Ive had chest pain on and off radiating sometimes to both upper arms. also shortness of breath at times and fatigue. also some flu like symptoms. when I rest I get much better. but it doesn't go away completely and in the last few days it has been worse than ever. I woke up with heartburn which is strange because I never get indigestion. I am not sleeping well which is also unusual. I have normal blood pressure and I am not overweight. My total cholesterol is in the low 200s.

It may start high in the abdomen or may extend up into the neck. In some patients, however, the pain may be sharp or pressure-like, rather than burning. Such pain can mimic heart pain (angina). In other patients, the pain may extend to the back.
Over the past few days, I now feel these sensations and sharp pains on both sides of my sternum and even more into the upper chest/shoulder area. I have no heartburn or pain in my esophagus.
Do you have any suggestions for me? Any clue as to what could be causing this? Would you recommend I see a pulmonologist or a GI dr?
It's not heartburn I have heartburn all day everyday but this is a different pain. I dont have a 24hr nurse to call but I called l&d they told me to go in to be checked out.
sounds like heartburn or esphogus irritation/ could be hiatal hernia or beginnings of an ulcer/ see a doctor
I am a 53 yr old female. I have been getting odd symptoms. Pain that starts along my jaw bone and spreads quickly to my chest (Like a really bad case of heartburn) where I have trouble taking deep breaths without pain. I break out in a sweat and feel panicy. It only lasts for a short time but it is starting to worry me. I also have occasional left upper arm pain. Does this sound like heart attack symptoms?
As an RN I can safely say you can have all the symptoms and it b heartburn, majority of chest pain that presents to hospital isn't cardiac, u can try a mix of xylocaine and gaviscon (look up pink lady recipe) u should follow up with a doctor though to make sure, unless you've had bloods and an ECG they can't really tell
I've been having chest pain it feels like someone is sitting on my chest and my breast cramp up and feel tense as well. It this normal or should I go to the doctor?
ive had chest pain the past couple of weeks and it's getting worse. I do have asthma, but not bad. And that's not the type of pain in my chest. And the pain gets worse if I bend over the pick up something or lift thing. Also if I take a deep breath.
For the last year I have had these sharp stabbing pains in my left breast. I thought it might be heartburn so I took over the counter heartburn meds. plus I started eating healthy and excising. I have stopped eating before bed and stopped eat food that might trigger the episodes. The pains have not stopped but they haven't gotten worse either. I don't have any other symptoms other then the sharp stabbing for a few seconds. What could be the cause of my pain?
I woke up at about 4 in the morning with horrible chest pain right between my boobs and was up for at least 2 hours. It felt like my breast plate was ripping apart while simultaneously sinking in, making it hard to breathe. I found that it didn't hurt as bad while I was sitting up as it did when I was lying down. Googled it and it seems to be either heartburn from hell or my rib cage expanding to make room for the baby and organs. Has anyone else experienced this??
The chest pain could be from the heartburn, actually. I mostly take tums for heartburn, but you don't want to take too much. If it's really bad, talk to your doctor about something to reduce acid production (tums just deals with the acid once it's produced). I can't remember what it's called, but you take one pill twice a day. I took it for awhile, it's safe for pregnancy.
m 49 female had exactly same symptoms at work starting getting sweaty hot cold sweats chest pain and heartburn symptoms thought it was heartburn only... luckily I work for a gp and she sent me to a&e I was diagnosed with coronary artery spasm. please do not ignore this and go to a&e if symptoms persist.

These completely fixed every single symptom I have except the severe chest pain. I have a high pain thresh hold. As a boxer/martial artist/powerlifter, I deal in pain daily and it doesn't phase me one bit. But this pain is enough to make me want to cry after suffering from it for several hours.
I can't get rid of it. I don't regurgitate acid. I don't have a brash in the back of my throat.
