Avatar f tn I get really gassy and have heartburn or my chest hurts. My mom seems to think it because I am not drinking enough water and I am dehydrated. I just dont think she is right because I am drinking water. The pain hurts so bad lately that it has made me stop running when Im trying to get ready for my season/tryouts coming up in a week. I'm scared because I am afraid i wont be inshape because I have had to keep stopping. But when I do stop my stomach starts to feel a tad better so I walk home.

Avatar f tn Refluxed stomach acid that touches the lining of the esophagus can cause heartburn. Also called acid indigestion, heartburn is an uncomfortable, burning feeling in the midchest, behind the breastbone, or in the upper part of the abdomen—the area between the chest and the hips. What are the symptoms of GERD? The main symptom of GERD is frequent heartburn, though some adults with GERD do not have heartburn.
590310 tn?1273871747 The heartburn is normal for some people after they finish the steroid treatment. Maybe your doctor can suggest a medication to help you while your body weans off the steroids. I had antacids on hand and took a prescription heartburn medication to help and am still on it for now. As for the puffiness, only time will help with that. Don't worry, it does go away. I'm already seeing my old face coming back and the swelling I had in my feet is gone now. I hope this was helpful.

1135532 tn?1265056071 Interferon in combination with ribivirin is the current standard of care (SOC) for HCV treatment. Research goals are to find a different treatment than interferon but that is probably many years away. If patient tested positive to antibodies for HCV but a PCR test to detect RNA of the virus in the blood comes back negative, no treatment is necessary.
Avatar f tn For some background, I am a 24 year old female who is overweight and has a history of PVCs and anxiety issues. I'm currently on 50mg Zoloft and have been since August. On Monday I started a low-carb diet. On Tuesday I started to feel awful and tired. I did not eat a big breakfast that day due to running late for work. On Wednesday, I woke up with the same light-headed fatigued feeling. I broke my low carb diet and began eating carbs again.
Avatar f tn I have heartburn a lot, unless I take Nexium daily. Even then, I sometimes have heartburn and take some additional Mylanta. Also, irritable bowel and the gas/bloating it causes makes the PVCs worse. When the gas passes and stops pressing on my stomach and chest area, the PVCs lessen. They also lessen when I get up and walk around some after eating, and when I eat smaller, healthier meals.

1765695 tn?1313669583 My husband suffers from high blood pressure and from GERD. Every time he eats anything out of a can he gets a heartburn attack and feels awful. It doesn't matter if I rinse the canned food out or not, still affects him the same way. I was reading that some of these symptoms can be caused from the preservatives and the aluminum but still don't know much about this.
Avatar n tn 4, my ferritin is 5, hemocrit is 33, I have a headache everyday, and am really tired, I also have pains in my chest that come and go, I went to the emergency room and was diagnosed with heartburn, so I have been taking nexium everyday, but I also have arthritis and was taking Celebrex. Since the blood work and the results the doctor told me to stop taking the Celebrex and just to take Tylenol instead. The doctor now wants me to have an upper GI evaluation. What could possibly be wrong?
Brachiosaurus A good healthy diet with lots of varieties of vegetables and fruit and a minimum of red meat might help your symptoms, but often medications such as Prevacid, or Prilosec, must be added. You may need endoscopy to rule out something more serious too, so see your doctor. Good luck!
