198627 tn?1203054007 To start with, in relation to a heart attack, having been a paramedic in my late teens/early 20s, I can tell you (and everyone for that matter) that if you were having a heart attack, YOU WOULD KNOW. It would be the WORST pain you have ever felt and the strangest - oh and MORE than likely you wouldn;t be able to jump on here an write a post about it.
1814992 tn?1316890851 Doctor checked only my blood pressure which was normal and refused to do further checking of heart , telling that I might be very young to have heart attack. Please , help me to understand this symthoms... Thank You in advance!
Avatar n tn Does this sound like heart attack symptoms? I have been put on a prescription for beta blocker and given nitro spray, had an ecg, chest xray and blood tests but still waiting for results.
Avatar f tn I've been having really bad chest pain all night I can't sleep because of it. It's so hard to breath it feels like a stabbing pain I'm 32+3 weeks I've been trying to wait till my doctors office opens but is getting worst I have never in my life had pain like this and it's starting to scare me. Has anyone else experienced pain like this.
Avatar f tn s health issue, but according to the National Heart, Lung and Blood Institute, nearly half of the people who die from heart attacks are women. Heart attack symptoms in women usually differ from men's, even though men's symptoms (like chest pain) are often touted as the most common sign of a heart attack.
Avatar f tn I then recalled an article I read about common heart attack symptoms in women that are often overlooked (jaw, neck, shoulder, arm, and back pain). After recalling this information I started feeling jittery and short of breath, but I couldn't be sure if it was a symptom or an anxiety reaction to the possiblity that I could be having a heart attack. I had my husband take me straight to the hospital just in case.
Avatar f tn Hi I'm 36 weeks pregnant and I've had horrible heart Burn I've tried tums and maylox but neither seem to really work is there anything else I can take?
Avatar n tn My question is, now I am experiencing some other things that I have read could be the early warning signs of an impending heart attack in women, they are - spasmodic dry cough (comes out of the blue, sometimes 12 x day, others 2 x day), and I am suffering from very interrupted sleep. I am waking up almost every hour on the hour every night for the past week or so. I also suffer from extreme bouts of fatigue (not always in conjuction with lack of sleep).
Avatar n tn It could be. I was talking to one of my friends who is only 15. He describes that he gets the exact same thing on occasion. We seem to agree that when we breathe in it hurts so we have to breathe in slightly and breathe out more until the sharp pain subsides, which is usually after about a minute. Honestly, I'm pretty convinced now that it's heartburn since my friend described that he gets it too.
Avatar m tn I'm not a doctor, but I understand people can be having a heart attack and still have a normal or near normal blood pressure. Heart attacks in women don't always include the same/typical symptoms as they do in men. Also, it's fairly common in women that symptoms of a heart attack come and go--so just because the clear up doesn't mean you're not having a heart attack. Better safe than sorry, right? I would seek medical attention immediately. First, take a 325 mg.
Avatar n tn In my case it was more a burning sensation in the center of my chest. I could also feel it radiate up to my jaw and in my arms. I was never really short of breath, but I was nauseated and sweating. The last time I was also shaking. I knew someting was wrong. At times even now I have a strange tingling in my upper back between my shoulder blades. Have you had any discomfort of this type?
Avatar f tn I'm the type of person that eats anything and everything I have heart burn every day thou and ok I'll check with my doctor and see if she can give me something
Avatar n tn Heart attacks are very common in women and does not always present with chest pain which is why some women do not even realize they are in danger. Please have her checked out. Keep me posted on how she is doing.
Avatar n tn There are so many things it could be from something minor to major. And women very often have atypical pain when having a heart attack. Men often have the more "classic" pain and symptoms, but sometimes women have very different symptoms. And since you do have some pain in your chest and back, I think on the safe side it would be best to go to the ER. Please keep us posted. And please go. None of us like going to the doctor and the ER can be even worse!
Avatar f tn No defiantly not heartburn.
Avatar n tn I was shocked to hear from the doctor in ICU that I had had a heart attack sometime in the past. An attack (myocardium infarction) had impaired the heart wall movement decreasing the amount of blood pumped with each stroke causing blood to backup into the lungs causing edema (congested heart failure). It could be your heart, indigestion, etc., but your symptoms could have been a heart attack and a cardiologist would not consider your concern frivolous.
976897 tn?1379167602 It would appear from some papers published that Heart disease in women used to be a lot less in numbers than in Men, especially up to a certain age. I think this is why so many Doctors dismissed heart problems in women with typical symptoms and some still do. However, it has been realised that since women have taken the roles they have in the work place, heart disease is definitely on the increase for them. It seems the more stressful the job, the worse their condition becomes.
Avatar f tn Again i dony say this to scare you but i wish i had known the symptoms of a gallstone are similiar to heartburn and gallstones are more common in pregnant women who have had previous pregnancies as your organs shift to make room for baby.
370181 tn?1595629445 Thanks so much for your response, selma. I didn't think about the vagus nerve being a possibility and I'd never heard of the condition you called "silent reflux." I was just incredibly relieved you didn't immediately say "run to your cardiologst as it might be a heart attack!" That is what I was fearing someone would say.

Avatar f tn remember you are not in the risk group unless he was under 50 years old when he had the heart attack...it doesn;t mean that you will it just means you are in a higher risk group...you may want to consider calling your doc to tell them how you are feeling...let them take a listen to your heart for reassurance and maybe they can give you a little something for anxiety to help you thru this for a month or so...sorry about your dad...i lost mine too and i know its hard.....
