Common Questions and Answers about Heartburn symptoms heart disease

heartburn

Avatar f tn One cause of heartburn is celiac disease. This and lethargy were the ONLY symptoms my coworker was having. She's about 50 I guess. Her doctor checked her labs and she was positive for celiac disease. She had low levels of vitamin D and some other vitamins and minerals. No heartburn medicines were helping. Upper and lower endoscopy were done, and upper endoscopy showed the damage from the celiac disease. She went gluten-free.
Avatar f tn With your strong family history of heart disease and the flu like symptoms you are having, you should be seen by a cardiologist for follow up tests. Flu like symptoms, stomach upset, heartburn, shortness of breath, unusual tiredness are all symptoms of heart disease. Make the appointment today to see your doctor. Let us know what you find out. I, too, have a strong family history of heart disease, but show no symptoms to date.
Avatar n tn Your doc can do a basic EKG, listen to your ticker, look for heart-related (or other ) symptoms, and decide if you need to see a cardiologist or are sick enough to be hospitalized. This can all be done probably in a few days, and during regular working hours, rather than in an after-midnight panic.
Avatar n tn I am having the same symptoms. Heartburn, back pain, lightheaded and neausea, I also had lots of belching but I do that to try and stop the neausea. I took my blood pressure and it was 146/91 and BPM was 86, my normal is about 110/66 and BPM is about 65 to 70. I had Reflux surgery 15 years ago and have not had heartburn since, until last night. Symptoms have gone away since the middle of the night. History of my family.
Avatar f tn Everything that I can find on the internet points to heart disease. I want to know what I should do-do I wait three months? Do I find another family doctor? Is there a test to determine heart diease versus lupus/arthritis?

Avatar f tn If my brother would have gone to the hospital instead of taking heartburm medication, he would be alive today. Heart problems often feel like heart burn. Your symptoms seem very typical of a blocked artery.
Avatar n tn I think if i am having some heart disease because sometimes i experience shortness of breath, heartburn accompanied by anxiety. During the depression i felt fluttering in my chest and restlessness that is why i think so. Twice in last two months it has happened after periods, i experience shortness of breath like claustrophobic, i do not inhale enough air and run outside in open place to breath heavily.

1282678 tn?1275186261 I have chronic gas, bloating, constipation, heartburn, trouble breathing, dizziness, muscle weakness, heart palpitations. I have had my heart checked, ct scans you name it. I read articles on the vagus nerve. Could this be causing all of this? This discussion is related to Abdominal Pain in the Front and Back Upper Left Area.
Avatar f tn One study reported 20 to 43% incidence of heartburn in patients with head and neck symptoms. Also, acid reflux can mimic a heart attack so yes your symptoms could be due to acid reflux issues. My mother suffered severely from Gastric Esophageal Reflux Disease (GERD) and Laryngopharyngeal Reflux (LPR) for 5 years. She now suffers neither.
198627 tn?1203054007 The very LAST thing I want is for this thread to turn into a nasty disagreement about what information should or should not be "revealed" to a poster. But I disagree with Mike saying "we should not put the word heart attack and things like that in these posts." I DO realize Mike that many people on this forum have health phobias and most particularly, heart anxiety. But I feel VERY strongly that the "head in the sand" approach is not very responsible.

Avatar f tn I'm 22.5 weeks & thankfully haven't had much heart burn. But tonight it's keep me up & I'm actually starting to feel sick. Is it normal for heart burn to make you queasy?
Avatar f tn My nipples were sore, and still are, but the real symptoms started when I was 6 weeks. Morning sickness, daily headaches, occasional heartburn and frequent urination. I had a lot of cramps off and on but was told it was normal. The bad part about pregnancy symptoms is that they are so similar to pms. My sore nipples was a common pms symptom, but heartburn wasn't.
1084115 tn?1385228589 The most common cause of burning in the chest by far is G.E.R.D (Gastroesophageal reflux disease). Heartburn strikes an estimated 20% of Americans at least once a week. Gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD) is a condition in which the stomach contents (food or liquid) leak backwards from the stomach into the esophagus (the tube from the mouth to the stomach). This action can irritate the esophagus, causing heartburn and other symptoms.
