Common Questions and Answers about Heat exhaustion the next day

heat

Avatar f tn As a coach I have to be extremely careful with my players after any bout with the heat. They are more likely to experience another incident and the next time it is usually worse and takes even longer to recover from.
Avatar m tn This heat exhaustion is only for that episode the complications do not continue like a disease if your replenish your salts and minerals and continue drinking sufficient water. Only if you had a stroke, unconsciousness then you have to worry. Now check your mineral balance and keep it on track or else visit a Physician for further course of action. Take care!
Avatar f tn Live in Florida as well. I just drink ice water all the time when I'm outside and try to stay in the shade.
11119474 tn?1428702170 ve got a river running down my leg. lol My DH thought he understood what the heat did to me but during last summers, 10 day record heat wave and our airconditioner on the fritz, by day 3 i was really scaring him and now he gets it.
Avatar f tn Dehydration can cause nausea and lead to a vicious cycle where the dehydration and heat do lead to heat exhaustion because the nausea prevents the intake of fluids which just adds to the dehydration and leads to the body getting hotter and hotter.
Avatar m tn He ran a fever of 101 all night w/ sweating off and on. Thinking he would be in the a/c he went back to work the next day and had to be outside to fix a part on the equipment he was running which set him off to a severe headache, he quit sweating, dry and hot, his muscles were starting to cramp and he said he felt like he could vomit, but never did. He had all the symptoms of a stroke, but didn't lose consciousness.
Avatar n tn 3 weeks ago he worked in the yard in 100 degree temps for several hours. The next day he woke up with the same symptoms as the stroke 6 years ago and we assumed he had another stroke. The MRI, CTScan shows no new stroke, but his symptoms continue and he doesn't seem to be getting much better. He has lost his job due to the memory loss issues. Any thoughts on what could have happened? We are seeing a neuropsychologist.
Avatar m tn I ended up with extremely severe heat exhaustion toward the end of the ride, I probably should have went to the ER following my return home. Upon awaking the next day I had a severe, crushing headache with pressure. Four weeks after this incident I have sensations of vertigo when moving my head side to side, up or down, or bouncing my head such as when I run.....it's as if my eyes can't follow along with my head.
Avatar f tn I have heard that muscle twitching can be linked to low magnesium. So I started taking a supplement. I also have been eating bananas and avocados. I just feel totally bogged down anymore. I just wonder if I possibly had a heatstroke years ago and they didn't realize it where I ended up having to go to the hospital the next day. The hospital in my town doesn't have a reputation of being the best. I've tried changing my diet and everything to see if it will help.
Avatar m tn i was walking in the sun for probably 3 hours it was very hot 46 c this day, suddenly i felt my heart is racing and beating so fast with 3 ectopic beats in very few second, i stopped and put my hand on my heart it was beating too fast and strong, i cooled myself down and drank some fluids it all went back to normal(but the ectopic beats lasted for a week), went to a cardiologist he said i'm fine and it's just heat exhaustion, is it AFib or just palpitations with heat exhaustion?
Avatar m tn I ask because 2 days lost, just to recover from heat exhaustion seems a bit longer if the heart was perfect. My heart is very damaged and normally I recover in a couple of hours, but of course we all are different.
Avatar m tn I drink a lot of water but when I go for a walk I get heat exhaustion dry mouth pell wight skin need to sit-down fast but I don't walk that much the wether her is 85 and I'm only 27 no I don't take any meds drugs or alcohol Is it heat exhaustion
Avatar f tn I don't know about early labor but you could easily get heat exhaustion or heat stroke so take extra care and make sure you are staying hydrated and do anything you can to try and keep yourself cool.
Avatar f tn The other day I went to a little celebration for my brother, which was held outside within 20 minutes I start feeling awful, and my head began to get numb..well, like when your foots asleep, my head was asleep, and my heart started beating funny, I was sitting in the shade, but it didn't seem to be getting better, so I got a cold bottle of water, which I drank within about 5 minutes, then I guess I drank it too fast, and had to run to the bathroom, and threw up twice.
Avatar f tn I agree with RockRose, tiredness is a normal part of pregnancy, but what your describing isnt normal, coupled with the swelling you really should get to your doctor and have a thourough check up as it may be the sign of something abit more serious
927213 tn?1270011366 dry gums as the heat prostration progresses, weakness, confusion or inattention, vomiting or diarrhea and sometimes bleeding. As the condition progresses towards heat prostration or heat stroke there may be obvious paleness or graying to the gums.] If those early signs were absent, then I would be more inclined to think it could be spinal trouble, or possibly something else. Many things can cause a dog to go 'off its legs'. Sometimes kidney complaints can do this. Has she been spayed?
Avatar m tn The sleep deprivation and sleeping in the car in the heat was certainly not healthy. It is likely that you experienced some degree of heat exhaustion if you were sleeping for such long hours in direct sunlight. Also it is concerning that you did not have ventilation in the car when you were sleeping. It is quite possible that you had been inspiring air poor in oxygen and have had a buildup of carbondioxide in the blood.
Avatar f tn But because you said she was cold and numb, she could have been in the late stages of heat exhaustion so you caught it in the transtion. Make sure she's drinking plenty of water all day before meets. I'm a cross country runner myself and it's very very important. If she can have her drink two to three water bottles full a day before running (if she does in the afternoon).
Avatar n tn Heat exhaustion can quickly go to full-blown heat stroke which can be fatal if not treated. Hosing her down with the water hose in the heat of the day or after a walk will help. I recall my boss from several years ago who had an Italian Greyhound who nearly died of heat stroke here in Texas. They had adopted the dog in winter, and one fine day in the middle of May when temps suddenly jumped to the low 90's, they looked out the window and saw the dog just laid out in the yard.
352007 tn?1372857881 t quite right for the remainder of the day. I did go back to the beach the next day, but I curtailed my photography to 2 hours then went back to my car, put on AC full blast for 20 min then went back out again. I allowed myself 4 hours of photography. When I walked back I was feeling very weak again, but not to the extent I was the day before where there was no muscle control, confusion, shortness of breath, etc. (Thank god). I was actually scared of it happening again. Sort of still am.
Avatar n tn Go see a neurologist let them know what is going on, this could be side effects from the heat exhaustion or it could be damage done, or you male or female, I ask this because female run a higher risk of having M.S. and some of the symptoms you described sound typical of M.S. either way get in to see a neurologist right away dont wait the neurologist should be able to help you figure out what is wrong and get you back on track...... good luck, dont wait too long...
Avatar f tn It could be a number of things...wonky hormones, low blood sugar, heat exhaustion...if it recurs you may want to talk to your health care provider.
Avatar f tn Dogs can get heat exhaustion and heat stroke just like people, and heat stroke can be fatal without immediate medical support. It's so easy to forget proper hydration and cooling during the beginning of the summer months. I'm guilty of that myself. Living in a sub-tropical region and being sensitive to heat, I have to force water and Gatorade down my throat regularly if I'm outside.
Avatar f tn I am totally feeling the heat girl! I almost don't wanna leave my a/c for fear of dehydration and heat exhaustion. And these hot flashes are the worst!
Avatar m tn I was walking in the sun for about two hours the weather was very hot it was 45 c i think, suddenly i felt like my heart is racing so fast with PVCs or skipped beats and i was sweating and very fatigued i went to a cool place where i drunk lots of fluids and it all went back to normal(but PVCs lasted for a week then it went away), was it Afib or just heat exhaustion? i want to a cardiologist and he said my heart muscle is fine, i run every day for 6 km, should i be concerned?
Avatar f tn s triggered by the heat. Have you been drinking LOTS of water and/or Gatorade? The spots in your vision could be pre-syncope symptoms. On the other hand, it could be a migraine with aura that is triggered by the stress of the heat. Either way, I'd recommend that you drink LOTS of water, or better yet, Gatorade to replace what your body's sweating out.
