October 15 - Started YAZ, also my first day of period (4 days light period only) November 10 - Period came November 11 - Last day of YAZ (first pack) November 12 - First pill of second pack of YAZ very heavy bleeding November 13 VERY HEAVY BLEEDING November 14, 15, 16, 17, 18 Regular bleeding Nov19- 27 light bleeding Nov 28 bleeding gone I went to my OB November 24 and advised me to take my remaining YAZ 3x a day.

She believes that I had been a little stressed this past month because we had a pet emergency, plus my job (I am a petshop associate and I am on my feet a lot) and now being off the YAZ. She said the lateness is most likely the YAZ having finally been cleared of my system. Is that true, does it take 2-3 months for a birth control pill to leave the system? Am I just being overly worried and that combined with everything else causing the lateness?

it would be a good idea to see a doctor so he or she can help ypu figure out what is causing all this. ive never heard it a side affect from the yaz. where did you read this? i am also on yaz.

I was very very depressed while taking yaz.. along with many other things. I switched to Yasmin because I was taking it before the Yaz and I had a great experience with it... So far I haven't had any problems with switching.

I want to stop taking it and my husband is in support of that. Has anyone experienced similar feelings while taking Yaz? If so, how soon did you return to normal after stopping the pill?

I have been on yaz for a year and I have noticed that since then I have been suffering from anxiety, panic attacks and depression. This is not like me at all and have even gone to the point of therapy. A major side effect of the pill is depression and I know this is what is causing this. Last week I had switched to the brand Loett to see if it makes a difference. I know this could take a few months to notice change but now I'm considering coming off it all together.

Doc, which is better and with less side effects, Yaz or Althea? I had breast tenderness issues with Yaz, but the doc said this could also happen with Althea. I have irregular menstruation.

i took YAZ for a while and my periods were longer and heavier at first too... they normal out though after a couple periods!

I am 1.5 weeks into yaz birth control pills. Due to being on antibiotics (macrobid) I have had diarrhea about three times in the last 1.5 weeks. Am I any less protected?

No they are not the same. Yasmin or Ocella is a lower dose of birth conrtol, while Yaz is prescribed more often to those who suffer from PMDD (Premenstrual dysphoric disorder). Yasmin is one of the best birth control pills out there for those who suffer with PCOS. I've been on it for 2 years, with a break of 6 months. I just started a new pill pack this month again. I too suffer from migraines, but the pill does not give me any.

I am on my second week of Yaz-put on it for really bad PMS and extremely heavy periods. (When my period came back after having my daughter and nursing her for a year, my PMS symptoms got progressively worse each month.) Now, on YAZ, I am having mood swings from extreme calm to extreme anxiety (close to full blown panic attack) and back again. I am easily irritated and have had heart palpatations since the second day on this medicine.

Could this be implantation or regular spotting while on Yaz? I have also been having diarrhea since the day before i had brown discharge. Could this be the cause of the spotting?

Has anyone used yaz to treat endometriosis? has any one got pregnant after using it? and also has inflmmation in the uterus?

Although I hear about it quite often, and have had it happen as well while on Zovia and now on Yaz, you should mention it to your prescribing doctor just to be on the safe side.

if i were you i would check with your doc but alot of what your goin through sounds like me when i was on yaz... i have never taken meds for depression but while on yaz the dr said i might need it.. once i quit takn the yaz i was alot better and i mean alot.. my husband and i were really talkin about seperating because of how unhappy i was and i didnt know what was goin on.. didnt want sex didnt want to be around the kids didnt want to be in the family...

What to know if anyone has had a problems with mouth sores, ulcers while taking birth control? I started Loestrin Fe 24 2 weeks ago and have terribel mouth sores, redness and pain.

ok so I've been on yaz for 3 months now and have been getting AF week 3 of my pack well week three I started spotting brown and nothing happend and I have been having killer heartburn again and nausea....so I tested Monday and BFN well I'm now day 5 of week 4 and still no AF just a little bit of brown spotting and I'm scared to test.....anyone else miss AF or just have brown spotting (like old blood) on BC? And no be prego?

Although the pill does prevent pregnancy it still happens. However if you have been gradually becoming more irregular it could just be the pill itself. I read some posts on other forums about women getting pregnant while on yaz but I'm not sure how common it is. I was on yaz for a year and a few months (just stopped taking it recently) and had awful side effects while on the pill and from stopping it.

I'm 19 weeks and 5 days pregnant, and I'm having some Hella bad migraines. I also have terrible sinuses, heartburn and I've been physically sick alot, with a fever and what not. I'm allergic to acetmenaphin(tylenol) which is supposedly the only thing I can take while pregnant. My doctor refuses to write me prescriptions for anything else and tells me to deal with it and there's nothing else like aspirin that I can take. She's very rude.
