heartburn treatment otc

Every time I lay down I get reallllly bad heartburn. The only kind of medicine we have for heartburn is prilosec. Does anyone know if it's okay to take?

I too suffered from intense heartburn my Midwive put me on Pantoprazole a sub for protonix it works AWESOME,AWESOME,AWESOME with no side effects it is prescrption but Im telling you try it the other OTC **** dont work this is one pill a day and no heartburn whatsoever if you miss a day you still dont get heartburn

what works for one person may not work for another, in my case what works for me 1 week my not work the next, my body gets used to the product- so my Dr. tells me. OTC products can be doubled if the strenght on the box does not work---Try Pepsid AC they have a 10 & 20 mg....(the perscription for that is Axid 300mg)....I have been on them all, but not the ones with Sodium Bicarbonate like Zegerid OTc....

Because I am not a physician only a Medical Assistant I can give you treatment advice. However, try some OTC (over the counter) medications for heartburn for 2-3 weeks and see if that helps. Prior to trying anything always consult your physician to make sure that it is safe for you to take.

If that does not work, try Pepcid, Gaviscon, Prilosec OTC, Omeprazole, Pepto, Zegerid OTC, Equate Acid Relief or Alka-Seltzer. If you do not want to go to the store, try a quick remedy-- baking soda or cold milk. And also, you can use PregEase. It treats morning sickness and heartburn. It is clinically proven a safe choice with natural ingredients, so you do not have to worry about anything harming the little one.

FYI - If you are on treatment be extremely careful with antacids and do not take them anywhere near the time that you take your ribavirin (I believe you have to wait 4 hours) as Maalox, Tums and things like that can apsorb the meds and you need to have them in your blood stream to fight the virus..

I have sever heartburn and wanted to know what is the best heartburn meds. for someone with hepatitis C.

Is there a safe otc antacid that I can use with treatment? It has to have no interaction with Incivek in particular. I would like to try this and see if it gets better .

You can take Zantac or or Prilosec OTC. They work. I use Prilosec OTC. That will help you.

lately ive been having really bad heartburn, never had it before i started treatment and i havent changed anything im eating or my diet at all really, just wondering if anyone else ever experienced this during treatment, nothing seems to help.

I take prilocec otc it's absolutely amazing! It literally keeps my heartburn away for 48 hrs!

I am freaking out here, I told my OB at my 12 week appointment that I am getting horrible heartburn and that nothing helps. He gave me a script to prilosec OTC and told me it was safe to take every day. I have not been taking it everyday but I have taken it a couple times a week since then. Well, I just looked online and it is a category C drug and is not to be used during pregnancy especially not before 20 weeks. I am only 17 weeks and have been taking it since week 12!

Milk gives me worse heat burn!! Don't drink milk, take prilosec otc. It's expensive but so worth it. You only take it once a day and the heart burn never breaks through it. I would seriously be crying without it. Before i was pregnant, i had heart burn but now it's so bad it also was keeping me up And really hurt so bad it would make be cry.

So, ive had the problems for getting on for two years now and i began to realise that excess belching and chest pain from indigestion and heartburn wasnt normal...so on monday i finally had a gastroscopy and the doctor told me my stomach sphincter wasnt closing properly...i asked if he meant GORD and he said yes. I take Prilosec OTC for my heartburn. I eat two to three hours before I go to bed.

Oh man i just went through that i was having it really bad i mean i had extreme chest pain it was horrible even water would trigger it my ob recommended zantac otc and after a few days it worked i haven't had heartburn in like 3 days i am hoping it's gone for good
