This nerve stimulation results most commonly in heartburn, the pain that is characteristic of GERD. Heartburn usually is described as a burning pain in the middle of the chest. It may start high in the abdomen or may extend up into the neck. In some patients, however, the pain may be sharp or pressure-like, rather than burning. Such pain can mimic heart pain (angina). In other patients, the pain may extend to the back.
It's not heartburn I have heartburn all day everyday but this is a different pain. I dont have a 24hr nurse to call but I called l&d they told me to go in to be checked out.
I've been having chest pain it feels like someone is sitting on my chest and my breast cramp up and feel tense as well. It this normal or should I go to the doctor?
ive had chest pain the past couple of weeks and it's getting worse. I do have asthma, but not bad. And that's not the type of pain in my chest. And the pain gets worse if I bend over the pick up something or lift thing. Also if I take a deep breath.
I woke up at about 4 in the morning with horrible chest pain right between my boobs and was up for at least 2 hours. It felt like my breast plate was ripping apart while simultaneously sinking in, making it hard to breathe. I found that it didn't hurt as bad while I was sitting up as it did when I was lying down. Googled it and it seems to be either heartburn from hell or my rib cage expanding to make room for the baby and organs. Has anyone else experienced this??
Sounds like it is both, heartburn and indigestion tend to go hand in hand so it is very well possible that it is both. I get them both really bad so my OB prescribed me prilosec otc.
Ive had chest pain on and off radiating sometimes to both upper arms. also shortness of breath at times and fatigue. also some flu like symptoms. when I rest I get much better. but it doesn't go away completely and in the last few days it has been worse than ever. I woke up with heartburn which is strange because I never get indigestion. I am not sleeping well which is also unusual. I have normal blood pressure and I am not overweight. My total cholesterol is in the low 200s.
I am only twelve, but I feel like I've been having heartburn for a year or two. Whenever I run or eat unhealthy foods, I feel a stabbing feeling in my chest. I can hardly run in a school jog a thon now. Being as it may with heartburn, I also have femoral anterversion. Once again, I am of age twelve. Can you be so kind and help me? Thank you.
6 weeks ago I started waking up in the night with what I can only describe as heart burn - severe pain in my chest. I had heartburn during pregnancy and this pain feels nothing like this. Its just an intense pain in my chest it varies from the middle to all over the chest to just one sided, it feels like a cramping or crushing feeling. It starts before I eat and gets worse after wards. I also have pain on and off just under my right rib cage, also lately the smelliest light tan/yellow stools.
I’m unaware of any direct connection between chest pain and HCV. Some folks do develop GERD (gastroesophageal reflux disease) as a result of treatment, and Prilosec is a first line defense for that.
If you don’t think it’s GERD (reflux), I’d keep looking. It’s good you got checked at ER; it must have been pretty serious to want to wait in line in ER. Does your chest still hurt?
Ugh, yes. I had this type of heartburn. It was so painful. I had to watch what I ate. And drank. I made sure that I didn't eat or drink very much long before I was going to lay down. I would eat grapes for a snack as I got less heartburn with that. I ate tums lke they were going out of style. But it's hard. Thankfully it will be over in a few days for you hon.
The chest pain could be from the heartburn, actually. I mostly take tums for heartburn, but you don't want to take too much. If it's really bad, talk to your doctor about something to reduce acid production (tums just deals with the acid once it's produced). I can't remember what it's called, but you take one pill twice a day. I took it for awhile, it's safe for pregnancy.
I have been to the doc and to the er for the standard test, blood work up, ekg, chest ct, and chest e-ray. The doctor says my heart is fine, but the pain is still there. About three days ago I started having the bad heartburn, I think, again and am going to be getting my peroid any day. Is it possible that the anxiety or the hormones are making my reflux worse.
I been having a chest pain for three days, but it usually pain for 2 hours. Although i have experience these pain before from the past, it usually come and go. But today i have a hard time to digest food, and my stomach feel weird. My whole body is working fine, legs and arm are both function normal, it just that my chest is feeling pain and my body is not digesting food today. So i don't know what is going in on. Remember, the stomach is primarily on the left side of the body as well. Pain from ulcers or heartburn can radiate out to other parts of the upper body. Just curious - when you have this pain after eating, have you tried an antacid to see if it calms things down? What about after eating smaller meals - any problems then?
Well, I'll start out saying that I'm only 21, not a smoker, and not obese, so I know it might sound totally silly that I'm getting worried about a heart attack.
But, for the last few days, I've been having mild chest pain on and off. A little bit today and especially yesterday, I was having heartburn as well. And just tonight, I swear I'm having this funny feeling in my left arm.
If the pain is aggravated with work or exercise then it could be due to cardiac pain. But when in doubt always best to have it checked. So please consult your primary care physician who may ask for an EKG or a treadmill test to rule out a cardiac cause for the pain.
