Avatar m tn I don't know if I have GERD--but I do know I've been suffering from shortness of breath and really intense heartburn. I thought my shortness of breath was from my Emphysema and the heartburn was from starting to drink v-8's in the morning. How does a person know whether or not they have gerd?
1101860 tn?1258542188 Chronic cough, such as your, may be due to smoking, allergies, certain medications ( beta blocker or ACE inhibitors), asthma, and even heartburn. It is important to know the underlying cause. Treatment will depend on this. At this point, decongestant and pain reliever may help provide symptoms. But it is important that you have this evaluated further by your doctor for proper diagnosis. Take care and best regards.
Avatar f tn 7) Feel much better all my symptoms have virtually gone, apart from the odd palpitation. However I am now suffering from heartburn all the time. I never had this as a symptom before. Does anyone else have this and does anyone knowif it's because my TSH is now so much lower? P.S.
Avatar f tn t want to scare you, but asthma attacks can be extremely dangerous. Until you get your asthma under control, which it obviously isn't now, I would not participate in any sports. You need to go back to your doctor and tell your doctor what is happening. Asthma attacks can be life threatening. You can't ignore this. Go to your doctor. Your asthma is not under control.
1987536 tn?1337916244 Has anyone with asthma been told to continue?their daily affair treatment plus albuterol as needed? The reality is that I have had allergic rhinitis during the whole pregnancy, I am 18 weeksand the last two days have been horrible w my breathing. So, I used my rescue nebulizer yesterday and today with albuterol. I feel much better, but curiosity intrigued me and I started Googling about the risks of not taking meds vs taking the meds and they both blow.
9109315 tn?1408617920 Really oj don't give you heartburn, oj gives me heartburn. Real ice cold Water works for me..lol we are opposite. I try not to eat right before bed, and tums I love tums that helps me.
Avatar f tn They kept telling me I have asthma, I have always had outdoor allergies but never asthma. Come to find out I need an inhaler for that time of year. You should really get checked out, a nebulizer will help a lot!!
Avatar n tn I have had this constant cough for 3 years and I was just diagnosed with acid reflux and non acid reflux and asthma. I have no heartburn at all but I do have hoarseness. This discussion is related to Can you have Acid Reflux without acidity.
Avatar f tn I have been having bra rash symptoms including asthma last few months. Should I have bras tested for formaldehyde? Is there a class action suit pending anymore? Why are these bras still for sale? The last rash is from VS bra purchased June 30.
Avatar f tn I notices mine drop around 30w, I noticed in the mirror my tummy looked lower and I stopped getting heartburn! My heartburn so bad before I couldn't even drink water without getting it!
Avatar f tn It's the same thing, your belly and baby drop once babys head is engaged. If your doc says your babys engaged then you have dropped. My babys head is engaged but my tummy doesnt look like it's dropped much (and she's so long I still get heartburn and rib kicks).
Avatar f tn The tight feeling in you throat and lack of response to rescue meds would indicate VCD vs asthma issues at these times. Search the internet for vocal cord dysfunction. There is at least one video out there that demonstrates a relaxation technique that may be helpful. There are others, but you would have to see a speach therapist for them. Speach therapy is the only treatment for VCD. I hope that helps you some. Take care and God bless.
663470 tn?1243207890 t know what to say except maybe get a 2nd opinion. Sometimes asthma is called silent asthma .. no wheeze -- just inflammation and can be tricky to diagnose if it's a GP that you are seeing vs. an pulmonologist. Stress can do a lot of things, but until they are certain it's good to explore all the avenues. Pls.
Avatar n tn My (3rd) family doctor want me to see a pulmonologist but I swear its not my lungs. I have been told, bronchitis, reactive airway disease and asthma but nothing for sure just "possibly". I will give you the run down.. symptoms runny nose, watery/itchy eyes, sore throat, ear pain, horrible pressure on my palette, constant swallowing and a cough that is now considered chronic that is productive of clear phlegm and is formed in tiny balls/maggots?
Avatar n tn Hi...you are feeling faint due to lack of oxgen and asthma is characterized by feeling tightness in your chest, brocial tubes fill with mucus and airway constriction, it feel like you are breathing thru a straw, wheezing, tight cough (very uncomfortable) and difficulty breathing. Only your physician can evaluate and recommend treatment. Please don't wait until you feel faint again.
5615074 tn?1378316840 This happen to me to early in my pregnancy at 12 weeks, first I had a dry throat then it became sloe and I had coughing for 3 weeks, after nothing was working my doctor finally came to the conclusion that it was pregnancy induced asthma...
Avatar f tn ive had chest pain the past couple of weeks and it's getting worse. I do have asthma, but not bad. And that's not the type of pain in my chest. And the pain gets worse if I bend over the pick up something or lift thing. Also if I take a deep breath.
Avatar f tn Tums and Maalox are typically the first line over-the-counter medications you can try to relieve heartburn while pregnant. You may find the liquid to be more effective than the tablets as the liquid can also coat your esophagus (between your throat and stomach). Always be certain to inform your doctor of any medications you take (prescription and over-the-counter), and if these treatments have not been effective you should contact your doctor to review next steps.
Avatar f tn Yup. Its the old acid vs base trick. Your heartburn is acid in your esophagus and any form of base would work to coat it. Avoid orange juice, lemonade and spicey foods. Crackers, bread and any form of milk will help. I suggest investing in some zantac. My doctor said its safer than tums or rolaids, as they can damage the lining of your esophagus when taken for a prolonged period.
Avatar n tn What would cause extreme gas, frequent urination, chest discomfort, heartburn, and wheezing? For the past several days I have had to urinate often, felt a strange airy/burning sensation in my chest, heartburn, belching, and frequent gas pains and bubbly feeling in my abdomen. Also, it seems at night that I wake up suddenly with a jerk and/or gasping for air. Today I developed a shooting pain in the front of my neck and a shooting pain in my right lower pelvic area.
