Common Questions and Answers about Heartburn symptoms zegerid

heartburn

Avatar n tn Has anyone tried Zegerid? So far I have tried Prevacid, Aciphex, Prilosec,Protonix, and Nexium. Aciphex gave me bad side effects and Nexium made my reflux symptoms worse. Prilosec did absolutely nothing for me. I was successfully treated for H. Pylori in Nov 07. Since then I have been suffering from Water Brash and now heartburn. I don't know where to turn. My GI now wants me to take Zegerid(isn't this med just like Prilosec with sodium?).
Avatar f tn I get terrible heartburn and I dont know what to do with myself because I take Zegerid EVERY DAY!! This is starting to seriously interfere with my life, and work. I can't do much when I get stomach pains. Why does the zegerid not work sometimes? And how do i get rid of this terrible heartburn? and why do i have to keep taking it if there's nothing specifically wrong with me?
Avatar m tn I have been on them all, but not the ones with Sodium Bicarbonate like Zegerid OTc....I have been looking to find others who are now not responding to meds and what they are doing, I have found that Milk Thistle could possibly be of some help, I'll give it a try...
394931 tn?1208115595 so i have very bad heartburn, upset stomach, with pain. i get heartburn bad enough to cause me to vomit, or i eat and i get severe pain right afterwards a very yucky feeling, where i am doubled over in pain and it lasts for anywheres from half an hour to an hour. if i eat or drink anything i have bad heartburn doesnt matter what it is. my doctor prescribed me pantoloc for the heartburn which is not working at all. all it does is make me vomit..
Avatar f tn Aloe Vera juice (Walmart) is a God send!! It tastes awful, but relieves refulx/heartburn in a jiffy!! I am currently 34 weeks and couldn't have survived without it! Best wishes!
Avatar n tn chest pain, moderate to severe heartburn, insomnia, fatigue, rapid heartbeat and anxiety. Other facts about me include: I am 23, male, recently lost and subsequently regained 50+ pounds in 2-3 years. I am a moderate drinker (for 4 years). I also chew Tums and drink milk which calms my heartburn and calms me from my anxiety (also that second part is probably just psychological).
Avatar f tn I only get it once in a while right now thank goodness, but a friend of mine got it everyday so bad it would make her eyes water several times a day and she swore by tums. It was the only thing that worked for her. It works for me too!
Avatar f tn Then I became sick with bronchitis and needed to take an antibiotic and had to stop taking the Zegerid for about a week. Upon continuing the Zegerid I have had increasing typical acid reflux symptoms, to the point of waking me up at night. So I called my doc and started taking another Zegerid during the day, and taking Gaviscon before bed... this really hasn't helped. I notice that when I sit for a long period I get a build up of gas in my stomach/intestines, resulting in passing gas.
Avatar n tn No ulcers or anything unusual seen. Problem is I am still having the symptoms of burning in chest. Now I have noticed the pain and burning is in my upper center back also. Have an odd feeling of something in my throat too that makes me cough periodically. Stopped taking ppi's because they were not working. What can I do now? I am so sick of this constant feeling in my chest and back.
Avatar m tn It was determined I have GERD but I have no acid reflux symptoms other than occasional indigestion/gas. I have no heartburn or reflux type symptoms and my EDG showed only 1 small erosion. I've been on PPI's like pantoprazole, omeprazole, lanoprazole, all because of this "lump sensation" that developed years ago. On the PPI's it became semi-manageable but looking back this was the only reason that lead the doctors I was seeing to believe its GERD.
Avatar m tn I was recently diagnosed with a lazy gallbladder. My doctor's suggested taking it out, although I don't (yet) have stones. (Gallbladder issues run in my family.) I was also diagnosed with GERD and LPRD. I've been treating it with PPI's and while most of the heartburn and stomach pain is gone, the pain in the throat and the clicking have gotten worse.
Avatar f tn Out of the blue, mostly when at rest, I get a tight feeling, almost like a knot or large gas bubble, right below my sternum. The pressure and discomfort increases as it moves upward toward my neck. The pressure/discomfort stops once it reaches about my collar bone or bottom of my neck. During this "episode" I feel like it is harder to breath.
Avatar n tn I have been treating my GERD for 3 years with Zegerid. For the first 2 years it was my "miracle drug". About a year ago I began having what I called reflux "attacks" again, usually in the middle of the night. They would last anywhere up to 4 hours, during which all I could do was pace the floor and pray for relief. I averaged one attack a month; finally decided to revisit my gastroenterologist.
Avatar f tn I also noticed a strange taste in my mouth and my stomach was upset all day. I have heartburn which I never have. Even crackers that day caused reflux. I had the chest pressure all day nonstop. I saw my cardiologist and the EKG was normal but he ordered a stress test as the echo was normal a year or so ago. The heartburn is a bit better, but i have been gasey for the past week, even when I wake up. This is totally new to me. I don't eat anything and I'm gasey.
Avatar f tn Even if you do not have some serious problem causing your symptoms, hopefully the doc can order you some prescriptions to ease your discomfort and stop the heartburn. They also need to figure out where that rectal bleeding is coming from. Hope you feel better soon.
Avatar n tn I saw my primary in November for heart burn and acid reflux symptoms. I was given samples of Nexium to try for two weeks. At the end of the trial, I did not notice any improvement. I also had developed new problems of bloating, especially just to the left of my "six-pack". When I sat down, it felt like something was being crushed or pinched in my abdomen also had pain under my solar plexus and across my abdomen just under my rib cage.

Avatar f tn What are the symptoms most of you mommies get at 21weeks?
Avatar f tn I explained my symptoms to him and he said I was all over the place. Nice right... Well I told him I thought maybe it was my gallbladder so he sent me for a ultrasound (which came back fine no visabal stones) and in the meantime he gave me Zegerid for the burning. It helped and in three days I was fine so I stopped it. I went back and told him the pain was easing up and that I had stopped the Zegerid so he said ok and if it did come back to take prilosec.
417274 tn?1202937034 My question is how long until the Zegerid they switched me to will stop working too? I have also been taking Zantac the entire time as well. I have already been tried on all the others and they just don't work, so unless something new comes out and my trend continues, my fear is that I'll be sunk with chronic issues that just won't heal.
9163191 tn?1405181980 My mums got my heartburn and leg cramps.
Avatar m tn Throughout my life I have been able to eat habanero peppers without a single incident of heartburn and large meals with no problems at all. However, on June 6th 2008 (more than a month ago) I ingested a large amount of gin (about half a bottle). Instantly after drinking this gin I started having acid reflux symptoms. I am not an alcoholic, nor did I have a history of alcohol abuse. I had just turned 21 and had been drinking on and off throughout those recent months.
Avatar m tn He did what all doctors do, and write a prescription for Zegerid once a day. I have never been one to use prescription drugs because I am a firm believer that they only COVER symptoms and do not work to cure the underlying problem. I may add that I eat really unhealthy. I'm not overweight at all. But, I do eat VERY FAST and never really chew my food properly (also thought that could of been a reason why my food was getting caught in the middle of my throat.
