Avatar n tn m on my feet 3 days a week for at least 10 hours. Suffered from heat exhaustion a month ago. Could the heat exhaustion have caused this unusual pain for me? I do have 4 herniated discs in my neck and suspect I have at least 1 in my lower back, have had 2 cortisone shots for cyatica many years ago, could any of these problems cause this problem I'm having in my legs? I don't have water on my knees, just pain behind them and that pain started several months ago.
Avatar m tn You might be losing too many salts due to sweating and on that exhaustion episode might have lost minerals in salts. You have to rehydreate yourself with water and salts. Measure your blood pressure and keep it in normal range and go for testing of your minerals. Take care!
Avatar f tn I have read several commments regarding heat stroke/exhaustion. No one has mentioned swelling. If I exert myself when temps are hot and humidity high, my face and ears swell up. They itch and are bright red. The only thing that seems to help is a steroid shot and prednisone pack. My face and ears will peel almost like a sunburn. Does this happen to anyone out there? If I sweat during the night I will get itchy. Gold Bond medicated powder helps tremendously.
Avatar f tn A year ago I believe I suffered some heat exhaustion/stroke and since then, when i start getting hot during activities, i get chills up and down my spine, arms and legs. It scares me.
927213 tn?1270011366 t know. Did she have any symptoms of heat exhaustion going alongside this weakness in her legs? (Such as: heavy panting/breathing TOO deeply/salivation/distress of any kind?).....[later stages include: dry gums as the heat prostration progresses, weakness, confusion or inattention, vomiting or diarrhea and sometimes bleeding. As the condition progresses towards heat prostration or heat stroke there may be obvious paleness or graying to the gums.
Avatar f tn I have arthritis in most of my joints, but I have more than one type of arthritis too. If you are looking for symptoms of osteoarthritis in the neck, they include pain, stiffness, tenderness, weakness, tingling or soarness in the arms, headaches and even balance problems.
Avatar f tn How many months post op are you? i'm six months and I'm still having pain in the neck. My recommendation use ice and heating packs as much as possible.
Avatar f tn I have been having some bad pain in the right side of my neck. I have always had some neck problems but it hasn't been this bad in awhile. On top of it all my right shoulder is hurting and so is my right arm. My arm muscle is so sore and feels so heavy and tight and I haven't done a whole lot. I have taken Tylenol and tried biofreeze but nothing is working. Has anyone else had this happen? I'm 9 weeks right now.
Avatar n tn My husband has had a severe headache (mainly at the top of his head) for three days. He did cut trees in the sun so we thought it might be heat exhaustion. He has tried tylenol, aspirin, and decongestants. The only relief has been when he holds a towel with ice on the top of his head. We don't have insurance but now I'm getting worried since the headache hasn't eased up.
Avatar n tn Hello, Since you have anhidrosis, excessive exercise can cause heat exhaustion and heat stroke. To prevent this, avoid excessive exercise, exercise in cooler climate, drink plenty of water, wear appropriate clothing and avoid drinking caffeine or alcohol as these liquids are dehydrating. Also get an evaluation done from a physician and check out the possible cause of anhidrosis.
Avatar f tn E, and apparently it is muscle related. So I am on pain killers and heat packs, do seem a bit better, will keep an eye. Ang.
1903798 tn?1333905288 I have a nice pillow that I bought at JC Penney. It has little bean's in the inside. So when you lay your head down on them they form to your head. Also I recommend a warm heating be liner. All stores carry these. They are fixed under yu blanket so your heat doesn''t exscape like a heating blanket is. I also like my neck ring I wear this when I'. sitting in my head it is something a little softer for the head.
402504 tn?1241996524 t heard of with MS. It is typical of somebody with heat stroke or heat exhaustion, however. When somebody first gets heatstroke, or just extremely overheated, they'll get nauseous. I don't usually recommend Gatorade, as it's such a high-calorie drink, but try half-and-half Gatorade and water. It'll help rehydrate you and replenish some salts. I live in Texas too, and on Saturday it was so hot and humid, I seriously considered moving.

Avatar f tn I've had this problem for more than an year now. I was once studying at night and fell asleep on my study table. Woke up early in the morning and found my pain and back aching. Didn't seem much of a problem at that time. However the pain increased by afternoon. I didn't consider it any major thing and turned my head a bit sideways. It helped. Sort of. Momentarily. The pain became persistent and I again turned my head. This sort of became a habit and I've still been doing it!
586373 tn?1312031791 chest pain may be from breathing or heart problems, while breast pain is usually from hormonal problems. The "point of most pain" function is odd, I'm still trying to work out how to move it after it's been marked, and how to put up more than one.
Avatar m tn It has really interfered with my ability to think clearly and lucidly. Is it possible that these car naps caused me to have some sort of heat exhaustion damage to my brain? Even if I were extremely exhausted, would my body be alerted out of sleep when the temperature or CO2 level gets too high before any damage to my nervous system begins? I have been to a neurologist several years ago and he says that eventually the headaches will go away.
Avatar m tn You can try a pain relieving gel and heat regularly. Ibuprofen gel and a hot water bottle are my friends! Also try not to chew too much, have a mainly soft diet for a few days.
Avatar m tn For the last 3 days ive had waves of nausea, extreme headaches, fatigue, dizziness(as if my eyes want to cross, and sometimes feel like fainting), and cold sweats. Some have sayed the first days i had this it may be contributed to heat exhaustion but find it hard to believe days in a row. I have kept myself hydrated and eating well. In full admittance...
Avatar f tn I have had it for over a week and I have been taking pain killers and muscle relaxers I also put heat on it often. I am so upset about missing so much work.
Avatar n tn It sounds like your dog is suffering from heat exhaustion, so make sure she has access to plenty of fresh water. Heat exhaustion can quickly go to full-blown heat stroke which can be fatal if not treated. Hosing her down with the water hose in the heat of the day or after a walk will help. I recall my boss from several years ago who had an Italian Greyhound who nearly died of heat stroke here in Texas.
