heartburn during breastfeeding

Ugh I keep getting really bad heartburn. Tums doesn't work. Ive taken the max limit within the past 24 hours and still keep getting it. What can I do??

Ya! I'm excited! Ya ppl thought I was crazy Cuz i would eat habenaro pregnant( til dr. ended that) and I didn't even get heartburn after. I told me hubby. This baby has my blood and will LOVE hot food!

Ok I'm 10 wks why do I have heartburn so bad it does not matter what I eat I always get it. I feel like I walk around with a fire in my chest at all time.

When I was pregnant with my first everyone said spicy food would help induce labor. I was overdue so I ate everything spicy I could get my hands on but I still had to be induced. I'm not craving spicy food this time like I do when I'm not pregnant, but I don't shy away from it either. Doesn't hurt baby. Just be aware that it will probably make for a fussy baby when/if you're breastfeeding. I ate chilis one time while breastfeeding and my daughter was horrible all night.

I had a baby 6 months ago and I am currently still breastfeeding. For the past several months I've been suffering with chronic stomachaches and nausea every day all day long. I also have heartburn often and the sensation of a lump in my throat. I had an upper GI scope done and the doctor says my esophagus is inflamed and that I have GERD. I never had any health problems before and I am not overweight. I do not smoke or drink and I have a healthy diet.

I don't think so. Crackers and ginger...I survived off of Canada Dry ginger ale for awhile. Sounds like morning sickness, it should pass after the first trimester, but if it's horrible you might see your doctor for a prescription that's safe during pregancy.

I plan on breastfeeding my daughter when she's born. I'm 37 weeks an this is my second baby. My first was born 10 years ago and I did breast feed him but only for about 6 weeks because my milk didn't come in enough to satisfy him. Anyway, I'm almost done with this pregnancy (hallelujah!) but I feel like the entire time I was soooooooo emotional to the point where I feel like I've been a different person and I can't wait to get my old self back.

yesterday i had bad diarrhea but it stopped by itself , when i woke up this morning i wokeup with a runny nose and all other symptoms of common cold.. in addition to sever heartburn.. i only took panadol for the cold but it didn't work, i need some cold medication safe during pregnancy as well as something for the heartburn..

I have awful heartburn and acid reflux. I usually take some tums with a little bit of milk and make sure I sit up afterwards. I have severe nausea too and the heartburn always makes me get sick again. It's common in pregnancy... but I know how bad it *****!

I was full time breastfeeding up until about a month ago when I incorporated some formula but still breastfeeding,,, me and my husband started having intercourse again 3 weeks after the birth of our daughter,,we use condoms but no birthcontrol,,there has been a time or two that when he would ejaculate into the condom we would keep going for a few minutes,,,needless to say I have not had my menstrual since I gave.

I take Lexapro for depression and anxiety. It has really helped me tremendously. I am also diabetic and take Janumet. I would like to become pregnant soon and was wondering if anyone had experience with Lexapro while pregnant/breastfeeding. Do you know if it's approved or known safe for pregnancy and breastfeeding?

I've always had symptoms appear between 3-5 weeks gestation, or 1-3 weeks after ovulation (this is my fifth pregnancy, one living child so far, tested positive before missed period 3 of 5 times and never found out later than 4w3d). For me personally, my pregnancy symptoms are nothing like premenstrual symptoms - I've never in my life had sore breasts except in pregnancy and early breastfeeding. Never in my life experienced heartburn except during pregnancy.

Never heard of those things but I love spicy food and always have. Weird but that's the only thing that doesn't give me heartburn. I eat Mexican street tacos with super hot salsa...yum! I say eat away!

Yeah but not after the baby is born if you're breastfeeding it will give the baby really bad gas and you'll be up all night with him/her
