Heartburn and wellbutrin

Common Questions and Answers about Heartburn and wellbutrin

heartburn

Has anyone else experienced heartburn with Wellbutrin, and if so how did you treat it and did it eventually go away? I'm wondering if a switch from SR to XL is indicated in order to slow the release of the drug to potentially help with my stomach issues. Thanks!
Namaste, Wellbutrin is an antidepressant medication. Wellbutrin is used to treat major depressive disorder and seasonal affective disorder. It is usually well tolerated with only minor side effects, however given your husbands' history of medical problems, I would consult with my healthcare provider, Although if he/she increased the dosage from 300 to 450 mg per day, they(the doctor) obviously doesn't see a problem.
Hi, I have had experience with both Lexipro and Wellbutrin. I was on Lexipro for 2 years and it worked very well for anxiety. I got off it because I was uncomfortable with the weight gain/tiredness. I started taking Wellbutrin about a month ago and have been more anxious than without drugs plus I am agitated and bouncing off the walls. I also awoke with depression on several days and am typically not a depressed person.
Lexapro, Zoloft, Wellbutrin, Effexor, Cymbalta, EMSAM, Savella, Strattera, Abilify, Prozac, Pristiq, Provigil, Neurontin I'm now on: Vyvanse, Buspar, Aplenzin. I've also suffered from sinus problems during all of this. I've had sinus surgery but I still wake up congested, and have a loss of smell.
Back in 2008, I contracted two colds, one month apart, and had horrible throat congestion...there was a lot of hard coughing and gagging to get the congestion out..l saw an ear, nose and throat doctor right away..he did an endoscopy and diagnosed me with acid reflux and allergic sinusitis ..I didnt have the heartburn, so if that was the case, it was "silent reflux or LPR"...have had trouble swallowing normally ever since...I.have seen this doctor a few times in the meantime...
I started gaining weight rapidly, on top of the 25 pounds I'd put on in the previous 8 months for no reason. Doc put me on Wellbutrin - for both the depression and the smoking. I went back for a follow-up, and by that time I told her the depression was so bad that I could barely put one foot in front of the other when I got out of bed in the morning. She ran blood tests, and bang! Hashimotos. I'm with Dac as far as mine goes.
0 or thereabouts and great free t4 free t3 levels and all else looks good so maybe they raise your thyroid med dose thinking you're still a little hypo (not hyper) or have you lower dose in case you are actually hyper and for a short while you feel better or feel worse right away so now you don't know if you're up or down ?
I also have severe RLS but have only ever had sleep paralysis a few times in my life. I've had RLS since I was in my early teens, now 40, and it has always been very severe. I can go for weeks at a time and maybe get an hour of sleep a night. Finally, a few years ago, Requip was studied and labeled for treatment of RLS. Dai3symae wrote that wellbutrin is "like a miracle". It's funny because that's what I always tell my doctor about Requip.
http://www.drugs.com/drug-interactions/celexa-with-inderal-679-335-1956-1266.html As both Metoprolol Tartrate and Citaprolam are metabolized in the liver, the Citaprolam can increase the effects of the Metoprolol Tartrate causing "bradycardia, hypotension, and complete heart block following the addition of a SSRI, subsequently requiring discontinuation of one or both agents and/or institution of a permanent pacemaker.
doctor on April 20th to further discuss my problems and on May 10th I'm going to see an allergy specialist to find out the severity of my allergies and get a needle test done. I am on Protonix and take ranitidine to try and relieve some of these problems but they usually give me little to no relief. I also take antacids basically on a daily basis. I've been taking Acidophilus also but I'm about to stop it because it doesn't seem to help either. My G.P. started me on a high fiber diet.
GERD may be due to anatomical change which may be due to conective tissue disease. Have you ever found anything unusual after a skin wound healing? Systemic sclerosis and consequent small intestinal bacterial overgrowth - this is what we are talking about.
I am on 500 mg and it has done nothing for weight loss. It actually constipated me for the first few days and gave me heartburn and chest pain. I don't know if that is normal or not. My doctor says I am insulin resistant and he thinks this will help me loss weight. Should I ask to increase it? Or is it to soon?
My main symptom at the time was numbness in my arms and legs and fatigue. Chiari fit since I also had neck and shoulder pain. I had decompression surgery in 2011. The neck pain has gone away and for some time there was an increase in energy, a slight increase. Initially the numbness went away too. But the numbness has come back and is pretty constant now. Since then I have been tested for Neuropathy, we found none, 2013.
I had an unknown illness during the winter. This illness caused me to have an elevated heart rate, very high blood pressure, and chest pain/pressure almost all the time for about 5 months. When it all started, I wasn't anxious, and i wasn't experiencing panic attacks. I later developed panic disorder on top of the illness (i was pretty scared for a few months), and while my physical symptoms are mostly better now (not completely), panic attacks can be triggered very easily.
As soon as I get into a place I get so dizzy and my vision is all messed up. I get so hot and sweaty and my heart races. I want my life back. I still dont believe that its just anxiety causing all of this. I feel like I have something else wrong that the doctors cant find even though i have had bloodwork, mri, ekg, and they were all normal. I started taking .25mg of xanax once a day. still dont feel any better yet. So if anybody has any help please give it to me.
We talked about the next step and after talking for quite awhile, she feels I'm a canddiate for Protonix and perhaps Paxil to calm the anxiety this has caused. I know you take Protonix Jenn and like it. The nurse did explain that what works for one may not work for another. She herself takes Protonix and likes it alot. She has bad reflux and the Protonix has improved her quality of life.
I am wondering if anyone has had experience with Adderall XR or Wellbutrin XL and Reflux symptoms? I started Wellbutrin about 6 months ago, and Adderall XR about 3-4 months ago. I finally feel like I have the side effects under control for the most part.
I've already taken Paxil,Effexor and Wellbutrin. I'm still on Wellbutrin and have had no side effects from it. I take Xanax for my panic attacks, what else can I do? I feel like I'm being torchered.
Have you ever given DGL a go? Try it for a month then ease off the meds before you die of the side effects. The acid in your stomach is one of the bodies first line of defence. Best of luck!
Since hiatal hernia can also cause heartburn and heartburn can cause laryngospasms, you may need an alternative treatment or minor surgery which my mother is having soon, too. She is getting a simple incision with a laporoscopy and won't have to spend time in the hospital. Have you told the doctor who prescribed Prilosec it doesn't help? Did he or she suggest something else? If not, find a new one, imo.
I was on Wellbutrin 150mg twice a day and 20mg Lexapro twice a day, I moved 9 weeks ago and during the trip I lost control of the truck I was driving. I lost everything including my medication. By the time I reached my destination I had already gone without my meds for a week. I didn't want my meds anymore. I don't knoe if insanity set in or sanity did. It's been 9 weeks now since having these meds and I seem to have turned a corner but these "waves" people talk about continue.
Simple question here, has anyone ever had a negative blood test and negative urine test and went on with their daily routine and a month or so later found out you were in fact pregnant while having ultrasound done. If this has happened to anyone or perhaps someone you know, please respond, I'd appreciate the information. Thanks.
I think everything is over and I clean up. I walk out of the toilet and in about 2 minutes time the stomach cramp and the fainting sensation comes back (I've fainted only once to date from this and was out for about 15-20 minutes). 6. When I get back to the toilet I have a really violent Diarrhoea episode in pure liquid state.
Right now (maybe b/c of the meds) my stomach hurts terribly and my legs ache. I have heartburn everyday no matter what I eat and it is very painful. Sometimes I feel like my brain is going to stop...!! Help or give me advice if you can! Thanks!
for the last 3 ive tried prozac, wellbutrin and lexapro and none helped me.im thinking maybe now that some time has elapsed maye try to go back on the zoloft?would it work agin?who knows!but im willing to do aything at this point. to cowgirl-im scared to death to drink coffee because everyone says thats what causes these things, but im going to try it anyway, as you seem to be adamant that it works for you.wish me luck!
I went back to my doctor with a copy of the blood tests from the internist and nothing was done. I took it as I needed to deal with it and started Nexium for heartburn and reflux (which has helped). After four years, I decided I have to do something. I went back to my doctor asked for a cholesterol check and a check on the c reactive protein test. I had my diseased galbladder removed. I have had an upper and lower gi and barium swallow. My LDL cholesterol is now 200.
I too have had many panic attack related situations, and have feared that there is more wrong with me than I thought. Sometimes it was so hard to decide what was actually "real" or what was in my head. I had my worst episode in college when I was 21, I literally thought I would never be able to function like that. After getting on Celexa (40mg - this will differ depending on your severity) and it changed my life.
then I went to paxil, neurontin, and now i'm back to zoloft/wellbutrin. I noticed that I had terrible heartburn for about a week after I started taking zoloft. I think that's fairly common. I also think that you have to sort of experiment with what time of day is better for you... some people have more luck in the morning, some at night. It works better for me at night. I would just give it a chance. And buy some Mylanta or something... it actually really helps. Hang in there!
I'm sorry I can't solve your original problem, I don't know if you've stated the original symptoms which led you to seek help, but - I do believe that the psychiatrist who is prescribing Wellbutrin and Xanax is probably doing you more harm than good. IMHO Wellbutrin is probably causing or exacerbating your gastro symptoms, and the Xanax script is asking for trouble.
I have been to about 30 doctors- including ENT's allergists, neurologists, chiropracters, opthamologists. psychologists, dentists and everything else u can think of. All CT scans, MRI of brain and blood work keep coming back clean and ok. Nothing I try seems to work. There was a period of time about 3 and a half years ago that the symptoms lifted for about 4 months and then it returned full force.
