1063764 tn?1272821064 I have read many things on different foods to avoid, such as broccoli, peaches, brussel sprouts, etc. I don't COMPLETELY stray from them, but if I have them it's very rare. I was just curious as to what I should do/eat before I have these tests redone, so there aren't any false results. I do not want to be put on a higher dosage of medication that I don't need. Thanks for any help.
Avatar f tn Tums.

Avatar f tn There are limits to fish and caffeine you can find on either the CDC page or Mayo Clinic has a page with good guidelines. Less than 200mg of caffeiene a day, but try to avoid it for the first trimester. 12oz of fish a week, but some types should only have 6oz a week. The lists are on the Mayo Clinic page.
Avatar f tn Eat small meals. Avoid foods that aggravate your stomach. Don't eat too close to bedtime. Get your doctor to prescribe Zantac. That works better than Tums. I have heartburn too! It's all about your food and liquid intake.

2134917 tn?1335845429 Welcome to the gastroenterology community! Heartburn and reflux are very common with gastroparesis. This can often be helped by dietary changes. I would recommend eating many small meals throughout the day, eating a low-fiber low-fat diet, and avoid spicy or acidic foods.
Avatar f tn My Dr told me to take Ranitidine 150mg twice a day. Or once. Depending how bad it is. And just try to avoid greasy or spicy foods. Also don't eat to much. Instead eat several small meals throughout the day.
Avatar n tn Sounds like acid reflux. Avoid spicy foods, and maybe some dairy products. Acid reducers would probably help as well.
Avatar f tn Oh, isn't it the worse? My best advice is to avoid the foods that make it worse, acidic stuff like sausage, spicy foods and those that contain tomatoes (for me even lettuce!) Tums are an option to get you through the tough times. Drinking water and eating bland foods help, but the only real relief is delivering your baby, it's just a part of even some of the healthiest pregnancies.
