Just ask our Julie, Sarahsmom. So, symptoms that reappear after "accidentally" getting overheated should be reported to your doctor, but it is not proof that this is MS. It is just a piece of the puzzle.
Avatar n tn Hi, a few months ago i started having tongue cramps when i was nervous or anxious, such as during public speaking, however my cramps have started happening more often. They are often accompanied with slight lip twitches or 'grimmacing', and usually happen when i'm talking to people. I have recently moved to university which has been fairly stressful and was wondering if this could cause it?
5485096 tn?1375574235 Those are pseudo-exacerbations - a flare of our MS symptoms caused by infection or increase in our body temperature. The good news is those also go away once you clear up the infection. Sorry but I had to chuckle quietly as I read your message because I have done the same thing - oblivious to the possibility until it finally dawns on me that I am in the bathroom for the twentieth time or so before noon.
Avatar f tn I also started to get cramps in my hands during the day so I stopped the Prilosec, started taking Magnesium Citrate 3X a day and eating a banana before going to bed. The cramps are mostly gone. Instead of getting them from 2:30 on I now just get one around 7 and just get up and stay up. But, now my nausea is back. Not constant, it comes and goes throughout the day. It seems weird but if I can start doing something that engages my mind and body the nausea will go away.
Avatar f tn I'm 13 and I'm having backpains for about 30 hours already, at first it was like my back feels heavy at the lower middle part and then recently I have felt some pain at the right side also. The pain can be felt whenever I moved slightly and for comfort it seems like it wanted some stretch or bending and laying down. I'm not sure if it was caused by my sleeping positions, exercise, or whatever. What could it be and what caused it?
Avatar m tn He is a little overweight but not by much. He is a welder and he works in the heat. like today it was 102 out and he was in the heat welding, he has done it for 35 years, he says the heat doesn't bother him. He drinks plenty of fluids and has been drinking plenty of electrolytes. The doctor can't seem to help him, so I am willing to take any advice I can get. Absolutely anything would help. Is their a specialist he can see? Anything please! I really appreciate any responses.
Avatar n tn Hello, Without examination it is very difficult to confirm a diagnosis, but the symptoms are suggestive of prickly heat(malaria) or sweat dermatitis. Prickly heat (miliaria) is an itchy skin rash caused by trapped sweat. It tends to occur on areas of the body where skin touches skin, such as under the breasts, on the inner thighs, and under the arms. Tiny red spots with itching and pricking sensation are the characteristic appearance of this rash.
Avatar f tn If you cramps do not lessen with changing your diet over a period of 3-4 months, you may consider seeing your doctor. Severe menstrual cramps can sometimes be caused by a condition called Endometriosis.
Avatar f tn t think the hair loss was caused by the Synthroid. It was more likely coincidence. Hair loss can be a symptom of hypo and of many other things as well. Since you still have hair loss after d/cing almost 1.5 years ago, I doubt Synthroid is the culprit. The itching and the redness might indicate a dermatological problem. Have you explored that at all? Are you hypo? Yes, I think you are. The ranges for FT3 and FT4 are very flawed.
Avatar f tn ll be amazed at how quickly you become dehydrated, esepcially as the first trimester progresses. Also, leg cramps can be caused by a lack of vitamins, particularly potassium. Take your prenatals and eat bananas - it really does help. BEST WISHES w/your hpt!!!
Avatar m tn I am wondering if there are any exercises that will improve the herniated disc problem, but I am mostly concerned about the cramps, if it is being caused by the herniated disc. I dont have any other symptoms, like a virus or anything.

1904989 tn?1321776648 It sounds like you may be experiencing Charley horses (which are muscle cramps/ spasms) at night. These can be caused by a number of things including dehydration, low potassium, low calcium or low magnesium levels, or overuse or injury to the muscle. Charley horses are very painful. When you start to feel the pain you could try and alleviate it before it gets bad. You can massage the muscle, apply heat first and then ice once the cramping stops, NSAIDS such as ibuprofen can be helpful.
Avatar f tn Heat press does help with cramps just not to hot. i had them really bad my first 6 weeks and i found snuggling up with a heat pack and a comfy pillow helped.
Avatar f tn Cramps are nothing to worry about usually. If it gets really painful worse than an average period type cramo, I'd definitely get checked..
1724568 tn?1309622219 As you can see there is no one thing that can cause these cramps. However the certainty is that they are painful. I wish you well and hope that you can find a resolution. I'll look forward to your updates.
Avatar f tn Im also 5 weeks and having the same symptoms cramps, also gassy, & the runs (tmi). Its all normal from what I hear.
387113 tn?1313512083 Believe it or not, I mentioned this to my Rheumatologist the other day. She said that "cramps" CAN be relieved by Quinine. The old, tried and ture method. But she didn't say this was for the spasms caused by MS. This is for those muscle cramps that wake you up in the middle of the night, making you jump out of bed screaming. I guess it's trying to figure out what is a cramp and what is a spasm. I have found nothing that truly takes care of the spasms.
