I drank a lot of self made wine for several days (sometimes on empty stomach too) and one day, along with overeating with a lot of grilled and spicy food, I got this strong heartburn and burning sensation along my esophagus and stomach that lasted for three days (20th – 22nd of Jan). I stopped drinking and after that the heart burn was gone except for a strange feeling (like something is stuck in the throat/esophagus).
*hugs* try taking a warm bath and having and glass of wine. I know what they tell all of us, but one glass of wine won't hurt. When I was contracting with my second and not making progress, midwife sent me home, said have a glass of wine, take a benadryl and a warm bath, get some rest the baby will be here soon. My water broke the next morning.
I'm not a big drinker. Occasionally I liked a glass of wine every no and then. So, I've stopped that period. And just was wondering what is the con census about wine while pregnant? I miss the taste.
It has to be red wine is what my doctor told me. I drink a little glass a couple times a week.
About ten hours ago I had what I think were too many peanuts and was drinking wine at the time. Even before midnight I got a severe belly ache with bloating and cannot sleep. I am pretty sure the major culprit is the peanuts even though I know the wine did not help. I really am looking for some home remedy to get me through this, but all I can find in the house are Pepto Bismol and Ginger Ale. Will these do any good?
I'm sorry about the heartburn, I never had that! My mother suffers from bad heartburn and she is on RX meds also! One thing the Doctor told her was to sleep with her head raised! She actually put a 2X4 under the bed post to raise the head of the bed! She thinks this helps!
Your emotions will be all over the place for a while! Mine still are! It's really good to let them surface! Cry, if you feel like it! Get mad! This is a good thing to get your emotions out!
I am an avid enjoyer of wine and whiskey, and have never had issues with either beverage. Beer I need to stay away from because it gives me horrid cramps and bloating, but never have I felt nauseous. The only drink I've know to make me this sick is tequila. Even the smell has instilled nausea in me. I am allergic to tree nuts, and actually figured that there could be a correlation between that and the agave agent in tequila. Needless to say, I avoid at all costs.
Hi I am a 42yr old male and have been diagnosed with Hashimotos disease in the last six months. I am having severe cramps and pain up both sides of my neck on waking. They are so bad I have to grab my neck until they pass. The GP said it was probably reflux irritating my inflamed thyroid but it doesn't just burn, i actually feel the sides of my neck go into spasm. I am on anti-reflux meds and there is no difference.

I have regular bouts of what I assume to be heartburn: discomfort behind the lower half of my sternum.
It only really bothers me with liquids, even a large batch of almond milk smoothie, that I made the other day. Wine gives me a certain amount of discomfort, but beer really gives me trouble. After two or three pints I get quite intense pain, and a need to vomit. It feels like my whole system has backed up, and that my intestine's won't let the contents of my stomach through.
Wow, you're lucky. Lol, if I tried eating that I'd get heartburn.. And my heartburn is horrible To begin with & my feet swell up badly anyway. Lol.

The only time in my life i have experienced heartburn was 24 yrs ago when pregnant with my daughter. All of a sudden in July 2011 i started getting heartburn and indigestion which at first i thought something i ate out of the ordinary but the symptoms wont go away. I went to family doctor they prescribed Prilosec which i took for a week with no difference if anything it was worse with pain in my chest.
Oh I feel you. I'm 37 weeks 3days and I'm so ready to have my lil man here. Between the back pain, Braxton Hicks, heartburn and constant need to pee I've been contemplating the pineapple theory myself. My kids are like he should come out already lol. My shower was yesterday so it has me even more impatient. You're closer to the finish line than I am. Try a long walk or going up and down stairs.

i am not much of an alcohol drinker but the other night we had pizza and cake and 4 glasses of wine for a birthday party and later that night i woke up with severe pains in my lower chest that went straight through to my back and it was really worse than labor i have 3 kids so i know, anyway my doctor says its from wine and i can no longer drink it, that seems crazy to me is this possible?
