576875 tn?1217987525 Since beginning Lotrel in 2007 I have had a recurrence of severe muscle pain and weakness. I also suffered heat exhaustion in 2006 and now cannot tolerate more than 6 hours in, 90degree plus, heat. I sometimes have night sweats, and chills. My feet are so painful that I take Advil to sleep. My doctor tells me that it is just aging. This is not accurate because otherwise I am perfectly healthy mentally and physically.
Avatar f tn A year ago I believe I suffered some heat exhaustion/stroke and since then, when i start getting hot during activities, i get chills up and down my spine, arms and legs. My calf muscle on my left side will tingle/becomes numb, i get dizzy , my face gets red, i can feel my heart pounding in my head and my breathing is rapid but shallow and i have trouble regulating it for a few minutes. It scares me.
Avatar n tn m on my feet 3 days a week for at least 10 hours. Suffered from heat exhaustion a month ago. Could the heat exhaustion have caused this unusual pain for me? I do have 4 herniated discs in my neck and suspect I have at least 1 in my lower back, have had 2 cortisone shots for cyatica many years ago, could any of these problems cause this problem I'm having in my legs? I don't have water on my knees, just pain behind them and that pain started several months ago.
Avatar f tn Dehydration can cause nausea and lead to a vicious cycle where the dehydration and heat do lead to heat exhaustion because the nausea prevents the intake of fluids which just adds to the dehydration and leads to the body getting hotter and hotter.
Avatar m tn You might be losing too many salts due to sweating and on that exhaustion episode might have lost minerals in salts. You have to rehydreate yourself with water and salts. Measure your blood pressure and keep it in normal range and go for testing of your minerals. Take care!
Avatar n tn My dad is under the care of a cognitive therapist and is scheduled to meet with a neuropsychologist later in September. Did your neuropsychologist consider the stroke/heat exhaustion connection? Did you find any behavior that improved your husbands situation e.g. more sleep, diet, exercise, vitamins?
Avatar m tn I was walking in the sun for about two hours the weather was very hot it was 45 c i think, suddenly i felt like my heart is racing so fast with PVCs or skipped beats and i was sweating and very fatigued i went to a cool place where i drunk lots of fluids and it all went back to normal(but PVCs lasted for a week then it went away), was it Afib or just heat exhaustion? i want to a cardiologist and he said my heart muscle is fine, i run every day for 6 km, should i be concerned?
Avatar n tn I thought that when you have a heat exhaustion or stroke from heat that you are dehydrated, Pain Meds? I really have not felt right since, but this other stuff started a few weeks ago. Let me know what you think, maybe I will find some direction from that. I have been having suicidal thoughts since this started. And yes I do have an appointment with a shrink on Monday, for that. This is not like me. I was a coach, I am a healthy food consumer. Is it possible to have alzheimers at my age.?
Avatar f tn Sounds like possible heat stroke/exhaustion . I know that some doctors don't like for you to "self diagnose" but it's worth mentioning. ERs are for emergencies and although a heat stroke is a true emergency, you waking up and passing out wouldn't give them the idea that it was heat stroke/exhaustion unless you forfeited the happenings of the prior day.
586373 tn?1312031791 I'm delighted to see that the new trackers are up. Here are some thoughts. EXERCISE TRACKER For starters, I've just opened this up and it's lost yesterday's data. It's great that it includes "moderate" and "vigorous" exercise (for the stationary bike); could you add "gentle"?
Avatar m tn heavy sweating, paleness, muscle cramps, tiredness, weakness, dizziness, headache, nausea or , fainting. If these condition persists, it would be best to see your doctor for proper management. Cooling measures that may be effective like drinking plenty of fluids, breaks from work, cool shower, and light weight clothing could help.(http://www.medicinenet.com/heat_exhaustion/article.
352007 tn?1372857881 I have to agree with Lulu as it being neurological. Both heat exhaustion & Heat stroke result in high pulse rates but 68 is pretty much normal.
Avatar f tn Hi I have been having major muscle spasms in my inner thighs after walking or say a day of shopping. Does any one else have this happen? Is this all part of MS? Also do the pins and needles system come and go as it wants?

Avatar m tn It has really interfered with my ability to think clearly and lucidly. Is it possible that these car naps caused me to have some sort of heat exhaustion damage to my brain? Even if I were extremely exhausted, would my body be alerted out of sleep when the temperature or CO2 level gets too high before any damage to my nervous system begins? I have been to a neurologist several years ago and he says that eventually the headaches will go away.
Avatar m tn These are muscle twitching or fasciculation caused by minor muscle contractions. The causes can vary from caffeine overdose, exercise, heat exhaustion, nutrient deficiency, stress and sudden withdrawal of certain medications like benzodiazepines, magnesium deficiency if you had prolonged diarrhea.
Avatar n tn It sounds like your dog is suffering from heat exhaustion, so make sure she has access to plenty of fresh water. Heat exhaustion can quickly go to full-blown heat stroke which can be fatal if not treated. Hosing her down with the water hose in the heat of the day or after a walk will help. I recall my boss from several years ago who had an Italian Greyhound who nearly died of heat stroke here in Texas.
Avatar f tn When exposed to the heat I seem to get really sick. I have heat exhaustion symptoms (red skin, headache, muscle weakness and cramps) yet I'm not dehydrated. I sweat very little. (I drink a lot, also pedia-lite and other electrolyte drinks; my urine is practically clear). It gets to the point where it's hard to breathe and only being in the cold and not moving helps (takes a few days to truly recuperate). But...I also have gastritis (delayed gastric emptying).
Avatar m tn I read about heat exhaustion and heat stroke but those happen during the exercise (if overdone), not an hour after in an air conditioned room and those symptoms are far more severe than what I had. My question is, why do I get a fever and drowsiness only an hour after the exercise but feel completely fine and barely tired (though sweating a lot) during and right after it? I drink a lot of water before and after.
Avatar f tn m managing the sickness but to all the other moms out there, what can I do for the extreme exhaustion? I literally feel weak like I have no muscle to do anything. Any advise or words of wisdom would be greatly appreciated.
Avatar n tn After two years of being constantly ill (fevers/weakness, arm and leg pain, numbness in arms and legs, dizziness, constant nausea, extreme exhaustion, stomach pain, diarrhea/constipation, extreme breast/nipple pain in one breast, overall muscle pain, eye floaters, eye focusing issues. Not a fun situation and, devastating, financially, after doctor/hospital bills, which are ongoing).
