Do you normally have a lot of heartburn? The reason I ask is that I had heartburn all the time and got the same feeling in my throat that you describe. I had an endoscopy and they found I had an esophageal stricture. He stretched it while he was in there. It felt like I had a lump in my throat all the time and my chest hurt through to my back. Hope this helps.
Recently, the tickle/feeling-something-inside below the throat is always there, never gone, and also the cough is getting stronger at night, daytime rarely cough however)
I saw my family doctor several times, and they told me that it's allergy/heartburn. I used Omnaris nostril spray and Nexium esomeprazole magnesium pill, the symptom didn't dissapear.
I really worry about my problem, right now I cannot sleep very well, feel tired. Please give good advice. Thank you.
Can someone please just sum up what having heartburn feels like, I know it's common in pregnant women so I knew it would come I just never knew how it would feel, I want to make sure this is really heartburn that I'm feeling and not anything serious bc this feeling truly *****, its feels like my throat and chest are just collapsing (that's a bit dramatic) but it really is an uneasy feeling, my throat is very irritated, my whole inside just feels really gasy...
As above and if you burp it can come up your throat which feels like what it is you're burping up acid. Feels like a chemical burn.
The general physician told me that I have infection of the throat and tonsil. She prescribed me antibiotic (cephalexin), lozenges, cough syrup, and panadol. It didn't get better. Finally i couldn't stand the burning sensation (heartburn) so i decided to take antacid (zellox-II) and immediately i feel relieved. The heartburn sensation disappearred overnight.
I can totally sympathise! I don't even have triggers EVERTHING makes me feel like I'm about to vomit fire. My throat is killing me with it. It's really common in pregnancy as your hormones relax, the valve that goes from your stomach to gullet relaxes too, which makes acid travel up from your stomach into your throat. It's so unfair!!!!
Does it feel like heart burn maybe?
The days following up until today (Sunday), My throat has been hoarse, I keep needing to clear my throat and now today my throat is sore. Can acid reflux be causing all of this? If so are H2 meds like Pepcid and Zantac ok, or are PPI meds like Prilosec and Prevacid better? Thanks and have a great day!
I had something similiar last year pre-dx. Throat was constantly sore and I'd lose my voice occasionally. Doc said it was GERD and I have to take 80mg Prilosec 2x/day.
After I was dx, I mentioned it to my GI, because I've never had heartburn or acid reflux before. He said it probably was related to or excaberated by the HCV.
Maybe its just acid reflux from the interferon and riba?

I have had heartburn for roughly a year and a half. I recently moved to the middle east and it has gotten alot worse. I had heartburn once for over a week. I'm always going to the hospital here. I recently had an endoscopy done and they found a large hiatel hernia. I was giving Nexium and told that should do the trick. I don't really get the heartburn that frequently but my throat is always sore, possibly from the acid reflux?
As soon as baby comes, it'll all go away!:) you're almost there:) I understand, I have bad heartburn as well. I had it so bad one night, I fell asleep after eating sour straws. Woke up in the middle of my sleep with heartburn that went into my nose, I lept up to the bathroom quick and barely made it. I threw up all over the bathtub but was happy that I at least made it. Then the rest of the night I couldn't sleep because I had more during than before in my nose and throat.
I had a relatively smooth pregnancy up until third trimester started and then heartburn became my worst enemy. I've been married to Tums ever since and I hate it. A glass of milk will give temporary relief but only for a few minutes and not if you lay back down. I feel your pain, stomach acid crawling into your throat when you are trying to sleep is awful.
Its 4am and they won't shift. I'm so so tired. I have had 3 rennies tablets and 2 glasses of milk to try and shift the heartburn but it's being stubborn tonight... and this backache is unreal. Any tips please ladies?
I had very bad heartburn (acid reflux) during a period when I was hypothyroid. Just because your hormone levels were "fine" doesn't mean they are adequate. If you will please post your test results and reference ranges shown on the lab report members will be glad to assess.
so I'm almost 6 weeks, and I don't know if it's heartburn or morning sickness. But I almost constantly have the feeling that if I just threw up I'd feel better. Sometimes it helps when I eat something. Any thought?
I'm 22 weeks. I don't know what I am experiencing but I think it's heartburn. After I eat I feel something between burping, throwing up or a sore throat.
What can I do?
