Heat exhaustion loss of vision

Common Questions and Answers about Heat exhaustion loss of vision

heat

Avatar f tn s triggered by the heat. Have you been drinking LOTS of water and/or Gatorade? The spots in your vision could be pre-syncope symptoms. On the other hand, it could be a migraine with aura that is triggered by the stress of the heat. Either way, I'd recommend that you drink LOTS of water, or better yet, Gatorade to replace what your body's sweating out.
Avatar n tn My husband has had a severe headache (mainly at the top of his head) for three days. He did cut trees in the sun so we thought it might be heat exhaustion. He has tried tylenol, aspirin, and decongestants. The only relief has been when he holds a towel with ice on the top of his head. We don't have insurance but now I'm getting worried since the headache hasn't eased up.
Avatar n tn is where plaques build up on nerves in the brain hindering there ability to function properly, typical signs of M.S. are blurry vision or loss of sight in one or more eyes, loss of balance, loss of strength in hands or arms, or legs, basically the loss of motor functions in the body, it is possible that your symptoms where brought on by the heat exhaustion and may go away, but if it is something more, you need to take care of it before it gets out of hand, heat also affects people with M.S.
Avatar f tn I'm a golfer playing in Missouri now in temperatures in mid to high 90's and with heat index over 100. We call it "Survival Gold". All sorts of usual symptoms occur to people from thermal (heat) stress leading to heat exhaustion, heat prostration and the potentially fatal "heat stroke". If this only occurs playing golf in hot weather and in the sun and no other times then it likely is a part of heat stress for you.
Avatar f tn S I always see blurry vision among the symptoms of autonomic disfunction.. so that calms me down a bit.. but still..

Avatar n tn The key to me is that heat exhaustion triggered this lapse or acute stage of confusion and short term memory loss. My dad is under the care of a cognitive therapist and is scheduled to meet with a neuropsychologist later in September. Did your neuropsychologist consider the stroke/heat exhaustion connection? Did you find any behavior that improved your husbands situation e.g. more sleep, diet, exercise, vitamins?
Avatar m tn Is there such a condition as "heat sensitivity or heat intolerance" following a severe case of heat exhaustion or heat stroke? I've been a competitive athlete most of my life and ever since I suffered heat exhaustion a month ago, I experience very rapid heart rate, fatigue and dizziness when even sitting sedentary in a hot environment. Never experienced this before in my lifetime. No matter how much I hydrate beforehand, my body is reacting adversely while exposed to the heat.
Avatar n tn It sounds to me like simple heat exhaustion, which temporary memory loss can be a part of that. The way to prevent it from happening again is to ask your daughter to drink extra water, like every time she is in the bathroom, to drink a glass of water. Also, she should be put on a quality multivitamin and mineral supplement, which if a person gets dehydrated, they'll also tend to lose their electrolyte balance. And no more hot showers!
Avatar f tn it could be mild asthma, it could be low blood sugar, are u eating regularly? it could be mild heat exhaustion, r u where it is ofter hot? it could be mild allergies that only bother you when the wind stir them allergens up, pay attention to the circumstances that it happens under, keep a journal if u can, that may be the only way to know for sure.
Avatar f tn To me what you are describing whilst exercising (running), wouldn't actually be unexpected, if you are also getting hot and sweating more readily even when your not running. You'd be hitting heat exhaustion/heat stroke territory a lot faster than normal, if your body already isn't cooling through your skin properly, the addition of running would be demanding oxygen goes to the muscles in your legs and away from your skin.
576875 tn?1217987525 Since beginning Lotrel in 2007 I have had a recurrence of severe muscle pain and weakness. I also suffered heat exhaustion in 2006 and now cannot tolerate more than 6 hours in, 90degree plus, heat. I sometimes have night sweats, and chills. My feet are so painful that I take Advil to sleep. My doctor tells me that it is just aging. This is not accurate because otherwise I am perfectly healthy mentally and physically.
531005 tn?1286515532 The chances are the problem is vascular, meaning that temporary dilation of blood vessels causes a momentary loss of oxygen to the brain. There is always the one-in-a-thousand chance he has had an episode whose etiology is far more sinister. The "Angel-ofDeath" is always out there wandering around. At this point, it appears silly to bring to a hospital.
Avatar f tn A year ago I believe I suffered some heat exhaustion/stroke and since then, when i start getting hot during activities, i get chills up and down my spine, arms and legs. My calf muscle on my left side will tingle/becomes numb, i get dizzy , my face gets red, i can feel my heart pounding in my head and my breathing is rapid but shallow and i have trouble regulating it for a few minutes. It scares me.
Avatar m tn t used to this type of weather. Some end up in the hospital with heat stroke, heat exhaustion or dehydration.
Avatar m tn My husband suffered heat exhaustion a few days ago. He ran a fever of 101 all night w/ sweating off and on. Thinking he would be in the a/c he went back to work the next day and had to be outside to fix a part on the equipment he was running which set him off to a severe headache, he quit sweating, dry and hot, his muscles were starting to cramp and he said he felt like he could vomit, but never did. He had all the symptoms of a stroke, but didn't lose consciousness.
Avatar f tn Stupid me, I usually have one or two episodes of heat exhaustion before I get back in the swing of things. Same thing applies to our dogs. If they're outside all day, they need lots of water, shade and maybe even a baby pool to wallow in to cool off. Please let us know what the vet has to say. I'm hoping it's nothing too serious.
Avatar m tn Case report and review of the literature. RESULTS: The transient visual loss was exquisitely sensitive to intravenous corticosteroids and lasted longer than the typical Uhthoff phenomenon. Serum angiotensin-converting enzyme level was increased, chest x-ray showed hilar adenopathy, gallium scan disclosed bilateral intense tracer uptake in the hila, and transbronchial lung biopsy showed noncaseating granulomas with negative stains for fungi and mycobacteria, consistent with sarcoidosis.
