort of heat exhaustion damage to my brain? Even if I were extremely exhausted, would my body be alerted out of sleep when the temperature or CO2 level gets too high before any damage to my nervous system begins? I have been to a neurologist several years ago and he says that eventually the headaches will go away.
Avatar m tn I ended up with extremely severe heat exhaustion toward the end of the ride, I probably should have went to the ER following my return home. Upon awaking the next day I had a severe, crushing headache with pressure. Four weeks after this incident I have sensations of vertigo when moving my head side to side, up or down, or bouncing my head such as when I run.....it's as if my eyes can't follow along with my head.
Avatar n tn I was feeling fine before the scan. The reson for the scan was from heat exhaustion symptoms (including dizziness, tunnel vision, headaches) last week. When the scan started, my eyes were closed and I felt an intense pressure behind both eyes. It almost felt like my eyes were being pushed or sucked out of my socket. When the scan was done, I got up and stumbled. The tech asked me to sit back down and I felt normal. Soon after, I would keep feeling the same eye pressure behind my eyes.
Avatar f tn I am from Arizona and before that I lived in South Carolina so I am used to heat and I know what heat exhaustion feels like and this was like nothing I have experienced before. I had only been outside for about an hour when all of a sudden I got very nauseous and felt a little lightheaded so I went to sit down and within a couple minutes I started seeing white patches in my vision and I could barely see at all.
Avatar f tn I don't know about early labor but you could easily get heat exhaustion or heat stroke so take extra care and make sure you are staying hydrated and do anything you can to try and keep yourself cool.
Avatar m tn i was walking in the sun for probably 3 hours it was very hot 46 c this day, suddenly i felt my heart is racing and beating so fast with 3 ectopic beats in very few second, i stopped and put my hand on my heart it was beating too fast and strong, i cooled myself down and drank some fluids it all went back to normal(but the ectopic beats lasted for a week), went to a cardiologist he said i'm fine and it's just heat exhaustion, is it AFib or just palpitations with heat exhaustion?

927213 tn?1270011366 t know. Did she have any symptoms of heat exhaustion going alongside this weakness in her legs? (Such as: heavy panting/breathing TOO deeply/salivation/distress of any kind?).....[later stages include: dry gums as the heat prostration progresses, weakness, confusion or inattention, vomiting or diarrhea and sometimes bleeding. As the condition progresses towards heat prostration or heat stroke there may be obvious paleness or graying to the gums.
352007 tn?1372857881 I have to agree with Lulu as it being neurological. Both heat exhaustion & Heat stroke result in high pulse rates but 68 is pretty much normal.
Avatar f tn 1) get tested at an autonomic clinic, 2) find out the underlining disease that may be causing POTS 3) find Neuro and Cardio doctors who know POTS (for my son we see only the Neuro, the Cardio doctors have been no help), 4) try IV Saline solutions, 5) test ability to sweat, 6) know that she may outgrow this, 7) more research is continually being done in this field, keep searching online for new updates (Dynainc.
Avatar m tn I have had 2 heart attacks (age 46 and 48) from clots in a tiny artery, branch of a branch of LAD and ever since have issues breathing when it's humid outside. I am working for 1 month in a carpenter shop with no A/C, only fans and it has been as high as 99. I think I've gotten heat exhaustion twice now, missed 2 days of work. This is not my career, only a 1 month learning experience and I'm considering going to half days, early mornings only.
