Avatar m tn With laryngopharyngeal reflux, you may not have the classic symptoms of GERD, such as a burning sensation in your lower chest (heartburn). That's why it can be hard to diagnose and is sometimes called silent reflux.
Avatar f tn he has had an ablasion done once , which was unsuccessful - so we will try again at some point in the future - the longer I can hold off surgery , the better - but I need to know if the beta-blockers are going to have long term effects.
Avatar m tn Why is there such a large deviation or difference of opinion in different doctors on whether or not amblyopia can or cannot be treated in adults? Is it still because studies such as those conducted by McGill University (tetris) are relatively new?
Avatar f tn Thank you for the advice :)
Avatar f tn dealt with the high pollen and allergies and again fluid in the ears. Tomorrow I go to have tubes put in. I am extremely nervous because I will be awake for the procedure. Any advice as to what I can except, during and after?
1284078 tn?1271587111 My doctor is now going to refer me back to my old renal consultant as they just dont know what to do with me, as you know it is unusual in adults and frankly i think i am probably the only person they have ever seen with it (i live on a small island so thats not that far fetched) What gets me is that i have had a few years without any problems and i guess i got my hopes up that it was finally over. It is nice to know that i am not the only one out there going through this.
Avatar f tn I know Cradle Cap is used for babie's that have it but i just cannot remember the real name for it. Anyways my mum seems to have it and she's in her late 40's. The first time she got it was a few months ago, it started off with a severe itchy scalp and red itchy spots on her neck/back, then she woke up with a shock, her scalp was covered in yellow crust, it was awful she was so distressed, i had to get it out with a nit comb. That time she was suffering from stress.
Avatar m tn i was at a party and a girl who had recently became a mother, put breastmilk on her finger and put it in my mouth, I have read that enzymes and stomach acid would kill the virus, but I am on anti-depressants, tablets that reduce stomach acid and metformin for type 2 diabetes, would I still have the neccesary enzymes and stomach acid to kill the virus taking into consideration my medical conditions, I also do not know her HIV status do not know a lot about her
Avatar f tn I have no idea what any of that even means because I have heard it to be normal in non-pregnant adults for the levels to be as high as 4.5. I am feeling absolutely fine and have never been diagnosed with thyroid problems in the past. In fact, I am pretty overweight just due to not dieting or exercising like I should have been. They prescribed me the lowest dosage of Synthroid available.
Avatar m tn Hi, I had an episode were I took two drops of breast milk off the girls finger, I read that stomach acid and enzymes kill hiv in the stomach, thing is I take anti heartburn medication which reduces stomach acid, would I still be a zero risk even though i take this and diabetes type 2 medication
Avatar f tn It started with really painful heartburn mainly as night, I would wake up in the middle of the night with chest pain from the heartburn then end up suffering a panic attack as I thought something was seriously wrong. I went to my gp who suggested my heartburn can be made worse by stress and that stress can make heartburn worse.

Avatar f tn I just posted this same response under another topic.....but it fits here, too: I am a 27-year old female who has just had an ICD implanted. It is the best decision I could have ever made. I am no longer experiencing skipped/abnormal beats. I feel so much better having the device, knowing that should my heart decides it wants to skip beats or even stop, I have a safety net.
Avatar m tn I have always had a horrible fear of hiv and of course when googling you see all kinds of answers like this... How common are situations like this in adults of my age? thank u so much for your help..
Avatar f tn I have had some heartburn but not the same feeling as you that something is in my throat... Mostly just a heartburn feeling at night right when going to bed. I have found that for me eating oatmeal or high fiber cereal every morning helps with the digestion.
Avatar n tn Ever since I saw with my own eyes that I was ok, I would get heartburn once or twice a week, and it was easily controlled by taking Omeprazole(in 2 hours no more heartburn!).. However, its staring to trouble me everyday again. And this time I have made some interesting observations.. 1. My throat burns....This was, and still is the only symptom that ever made me go to Docs who said I have "GERD"! 2. When the "heart"burn(read throat burn) starts, and I vomit, Viola!
Avatar f tn Is it common to have indigestion and heartburn in week 7 because I dont ever recall this during my first two pregnancies?
1523981 tn?1311318595 During this past week I have gotten woke up by the taste of vomit in my mouth, I will wake up just as I am swallowing it. Is this normal for pregnancy or do I have more problems not related to the pregnancy starting up. I am currently at 19 weeks. Once this happens, I am affraid to go back to sleep cause I don't want this to keep happening.
Avatar f tn Lol I remember those days! I was sick from beginning to end with my last two and this one has been better but I'd wake up in the middle of the night and puke from having heartburn so bad.
