Hi I'm 36 weeks pregnant and I've had horrible heart Burn I've tried tums and maylox but neither seem to really work is there anything else I can take?

Nitroglycerin can also relieve esophageal spasm, it's not reliable for differential diagnosis of cardiac vs GI origin for chest pain. I've been through this recently myself and don't have any answers either. Nitro (sublingual) sometimes helped and sometimes didn't. Then on Friday I had a stress echo, my second in six months, again definitely negative. I'm also on Prevacid so my cardiologist doesn't think it's GI related but he also doesn't think it's cardiac.

I'm the type of person that eats anything and everything I have heart burn every day thou and ok I'll check with my doctor and see if she can give me something

Everyday I have horrible heartburn I wake up everymorning feeling sick to my stomach and I have frequent bowel movements with soft shapless stools and when I wipe there is blood on the toilet paper this has been going on for about 7 to 12 months...

Is there a way to tell the difference between typical chest pain vs. pain in the esophagus. Usually when I get what I call chest pain, it happens suddenly upon exertion and feels like someone put my heart in a vise, deep squeezing pain. It stops pretty quickly if I stop moving. The past few days (and right at this moment) I'm getting this dull ache right down the middle from my throat to the middle of my chest. Makes me cough and I have a bit of a headache.

It's not heartburn I have heartburn all day everyday but this is a different pain. I dont have a 24hr nurse to call but I called l&d they told me to go in to be checked out.

Try not to eat before you sleep or lie down. Don't get over full. Your stomach is being pushed so high up so the room for food is quite small. I'd say a hot cup of tea ( caffeine free of course) with your meal. But try to drink after you finish eating. Sometimes if you eat and drink the food gets elevated but you don't get full so it causes your stomach to over fill. Go for a walk after you eat to help your food digest a but quicker.

No But me trying to explain the upper back pressure pain feeling kinda has that heartburn feeling. The pain is upper center back. not constant. Comes and goes. I do have high cholesterol history and last year or so high blood pressure. Currently on HB small dose medication. other then that I am in good health. I have read other articles about upper back pain might be caused by neuro or possible early signs of arteries partial blocked. However the Nuclear Stress Test came back good.

I felt my heartburn coming on so i chewed two and it was like a miracle. No heartburn! I love em!

I'm 23 weeks pregnant with my baby girl and the heart burn and acid just seems to get worse and worse it even keeps me up at night ill wake up in the middle of the night with my chest and throat burning I have changed my diet but that only seemed to help a little and I don't think it healthy to eat so many tums a night?

I took the Pepto as before, then started thinking maybe heart? And I knew if I took aspirin it would help the arm pain anyway, so I took two. After awhile I took Tums to stop the heartburn. I felt better after awhile. What could it be? Could it actually be heart-related, or is it just that I'm eating greasy food? Also, I do have a PEG tube I've had since surgery in May. My symptoms are chest pain, it sometimes moves to my arm but then goes away I get so scared but everyone tells me its nothing just heartburn but does heartburn really stay with you everyday all the time? Ok so it hurts but its a pain that i can stand but its just irritaing not knowing what is wrong. When I was younger and when i would go to the doctors office they would tell me i have high blood preasure and i would start to control it but sometimes it would get high anyway.

If the chest pains have you in tears I would call your doctor and let them know. Sometimes heartburn will mimic chest pain also, it could be a lot of things.
