Heartburn while taking nexium

Common Questions and Answers about Heartburn while taking nexium

heartburn

Avatar f tn Is it safe to take the heartburn remedy Zantac (rantadine) while taking simvastatin.
485077 tn?1222620140 Never took Nexium or any PPI prior to treatment, but took Nexium a day for most of treatment. After treatment, I was able to stop completely. So, treat yourself a little more of that purple pill if it will make your QOL on tx better. In addition, you might also try an H-2 pump like Zantac or Pepsid AC (not Pepsid Complete) at bedtime. Also, an antacid (like Tums, Mylanta) here or there is no problem as long as you space it around 3 hours away from your riba dosing.
Avatar f tn I just relented three days ago and took another nexium. I never had heartburn before starting nexium except when pregnant. My diarrhea, joint pain, and muscle weakness is back and I’m back wearing an orthopedic boot on my left foot today. I’m very frustrated at this point.

Avatar f tn I had AWFUL heartburn.
2006603 tn?1331329327 I am 33w4d and yesterday my doc prescribed me 150mg tablets to take twice a day for heartburn. Anyone use ranitidine while pregnant? I just want to make sure its safe.
Avatar f tn I have been having really bad heartburn and a burning feeling in my stomach. I was told to take Nexium but I have a severe allergy to penicillin. My question is, can I take nexium if I'm allergic to penicillin?
Avatar f tn Prilosec and Nexium is for heartburn. Prilosec is taken over a 14 day period and can only be taken every 4 months. Not sure about dosing for Nexium but Prilosec is often prescribed because it is over the counter.
Avatar m tn I have been prescribed Nexium by my doctor for the past 9 months and it is wonderful in preventing heartburn but after a while I started noticing that my stomach was slower as it would take up to 12 hours to empty my stomach. I recently changed to Prevacid as it recently came out as an OTC and it is my 10th day on it and already feeling the difference.
Avatar f tn These late night heartburn be kicking my ***. Tums don't work no more and milk bearly work.

Avatar f tn Hi! Just found out today im 5weeks pregnant. Im currently taking omeprazole 40mg a day and i need to stop its rated a class C for pregnancy. However when i stopped before i had horrendous heartburn i was so miserable i was prescribed zantac but that didnt work. I am also prescribed lorezapam 0.5mg but have only been taking a half a day. I know thats VERY BAD TO USE. I dont have any problem with quitting that just have to find ways to calm my anxiety. But my omperazole i am.
Avatar n tn I have taken Nexium and NEVER had any issue with or prone to "stomach viruses" at all. "Kills all the stomach acid"......not exactly sure what that means. The medication DOES alter your proton pumps associated with the acid production in your stomach thus lowering the acid in your stomach. People have different physiology and what might work for one patient might not work for another.
679466 tn?1247006054 But is there any risk to taking Prilosec or Aciphex or Nexium for the rest of your life? What are the risks? For example - i take Nexium every day, and that prevents any uncomfortable acid issues. If i stop taking the pill, i feel the heartburn. So - if i take 1 pill every day for the rest of my life, of any of the above named medications, what are the risks?
Avatar n tn Heartburn is common while on tx. OTC drugs like Prilosec and prevacid are ok to take.......... Plus it doesn't matter when you take them, not the same with anti-acid pills...........
Avatar f tn My dr prescriped nexium for me. It is a miracle worker. Nothing over the counter woukd work for me. It was terrible. Nexium was a life saver. I dont have heartburn at all now. You can actually buy it over the counter now too i think, its pricey, but definitely worth the money.
Avatar n tn Should I just continue taking nexium, motilium and mucosta? Or should I switch to zantac? Can I still continue taking motilium even with zantac? I'm not really sure if mucosta is necessary in my case but my heartburns have been quite painful at times. In case I should switch to zantac, can I do it right away? Can I switch to the first prescription right away tomorrow? I would probably be taking motilium still anyway Thanks medhelp!
Avatar n tn 4, my ferritin is 5, hemocrit is 33, I have a headache everyday, and am really tired, I also have pains in my chest that come and go, I went to the emergency room and was diagnosed with heartburn, so I have been taking nexium everyday, but I also have arthritis and was taking Celebrex. Since the blood work and the results the doctor told me to stop taking the Celebrex and just to take Tylenol instead. The doctor now wants me to have an upper GI evaluation. What could possibly be wrong?
Avatar f tn He followed up with his doctor on this and I do not think they did the right thing by giving him Nexium. Since he has been on the nexium he has gained 20-30lbs and is now feeling bloated and worse than before. I just do not know what to do about this anymore. I do not know what it could be caused from. If maybe I could get a diet for this type of thing so i knew what kinds of foods that would be best for his stomach and or a better diagnosis. Could this be IBS? We will be following up with a G.
Avatar f tn 1. Have you ever heard of hearburn/GERD starting after a bowel resection 2.
Avatar f tn Its due to heartburn and if I lay down I feel like my drink is trying to come back up and sometimes I wake up choking on my own vomit :(
Avatar f tn I apologize in advance for the long post but I want to give the full details in hopes of finding some answers. Back in December, I finally broke down and had an upper endoscopy done. I had been suffering with difficulty swallowing for nearly two years, but had been terrified of the endoscopy and convinced myself the trouble swallowing was anxiety related. I was diagnosed with Grade 2 esophagitis and gastritis, as well as an esophageal ulcer and 2 stomach ulcers.
