heartburn

Avatar f tn It's 2am and I'm laying wide awake because my arm and neck are in pain. It seems like every two weeks my back take turns getting pinched nerves causing my arms and neck to be in pain. :( almost like restless leg syndrome just in my arm. It's in my left this time.....I can't lay on my right side because my heartburn really acts up. Haha I feel like a helpless cause. Anyone experiencing this and if so what do you do to help it?
Avatar n tn One of the causes of globus is GERD. Since you had heartburn also, the most likely cause of globus in you is GERD. Take PPI like Prilosec for 4-8 weeks for relief.
Avatar n tn Do you get heartburn? I know my neck/throat hurts when I have heartburn. What about your thryoid gland or your tonsils? Maybe you have swollen glands. If it's not any of these, I don't know. I'm not a doctor, but maybe you should go and get checked out.
Avatar f tn Can someone please just sum up what having heartburn feels like, I know it's common in pregnant women so I knew it would come I just never knew how it would feel, I want to make sure this is really heartburn that I'm feeling and not anything serious bc this feeling truly *****, its feels like my throat and chest are just collapsing (that's a bit dramatic) but it really is an uneasy feeling, my throat is very irritated, my whole inside just feels really gasy...
Avatar n tn Do anybody have any remedies that will help with heartburn?..this is my 3rd pregnancy never had to deal with heartburn the first two times...this really *****!!
Avatar m tn I am a 24 year old male and have been experiencing tightness in neck, chest, and sometimes shoulder area. The tightness is not painful like I could have a heart attack but more irritating. I had surgery for a hiatal hernia and had laparoscopic fundoplication done and I also have scoliosis. I've been to a chiropractor for my tightness to see if that would help but it just came right back. Wonder if this could be related to my scoliosis.
Avatar n tn Diagnosis is by a breath test, treatment is with antibiotics. Tightness in the throat is probably from the acid; it is a little unusual that you say you have no heartburn though.
Avatar m tn ve been having more of a pronounced ache in my neck which prompted me to go see a chiropractor recommended by my work mates. He was able to find the problem in about 5 seconds, that I had a really swollen area around my 10T vertebrae. I've been going a few times a week to see him, but something else is also starting to crop up. My central abdomen, below my breastbone, has been aching as well and it is constant.
Avatar f tn One study reported 20 to 43% incidence of heartburn in patients with head and neck symptoms. Also, acid reflux can mimic a heart attack so yes your symptoms could be due to acid reflux issues. My mother suffered severely from Gastric Esophageal Reflux Disease (GERD) and Laryngopharyngeal Reflux (LPR) for 5 years. She now suffers neither.
Avatar f tn -Hold a mirror in front of the area of the neck where the thyroid gland is located. This area is just below the Adam's apple and right above the collarbone. (Note: The Adam's apple is not the thyroid location.) -Tip the head back. -Take a drink of water and swallow, watching the neck during the process. -Check for any bulging or protrusions. If any is detected, call a doctor for a check up.
Avatar n tn I am a 49-year old female who has had severe acid reflux for several years. I have been on Nexium 2 X day for the past 7 years and have still managed to develop Barrett's esophagus. At this point, the Barrett's is at the lowest stage, however given the aggressiveness of my case, my biggest fear is that it will turn into full-blown cancer. I have slept with the bed raised for years; I have used Nexium before meals 2x day for years.
Avatar f tn Voice still gets hoarse after speaking a long time. Have to see her again in July and have a Stoboscopy done. WHATEVER !!!! My neck/chin area is still numb/tender ... very annoying and I still don't know what the heck is causing it. Hopefully I will find out what the cause is in July. I will post results afterwards.
Avatar n tn Heartburn is a painful, burning feeling in the chest that radiates toward the neck or back. Heartburn is caused by stomach acid rising into the esophagus and may be a symptom of GERD. A person can have symptoms of both indigestion and heartburn. How is your diet? With your type of pain, I would suppliment your diet with an antacid like Prilosec and see if that doesn't help.
Avatar f tn You should probably go to the doctor and have your thyroid, lymph nodes, ect in you neck checked. If one of these are inflamed or have something wrong with it you could have problems swallowing. Hope this helps. Best wishes.
454046 tn?1244565593 Chest pain is not common - may be heartburn. But must be concerned about the amount of residual neck thyroid tissue (and possibly lymph nodes) as well as the less likely possibility of spread to the chest area -- will be important to look at the whole body scan and any abnormality there would need CT scan / Ultrasound evaluation. We expect to see uptake in the thyroid bed - but otherwise the neck should not have significant uptake.
Avatar n tn I was wondering if heartburn/indigestion feeling in the center of my chest could be a new symptom of the hyperthyroid i was just diagnosed with. Mostly I have been having trouble with panic attacks but the last couple days I have a burning chest-dead center-kinda like heartburn......any clues? Is hyperthyroid known to have heartburn as a symptom as well as all the other lovely symptoms I have been having??? THanks!!!!
Avatar f tn I have no idea what this is. It started about a week ago. I have a sensation almost like someone has a hand wrapped around my throat. Could this be a thyroid issue? Any input? Thanks!
1686518 tn?1305606609 Can sudden constipation, due to codeine abuse cause severe neck ache, between the shoulders to the part where the neck bone goes into the skull?can gas cause head aches and eye aches?

Avatar f tn About a month ago out if the blue my husband started experiencing digestion issues and started having chest pains. We went to the doctor thinking it was related to heart. He had three EKG's done and a stress test and everything came out fine. A week after his chest pain he started having numbness in his left arm...we thought this was heart again but since all the tests came out fine we didn't know what it was.
Avatar n tn So around 6 I started feeling like I had some pretty bad heartburn and it continues to bother me. About an hour ago the middle of my back all the way up to my neck is killing me. Everything hurts and I didn't do anything out of the ordinary today so I don't know what's going on. Help!
Avatar f tn We had to trim it at 2 months old because it was going in his eyes.
Avatar f tn Its still early but I have no loss of motor function for those worried about removing those tonsils. I wont lie the neck pain is there but heck the neck muscles were just just cut. So all is well and I am taking it one day at a time. Thanks for all the prayers.
Avatar n tn Today I developed a shooting pain in the front of my neck and a shooting pain in my right lower pelvic area. I have a history of asthma, axiety attacks, and GERD. Could it just be this or does it sound more serious?
Avatar n tn The PA yesterday even said it was noticabley bigger but when the endo came in he said I just have heartburn--go figure, eh? Apparently heartburn, even when you don;t really have it, makes you neck swell OMG! I sleep on my side, always have. It kinda stuck with me from my pregnancies. When I do occasionaly roll on my back I wake up from the choking feeling. The sleep study showed no apnea but that I do wake up a lot during the night. Hope everything turns out OK from your biopsy.
