I have heartburn in general! Its to the point I can't have anything except milk products! What can you take for heartburn being pregnant??

He stated that it's due to indigestion and I brought up how I used to be on an acid reflux medicine called protonix before getting pregnant but discontinued use of it after finding out. I've been feeling horrible but I'm iffy about taking it. anyone ever taken nexium during pregnancy?

Prilosec and Nexium is for heartburn. Prilosec is taken over a 14 day period and can only be taken every 4 months. Not sure about dosing for Nexium but Prilosec is often prescribed because it is over the counter.

I normally take Prilosec but my nurse suggested if I can to avoid taking it while on treatment to avoid the risk of effecting the medicine so I have been living with chronic heartburn on and off for 20 weeks now with 4 to go.

I just relented three days ago and took another nexium. I never had heartburn before starting nexium except when pregnant. My diarrhea, joint pain, and muscle weakness is back and I’m back wearing an orthopedic boot on my left foot today. I’m very frustrated at this point.

I am on plavix also and was taking nexium for gerd. My cardiologist told me to go off the nexium because the FDA has found that the nexium or any of the PPI's inhibits the plavix from working properly. I am now on pepcid instead of nexium. I am curious to find out if your cardio's had mentioned this to you. Protonix is in the same group of PPI's as nexium. Google plavix and ppi's or go on the FDA website. You will read a lot about the two meds. Just for your info.

4, my ferritin is 5, hemocrit is 33, I have a headache everyday, and am really tired, I also have pains in my chest that come and go, I went to the emergency room and was diagnosed with heartburn, so I have been taking nexium everyday, but I also have arthritis and was taking Celebrex. He followed up with his doctor on this and I do not think they did the right thing by giving him Nexium. Since he has been on the nexium he has gained 20-30lbs and is now feeling bloated and worse than before. I just do not know what to do about this anymore. I do not know what it could be caused from. I have been prescribed Nexium by my doctor for the past 9 months and it is wonderful in preventing heartburn but after a while I started noticing that my stomach was slower as it would take up to 12 hours to empty my stomach. I recently changed to Prevacid as it recently came out as an OTC and it is my 10th day on it and already feeling the difference.

Wow, well that's not good then, is it? I mean, that I would feel worse after stopping the Nexium than I ever did before starting it! Some day I hope to wean myself off of the Nexium as I don't want to become too dependent on it or any medicine but apparently I'm already dependent on it. I have reflux disease. I use Nexium twice daily which is a proton inhibitor. I would suggest an endoscopy to see if you have any pre-cancerous cells growing. which thrive on the stomach lining growing in the throat.I have the procedure done for 15 years. If cought in time one can have a Halo procedure that scrapes the precancerous- lining in the throat. You need to catch it before stage 1, otherwise the cure is tenous at best.

Most of the time it would come after I wake up. I went to see a doctor and he gave me Nexium. I took that medicine for 2 weeks but noting changed. I went to see the doctor again a few weeks ago and he took a stools test and a blood test and both came out normal. He then told me to take Omeprazole or Omeprex. After I started to take this medicine, my Nausea disapeared during the mornings but it would come during the day and most of the time go away during the night.
