I swear by zinc lozenges on the first onset of a sore throat. I'm only 5 Weeks pregnant and wouldn't you know it, I have the start of a sore throat. anyone know if it's ok to take the lozenges? I know, I know, I need to ask my OB but I don't even have one in place yet since I'm so early on.
It started with really painful heartburn mainly as night, I would wake up in the middle of the night with chest pain from the heartburn then end up suffering a panic attack as I thought something was seriously wrong. I went to my gp who suggested my heartburn can be made worse by stress and that stress can make heartburn worse.
I have noticed the Zinc upsets my stomach so I have to take it with a little food. Just my personal experience.
As I think you all know, I plan on treating with triple therapy (INC, peg-INF, RBV) leading into my transplant. Meaning I will attempt to become UND during those weeks (4-12) before transplant. If UND I will then choose a liver without hepatitis C so I will not reinfect my new donor liver and be free of hepatitis C after my transplant.
I just found out that there is a class-action lawsuit against the companies that make denture adhesive. It seems that these adhesives contain enough zinc to cause many of the my FMS symptoms. I've been wearing dentures for 18 years and I have always used the same brand of adhesive, which is made by one of the companies targeted by the lawsuit. I called my Dr this am to arrange a blood test to determine the my zinc levels.
I don't know what's going on with me but I've been sick for over a week with IBS symptoms. I am getting sick and tired of this. I am having trouble sleeping, but that's been going on for months. I also feel I have symptoms of a thyroid disorder (and am getting that checked on Friday) my GI Doctor has stopped returning my calls for God only knows what reason but it seems no matter what I eat or drink I am just terribly sick.
Ok I am a 33 year old white male. I have had heartburn so severe the past 3 years that I wake up at night chocking on acid, I can only sleep on my left side, if I try my right within minutes I am hurting. I was a heavy drinker but no longer. I know I was overdoing it but I would eat up to 30 tums a day at times, at times 2 at a time would just subside the heartburn for maybe a half hour. It has gotten so bad that at night I sleep with the bottel in bed next to me.
at your local drug store or Walgreens, they are Zinc, which really help ease symptoms of the Common Cold, and the duration of the cold is cut shorter. They are not for a prevention, you don't want to take zinc everyday, but as soon as you feel a cold coming on, then take them, they have different flavors, they may leave an aftertaste in your mouth, but they are worth the aftertaste, you could always use a candy or something to rid the aftertaste later.
The major sign of zinc deficiency is affected taste. The zinc taste test is recommended. I have had this done for free at my local pharmacy showing i had zinc deficiency. You can also purchase zinc sulfate to try at home. I can't say for sure what all my zinc deficiency symptoms were as i has other severe deficiency states and medical conditions concurrently.
zinc magnesium is for rls is what it is for if thats what you are wondering aind if thats what u want it for i would get potassium to because there is enough zinc in the multivitamin if you are taking one in my opinion so i just took potassium and magnesium
This morning on ABC they had a segment about a lady who had lost her balance to the point she had to have a walker to get around. They said they discovered that the zinc in her denture cream had cause the problem. They especially mention Fixodent and Polydent. My husband uses Fixodent and also is unable to walk without a cane. If he misplaces the cane, he has to hold onto the walls or furniture to walk around. This might be a just a coincident.
the clinical trial they used up to 600mg of zinc a day..but Fourteen of the 23 zinc-treated patients had complete remission of their warts after one month of treatment. I have severe GERD ( my LES does not close properly ) and Iam taking DGL before meals and have started zinc carnosine since few days . I have lot of gas and burping. Iam on very low diet. My burping has reduced a bit but still I cant eat much and eat many foods.
I tried L-glutamine two days back and had a lot of gas and burping for past 2 days. Not sure if it did suite me or not. I took this between meals that is 3 hours after breakfast . Did this cause gas? Should I take it with meals?
I have suffered from GERD for nearly 20 years. Over the past 2 years the problem spiraled out of control to the point that I would awaken every night with a burning in my stomach and chest along with a severe headache. On at least 6-8 occassions over the past two years, I would be sick for 7 day stretches where I could not eat. I was miserable. The doctors simply had me doubling up and tripling up on my acid blockers (I have been on omeprazole, zantac, previcid, priolosec, carafate, etc.....
If your zinc was too high that would explain the copper deficiency, as too much zinc leaches copper out of the body. The solution is to decrease your zinc intake. If it was just high but normal, then that probably isn't the problem. But if it's too high, again, you don't need to supplement copper, you need to decrease wherever the excess zinc is coming from. This is why zinc always has a warning about not taking too much.
