Anyone have experience with any over the counter depression medicine that works well?

Zantac is a over the counter pregnancy safe medicine that I take for extreme heartburn and it works amazing. It's a tiny little pill that you swallow.

Well I'm having the same issue as you. I take the over the counter Zantac medicine and it worked for a while but now it's so severe that it's not working for me anymore. So I'm gonna ask my doctor to prescribe me something.

Pepcid works for me. My Dr said any over the counter heartburn medicine is safe. Milk also helps me when the Pepcid isn't kicking in.

which over-the-counter antacid/heartburn medicine worked best for you?? I get it pretty often, and im making chili for dinner so i know im really gunna need something to help with it tonight. :) I'm 28 weeks and never had any issues with acid reflex or heartburn till a few weeks ago and now some night its gets so bad that it keeps me up at night. I REALLY dont want to take any medicine during my pregnancy, but this is something i just cant solve myself. tried everything already.

Since the attack I quit smoking and have been taking these drugs, but have been unwell almost everyday, suffering heartburn or chest contractions or some other stomach or chest pains or depression. As the months pass by I began to suspect and now believe that these problems are side effects of the drugs. I visited many doctors and had various checks and echos and analysis and was told that I am ok and was advised not to take alternative medicines!

If that doesn't help maybe ask your doctor if there is an over the counter medicine that they would recommend. Unless of course you are doing absolutely no medicines. If you get heart burn frequently eat a banana first before you eat anything else. It's what I do.

I currently take Zantac and its perfectly safe. U could get it over the counter but if u get it by prescription then u can get the stronger dose of 150 mg twice a day. It has been my god send as I was suffering with everything even drinking just water. I'm currenty 15 wks and have been taking it from the beginning.

ve had chronic heartburn for a number of years and its been easily resolved by over the counter antacids. But recently over the past few weeks the heartburn has become more intense and frequent. Everytime I lay down, everything I eat and drink gives me heartburn. I've also began experiencing nausea after each meal. Ill get hungry but have to stop eating due to nausea. I constantly feel nauseous and its effecting my life.

I was taking Tums at.first, then moved to Zantac over the counter. Eventually that medicine didn't work anymore so my OB just prescribed me Protonix and I FINALLY have relief.

Every time I lay down I get reallllly bad heartburn. The only kind of medicine we have for heartburn is prilosec. Does anyone know if it's okay to take?

Get some tums if that doesn't work take 75mg over the counter Zantac works like a charm I took one Zantac and haven't been bothered with heartburn since!

There are over the counter meds that are safe. Zantac in Canada (Rantididine sp.?) I think is the drug name.

There is a list of over the counter medicine you can take !!! But tums is also good , and perfectly safe !

t help tell your dr and dr will perscribe you with something better. For me no medication iver the counter worked so i got a prescription for a medicine that does miracles!

Tums, milk, I'm on medicine because mine was bad before I got pregnant. Talk to your dr of you have tried over the counter and it hasn't worked.

s safe to take during pregnancy but I would definitely ask your doctor. If it is safe you can either get it prescribed or over the counter in lower doses at pretty much any store with medicine.

Prilosec and Nexium is for heartburn. Prilosec is taken over a 14 day period and can only be taken every 4 months. Not sure about dosing for Nexium but Prilosec is often prescribed because it is over the counter.

yes yes, I am clean from Vicoden, Antidepresants but still am using a sleep aid, have been using over the counter meds for sleep since the 80's then went to prescription sleep aid and now I only sleep 3 or 4 hours using them. I am going to go off them soon. My Dr would like to see me wait until Jan just because I came off two meds this year and had surgery's but please don't go to prescription sleep aids I think it is harder to get off them than OCT.

But, I would like to know if there is an over the counter medicine. I only get the urgency after a little stress. It stops after 10 hours or so on it's own. But, a cheaper "as needed" OTC medicine would sure be something I am interested in.

Like, seriously, idk when your next appointment is, but call and ask for one sooner to get some prescription medicine. Mine was too severe for -anything- over the counter to help and now at the very worst, I might take tums to supplement. Best move I ever made, asking about my severe heartburn lol. I might be stuck with it on and off my whole life how (hoping it'll go away after pregnancy) bit I slept for the first time in TWO WEEKS after that.
