heat

Avatar f tn Dehydration can cause nausea and lead to a vicious cycle where the dehydration and heat do lead to heat exhaustion because the nausea prevents the intake of fluids which just adds to the dehydration and leads to the body getting hotter and hotter.
Avatar m tn This heat exhaustion is only for that episode the complications do not continue like a disease if your replenish your salts and minerals and continue drinking sufficient water. Only if you had a stroke, unconsciousness then you have to worry. Now check your mineral balance and keep it on track or else visit a Physician for further course of action. Take care!
546319 tn?1261636005 went out searching for a lost cat today in 97 degrees. You should seek medical attention for possible heat exhaustion or heat stroke - but also remember that your blood pressure may be doing all kinds of crazy things right now... so the doc will definitely check to be sure your blood pressure isn't elevated too.
Avatar f tn A year ago I believe I suffered some heat exhaustion/stroke and since then, when i start getting hot during activities, i get chills up and down my spine, arms and legs. My calf muscle on my left side will tingle/becomes numb, i get dizzy , my face gets red, i can feel my heart pounding in my head and my breathing is rapid but shallow and i have trouble regulating it for a few minutes. It scares me.
Avatar n tn It sounds like your dog is suffering from heat exhaustion, so make sure she has access to plenty of fresh water. Heat exhaustion can quickly go to full-blown heat stroke which can be fatal if not treated. Hosing her down with the water hose in the heat of the day or after a walk will help. I recall my boss from several years ago who had an Italian Greyhound who nearly died of heat stroke here in Texas.
Avatar m tn I drink a lot of water but when I go for a walk I get heat exhaustion dry mouth pell wight skin need to sit-down fast but I don't walk that much the wether her is 85 and I'm only 27 no I don't take any meds drugs or alcohol Is it heat exhaustion
Avatar m tn It is likely that you experienced some degree of heat exhaustion if you were sleeping for such long hours in direct sunlight. Also it is concerning that you did not have ventilation in the car when you were sleeping. It is quite possible that you had been inspiring air poor in oxygen and have had a buildup of carbondioxide in the blood. It is difficult to say whether it was this is the cause of your current headaches though.
Avatar f tn cramping in the legs is one of the signs of heat exhaustion that i know of bc of nursing school right now plz drink lots of fluid sit down for a bit and stay cool no matter what you do.... if any of it gets worse go to the hospital and plz be careful.
Avatar m tn i was walking in the sun for probably 3 hours it was very hot 46 c this day, suddenly i felt my heart is racing and beating so fast with 3 ectopic beats in very few second, i stopped and put my hand on my heart it was beating too fast and strong, i cooled myself down and drank some fluids it all went back to normal(but the ectopic beats lasted for a week), went to a cardiologist he said i'm fine and it's just heat exhaustion, is it AFib or just palpitations with heat exhaustion?

Did anyone else go through this? How do I prevent it or fight it? I see my ob May 5th but I need some ideas till then. Thanks!
927213 tn?1270011366 The water will only help a little, as it is still possible for a dog to get heat exhaustion even when wet. But if there is a breeze, the water on her will 'catch' the breeze and help cool her slightly. I hope your dog is ok. If it was caused by the heat, after resting in a cool place, and drinking water, she should be ok. But it is best to get her checked.
Avatar f tn Hi, It is good that you are feeling better already. Heat-related illness such as heat exhaustion occurs when your body gets too hot. This can be caused by physical exercise or hot weather. It can present with heavy sweating, feeling weak, dizziness, nausea, headache, fast heartbeat and dark-colored urine, which indicates dehydration. It is important that you get out of the heat quickly. Drink plenty of water or other fluids.
Avatar f tn I had heat exhaustion yesterday. I had all the classic symptons. What are the after effects of heat exhausttion? Thank you.
Avatar f tn Hi about 20 years ago I was diagnosed with fibromyalgia and chronic fatigue syndrome, I was also told at that time by an infectious disease doctor that I had EBV. I feel there is something else wrong with me because if I do what the doctors say then I'm in so much pain I can't move, I've had catatonic states, I can not control my body temperature if I get to cold it's like I have hypothermia, and if I get to hot it's like heat exhaustion.
Avatar m tn I remembered then in high school I got heat exhaustion when I went out for the field hockey team and had a fever of 103 and it took a whole day to recover and I was an athlete then, but not now. 2 of my coworkers have both lost days to heat so far and neither of them have heart issues so I'm being very cautious from now on.
5691681 tn?1375735348 I just really want someone to come watch my kids so i can clean my house in peace and then sleep for more than 30 minutes lol. I love my babies to death, but I'm flipping tired. It's hard being super mom lol. I have two friends, and we've lost contact because I'm too busy with my kids.
Avatar m tn My husband suffered heat exhaustion a few days ago. He ran a fever of 101 all night w/ sweating off and on. Thinking he would be in the a/c he went back to work the next day and had to be outside to fix a part on the equipment he was running which set him off to a severe headache, he quit sweating, dry and hot, his muscles were starting to cramp and he said he felt like he could vomit, but never did. He had all the symptoms of a stroke, but didn't lose consciousness.
1896537 tn?1381900009 It started off with a bout of vertigo which usually signals a relapse for me but this time nothing came of it this time apart from this exhaustion. I feel like the life has been drained from me and its an effort just to move and think clearly. I think it's probably ms fatigue but am going to get my blood tested as I've had problems with anaemia in the past and I don't want to assume everything is due to ms!
Avatar f tn How many of you get exhaustion to the point where you can't do anything after a certain point? I have about 6 hours and then thats it, I have to nap, it's like I don't have a choice. It's so hard with a little 6 year old as most of you know all too well. After the surgery, how long until you feel up to doing light housework etc...? Does your fatigue get any better after surgery? Sending good vibes...
Avatar f tn It turned out to be heat exhaustion. I live in Florida with all the wonderful humidity. Turns out someone cut the wires to our outside air conditioning unit. I feel loads better now though :) even better than normal.
Avatar f tn My 6 year old daughter has always had a very low tolerance to the heat. For example, when she is active in the heat she gets flushed immediately, sweats a lot for a girl her age, and eventually starts to "shut down". Last night, she was playing in an indoor playground which was quite warm. Within about an hour she was miserable and an hour later began vomiting.
