Avatar m tn ve heard various solutions such as using antibacterial soap under sunscreen and taking antihystamines 2 weeks and during a holiday in the sun to try and prevent it from happening. Am wondering if anyone can PLEASE provide me with some advice of something that might work. I haven't tried antihystamines prior to any trip or antibacterial soaps. I have a couple of months until a europe summer trip and want to do all i can in an attempt to prevent it.
Avatar f tn I was recently in a rehab that was in a county jail. I was there for 6 months, and during this entire stay from Nov. 7 thru May 5, 2008 I did not see outside nor did I get to go outside. Now that I've been home and working outside I get this terrible rash on my arms, chest and back of my neck from the sun. I didn't over do it by staying out in the sun to long . I'm wondering if this is caused from no sun light for 6 months straight?
250701 tn?1320974765 For me it wasn't just the sun, but the combination of heat, sun and sweating that turned the rash into an ugly monster. Once it flares it's a bugger to calm back down. If you have any rash issues now, be very careful. If not, maybe try very short exposures and see - if you are willing to take the risk. Otherwise, wait until the end of treatment to soak up some rays.
Avatar f tn I believe my skin is extra sensitive to the heat because if I go out in the sun and my rash is covered, it will flare up due to heat rather sun exposure. Also, the same bumps appear every time. This past vacation, my right thigh got the worst of it. My left thigh wasn't as bad and then my core and upper arms got the rash pretty bad too. It's so frustrating. Why does this happen and why now?! My whole life I've been out in the heat and sun......
Avatar m tn I have never heard her say that sunblock makes any difference -- in her case anyway, it seems to be from the heat on the skin. Talk to your doctor. In the meantime, wear sleeves and a hat.
Avatar m tn Ten days after my arrival, when I am expose to the sun or to heat (start to sweat) my body itches (the whole arms, chest and back -- parts where I use to sweat more). After some research in google it is like miliaria rubra. Please advise.
Avatar f tn I have never had heat rash before, and have been out in the sun plenty in my lifetime...I went on vacation in Feb and after a week on the beach I ended up getting a nasty heat rash on my stomach, chest and arms. It eventually went away, but it was strange for me to get it. Then just this past week, I was out in the sun for the day and got another bad heat rash on my arms? What's going on? The only thing that is different is that I've been on birth control pills for the past 3 years.
1084398 tn?1277304810 Hi there, I'm on Rebif, but remember my nurse mentioning watching out for the sun and we weren't discussing pseudoexacerbations from heat - just the meds. I can't remember her exact words, but believe sun sensitivity was a possibility. Since they are totally different meds, I'll have to do some research into the instances sun sensitivity and DMDs. The dizzy is concerning, and I think you should mention it to the Dr.
Avatar m tn We tried taking benadryl, cold shower, aloe and all kinds of itch creams from the store they had in the hotel. Nothing worked. Each day for 6 days the rash got worse. The rash spread to other areas (legs, stomach etc.) and became more red and bumpy. We think it might be from the tanning oil we used? I have only experienced a minor rash on my hand 7 years ago in florida using and spf 4 sunscreen. She experienced a minor rash in Aruba using the same tanning oil.
Avatar f tn I started tx in March of 08 and finished in Aug 09. I could tolerate the sun at first but towards the end of the summer of 08 after 15 minutes in the sun I felt like I was on fire. Summer of 09 I had to stay covered up with any exposure to the sun because the heat felt so intense on my skin and I felt like I was frying even with sunblock. This summer I've made up for it. No problems. Definitely the treatment drugs and once you stop treatment things should go back to normal.
Avatar f tn Being i was pretty much an outdoor person i was lucky the sun didn't cause me any problems but the heat sure got to me... As for tanning, good luck. Always tan easy but not on these meds. Not sure why but 3 different summers of treating and just wouldn't tan...
1321692 tn?1304298071 It sounds like heat bumps, make sure she is in the shade as she could be suffering from heat stress and its not good to let her have sun glaring down on her.If it happens again hose her down or put her in the shower and run cold water over her until the heat has gone. If its not that it could be an allergic reaction to a insect sting ! and it might be an idea to have some antihistermine on hand as if she gets bitten on the face it could swell up and cut her air off.
Avatar f tn I was told that our bodies change with age. I think its from the heat of the sun. Try wearing a higher spf than you normally do and see what happens. if it happens again you might want to go and see a different dermatologist.
Avatar m tn There is no change in my food and lifestyle in the recent past. The only change I see is the intermittent weather. Rain, cold, sun changing rapidly nowdays. I spend most of the day in AC during my work as a s/w engg. My sweating is also normal as per physical activity. I have consulted a regular physician who prescribed some anti-allergic pills. The severity has reduced a bit, but when there is sudden change from indoor(AC) to outdoor, the itching and tiny redpost/bumps are back.
Avatar n tn Sunblock may help but this does not seem to be necessary as the mechanism for developing a sweat rash has something to do with the sweat blocking the sweat glands. Sun block cream protects you from UV yet it does not prevent sweating. "Miliaria (Prickly Heat) occurs when the sweat gland ducts get plugged due to dead skin cells or bacteria such as Staphylococcus epidermidis,a common bacterium that occurs on the skin which is also associated with acne.
Avatar n tn Recently I was out in the sun and I noticed that little red bumps had appeared all over my arms. My mom thought it was a heat rash but i looked that up and none of the sites said anything about them being on arms. I stayed inside mostly the next day and then were gone. Then today I went to the beach and after being out a while i noticed that they were all over my arms, front and back, on the tops of my hands, all over my legs front and back and also on the top of my feet.
Avatar f tn it appears on my neck, chest, arms legs and face, or one of these areas and eventually spreads all over, especially in sunlight, seemingly in places where the majority of sun exposure has been previously, although i rarely go out into the sun. it is not itchy, raised or anything, just red patches which eventually merge together and can cover the majority of the mentioned areas.
Avatar n tn It is more likely to occur on the neck and upper chest, in the groin, under the breasts, and in elbow creases. The best treatment for heat rash is to provide a cooler, less humid environment. Continue using your sunscreen. Drinking plenty of fluids and keeping the affected area clean and dry may also help. If it persists, it would be best to see your doctor for further evaluation and management. Take care and keep us posted.
Avatar n tn Also, a small amount of heat is given off from the burn caused by the concentration of blood in the healing process, giving a warm feeling to the affected area. The most important aspect of sunburn care is to avoid exposure to the sun while healing and to take precautions to prevent future burns. The best treatment for most sunburns is time. Given a few weeks, they will heal. The skin can be hydrated by applying topical products containing Aloe vera and/or vitamin E, which reduce inflammation.
Avatar n tn Symptoms follow any stimulus to sweat such as exercise (sometimes called exercise-induced urticaria), heat from the sun (which could also indicate solar urticaria), saunas, hot showers (reaction to water can also indicate water urticaria), spicy foods which may cause an increase in body temperature or even stress due to blushing or anger. The affected area will often feel warm and can be extremely itchy or exhibit a burning sensation.

1227909 tn?1267853479 Not everybody has the same problem. If you break out in itchy bumps from the sun on treatment, it is not hard to see that you will not tolerate the sun on treatment.
Avatar n tn Now I can see the same in his chest, on his back and some on his face too. Is it any sun damage or any other allergic blisters. I'm not sure whether it is itchy...since he is not itching any part of the body. What kind of safety measures do we have to take, can I get the expert advice. Thanks in advance.
Avatar n tn It's a problem which quite a few women seem to get more than men. It is a heat rash where your body cannot expel the sweat from the glands properly - it is brought on by the sun.
