Common Questions and Answers about Heartburn symptoms menopause

heartburn

I'm also suffering from severe hot flashes, irritability, and other general PMS symptoms including cramps and others that I've never really had before. I'm constantly dry (skin, vagina, eyes, mouth, etc) no matter how hydrated I keep myself. Also in the past 6 months I've been experiencing very annoying gastrointestinal problems (diahrrea, heartburn, gas) that only seem to be getting worse.
I also was waking up with night chills but there was never any sweat on me (or little), so I wasn't sure if I was having night sweats or what, but, regardless, the night chills have since disappeared since starting the black cohosh. I think some of your other symptoms could be associated with menopause but they could also be associated with other stuff--including your sarcoidosis. Now on to the sarcoidosis--if you don't mind sharing.
The doctor says my heart is fine, but the pain is still there. About three days ago I started having the bad heartburn, I think, again and am going to be getting my peroid any day. Is it possible that the anxiety or the hormones are making my reflux worse.
Did anyone develop any digestive problems or GERD through peri/menopause? I am 51 and in perimenopause. Last summer, I developed GERD out of the blue. I can't seem to get ahold of it with medication. My GI said that digestive upset onsets aren't uncommon during these years. Will it go away when my hormones die down? Would HRT help me?
I'm 58 and my last period was about 4 years ago. I thought I was sailing through menopause with just some anxiety and night sweats once in a while. About 8 weeks ago I began having hot flashes many times a day and night, night sweats several times a night, anxiety and horrible gastric distress. All at once! I've never in my life had heartburn or any intestinal problems but now my stomach seems to fill with gas for no reason, it rolls around my intestines causing sharp pains.
Cheers The 35 Symptoms of Menopause This list of common symptoms that occur during perimenopause and menopause was developed from the real-life experiences of hundreds of women. All symptoms were experienced by numerous women and were either cyclical in nature, or responded to treatments (both traditional and alternative) known to address hormonal imbalances.
I have severe, painful heartburn. I don't seem to be able to associate it with food and tums don't help. It scares me to no end because of the chest discomfort I have been having. It happens sporadically and every time I think I'll let it go because it's happened before -- but I can't. I have worn a 30 day monitor too. I had this nasty heartburn at the time and it recorded nothing, well except NORMAL cardiac activity. I still have a hard time with that one.
Went on Prevacid which seemed to help alot, especially with heartburn at night. I've always had loose stools, but about a month on the Prevacid I started to have real diarhhea. I have always believed I have IBS but this is different than anything I've ever had. I'm 45 and know I'm going thru menopause. Periods have gotten very irregular, plus my mother went thru it at 46. I'm wondering if this could be related to menopause. I've had an abdominal ultrasound and a vaginal ultrasound.
The only time in my life i have experienced heartburn was 24 yrs ago when pregnant with my daughter. All of a sudden in July 2011 i started getting heartburn and indigestion which at first i thought something i ate out of the ordinary but the symptoms wont go away. I went to family doctor they prescribed Prilosec which i took for a week with no difference if anything it was worse with pain in my chest.

ok, so here it is... (i apologize in advance for the long post) my husband and I have been TTC for over a year now, and month after month we get the unfortunate monthly gift. 2 years ago i gave birth to a healthy baby boy, prior to becoming pregnant with him we tried for 6 years only to find out that i was not getting pregnant due to having Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome. the dr. advised me to change my diet, gave me Metformin to take and i became pregnant immediately.
Yes I believe there are a lot of symptoms of menopause that the world does not yet atribute to menopause. I go for months without my period and thats when my hands are numb at nite. But as soon as I have the occasional period, nite sweats stop and numbness subsides. Gee menopause symtoms, I think soo. Problems with joints I believe are also caused by menopause and I had a very popular orthopedic surgeon actually agree! It ***** getting old!
I have had blood work done to check for Thyroid problems, sugar and and was told I was in the range as menopause. These symptoms don't all fit menopause. I have had these symptoms on an off for several years but they are getting progressively worse. I am at a loss.I have been to the emergency room several times thinking heart attack, but all cardio blood work comes back fine. What is wrong with me? Does anyone else have these kinds of symptoms? Please help me.
First I take maca root capsils (4 pills twice a day) but I worked my way up to that over the course of 2 months starting with one in the morning and one at night), BHRT (bioidentical hormone replacement therapy), alkaline water (for water retention), gastro cleanse (for slow digestion, once a month), probiotics, omega (menopause formula), prenatal vitamins (they have the right combo for menopause women...lots of B vitamins), calcium supplements (for bone loss), and basic minerals.
And I just remember before I started investigating some of these symptoms, and studying up on menopause, I had doctors tell me that that these symptoms don't exist for women in menopause (of course they were all male, WHATEVER!!!!!) Just like I've had hepatologists tell me that many of the symptoms hep c patients complain about are not attributable to hep c....YAWN!!!!!
Sometimes no symptoms are noticed because they can be so vague, or can easily be explained away by other causes, such as menstrual problems, fatigue, approaching menopause. Common symptoms many of us had are bloating, feeling full in the stomach, urinary frequency, back pain, bowel problems, abdominal discomfort or pain....... If you don't feel right, go for a good gyn check-up and express your concerns. Be persistant. Often as women we get blown off by docs as just having female problems.
Source url: http://www.atwatchdog.org/hepc_symptoms.html Symptoms of Hepatitis C Although all symptoms do not occur in any one case, many combinations have been documented. Interestingly, in many people the presence of symptoms does not bear any relationship to the extent of the illness. In other words, someone with very mild Hepatitis can describe many of the symptoms, while another person who has much more advanced liver disease may have few or no symptoms at all.
I had mine inserted this past Feb. I just started having the exact same symptoms. I am going to take a hpt. Let me know if you find out whats causing your problems.
With all the sites out there that have info on Vitamin D, their just doesn't seem to be one that has all the symptoms that can accompany vitamin d deficiency. I'm going to list my symptoms, so that others may have some insight, in layman's terms. I hope anyone else with the deficiency would also post theirs.

period symptoms and pregnancy symptoms are pretty much the same. it is not unusual to be a few days late. i just got my period this morning and i was expecting it 3 days ago. i am usually regular/on time. i had all the mentioned above symptoms and i questioned in my mind..am i pregnant? then i said, wait a minute, my husband and i didnt have sex for a whole month so it cant be that! you probably have period symptoms if HPT is negative.
This is a bit embarrasing, but I'm really worried and I don't have anyone to ask help from, so here it goes.. I've been experiencing pretty much all early pregnancy symptoms lately - weight gain, enlarged breasts, heartburn, nausea, tender breasts, darkened aerolas, fatigue, changes in period, and on top of that my stomach seems to get bigger and bigger and it generally feels strange and kind of off.
I'm having a doc's appointment on thursday with a regular family providor since here, they don't send you anywhere else without a referral,I'm just worried the whole process will just take forever, and I'm also reall worried about the symptoms,I know the chance is small for OVCA but from what I've read,a lot of the symptoms are there.
I took a pregancy test thru kaiser and it came out negative. I'm not bleeding but I have all my PMS symptoms. My breast are swollen, im breaking out all over, and am completely bloated. I was wondering if someone can tell me what's going on with me. I know that a missed period is normal. But im kinda worried because i get my period regularly and having pms symptoms is a bit confusing.
I don't care what anyone says, when some of us go through this nasty stage in our lives, the hormones can get way out of wack and create more anxiety and depression symptoms. My worst time of it was actually during peri-menopause. Even the IBS can be worse during this time. I remember my psychiatrist telling me that the brain gut reaction time is split second. So from the time you feel the anxiety, your gut has already received the message that you are scared and it reacts with...
I know B12 deficiency is uncommon and seen in underpoverished nations and vegans. Since my other labs are good and I have a cast iron gut, no heartburn or IBS symptoms... Not sure why my body is not absorbing b12. Docs are pretty vague since they don't have a clue. Wondering about b12 and MS. Rheum says he still thinks I might have lupus and since MS was mentioned... even tho negative... he says MS is a possiblity and to see return to see him again in 6 mos.
I know adrenaline causes all of these symptoms, but something in us causes some of our symptoms be present themselves daily while other symptoms tend to "cycle". I just wish it would go away, and I'm sure you feel the same. Being that you've been thoroughly tested and no medical conditions were found, and they told you it is anxiety, then try and believe it.
(continued from my original post) The pain started while she was pregnant with our 3rd child and they thought it was just heartburn. A few weeks after delivery she had her first real bad attack and we took her to the ER (first of many trips). They said they saw gallstones, and that sure seemed like a likely cause for her symptoms so they took out her gall bladder.
So of course I'm worried because I want as many standard symptoms as I can get so I can feel like this pregnancy is going to be successful! I would have thought that my breasts would become MORE sore as time goes on, and not less sore. Any input would be so appreciated!!! Thanks.
Are the symptoms daily? I have the bloating, tugging pain in right ovary, pelvic pressure the week before my period on through my period but then it goes away. I have a pelvic ultrasound scheduled for tomorrow morning but I was curious anyway.
